Despite these reports, some productions are pressing forward with its shooting schedule, like "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins", directed by McG, which is looking for a May 22nd 2009 release, and, of course, Michael Bay, who is set to begin shooting the film in early June of this year and looking for a June 29th 2009 release date.
Other directors do not seem as hopeful of the situation as shown by Producer/Director Steven Spielberg who has completely stopped production of his newest film about a trial over war activists in the year 1968. He and other directors are putting their projects on hold until after the June 30th deadline.
We can only wait and see what events may come and whether or not the projected release date for Transformers 2 will hold true.

Bad news scrapper! it's June 26th for the release, that's what I've heard all along.

Unlike the writers, screen actors actually have TWO groups representing them. The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and The American Federation of Television & Radio Artists (AFTRA).
If anything it's more AFTRA that are making discussions difficult.

The title clearly states SAG. The topic doesn't discuss what is causing the talks to breakdown, as its not TF related, but rather what affect it will have on the upcoming movie.

It would be so sweet to get a reboot from the ground up.
Or, like how the latest batch of Godzilla films in Japan were handled. Each new film is its own continuity and shot by a different director as a stand alone story.
If the TF movies were handled like that, then I'd let this miserable heap slide- cause I know something that's at least "different" will be coming next.
meh.

"different" each time means better then ? nobody would know what the hell is going on and why each character is different in styles and all the other details that go along with it.
Perhaps Bays version did not suit the needs of all the trolls still living in their parents basements with no lives other than to whine how Bay destroyed their childhood but I'd rather have his version than nothing at all or another rehashing of keeping everything the same from G1.
The film was far from perfect but at least it's a start and they'll improve things along the way.
here's hoping to even greater success for TF2 than the first film did!

Yah... Well, June 26th is my 21st B-day. I'm praying it stays that way so I can catch TF2, have some cake, then get shit faced!!!
