Makes sense to not have a Comic. IDW isn't writing the series anymore, and the final issue of Shattered Glass II was left simultaneously open ended and final note.

He looks great, but the bright white stands out too much. It's probably pearlescent white, but they really should have gone with silver.

In addition to both those points: presumably by virtue of not including the comic, this is the first SG Collection figure with no markup, he's the same price as Skyquake and Snarl according to this description.Emerje wrote:The big news here is it isn't a Pulse exclusive, looks like it'll be sold in the same place as Selects figures.

Check that. He is the same price, but they cut an accessory. Admittedly a very lousy accessory, but one nonetheless

I actually like the darker gray better. If that thing was commander-sized and had a Con symbol on it, I might get it and pretend it's G1 comic Trypticon, who was smaller than his cartoon version.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Grimlock was always 70s Mecha Godzilla to me and the silver deco worked. Now I would love the rest of the Dinos in SG colors, whatever the decos are.

Honestly, the existing Titan class version is pretty close to how big Trypticon was in the Marvel comics, as no City-forming Titan is actually in scale with any of the Deluxe-and-up figures.Rodimus Prime wrote:I actually like the darker gray better. Yeah, I know. But I have restricted space and I can't accommodate Titan Trypticon. According to the toy galleries on this very site, the OG figure definitely seems to be a size that you might have an easier time storing/displaying!

Actually the comics were beholden to the toys rather then the other way around. IDW were told to do the stories around the characters

OG takes up a decent amount of space. Honestly, if you bought the Titan Trypticon and leaned him forward a bit, his foot space would be about the same as the G1 Trypticon and you could put bots underneath him.
Grimlock still looks very neat. The colors are very nice

Also, I wish they dropped the comic books BEFORE they released SG Soundwave with that ridiculous price. I have no interest in the comic books so I really don't want to pay the inflated price. I think it's really stupid & irritating how SG Soundwave, a voyager, is the same price as SG Magnus a leader class. Hasbro are the RIP-OFF KINGS!

I have this idea as well. The regular Dinobots are hard as it is to complete, no way I could ever double-dip with exclusives that I'll have to import.

He also comes with two Micromasters which I'm sure add $10-$15 to the cost, but he does still seem priced a bit high.

I'd say it's more than a bit too high. That Soundwave set is a redeco of the Netflix set which was 40 bucks in store. No reason to add 20-22 bucks to the price just because of a comic. A comic is only going to be like 3 bucks max, maybe a little more these days.
Flamewar would be another example. The Arcee mold with a battle master at 42 bucks? Yikes!
If Pulse has another sale like they did last year where the savings are legit, then I'll pick up more of this line. I certainly want to because the decos are pretty nice. So far I only have Starscream, Goldbug, and Blurr from this line but I questioned myself afterwards for dropping 100 bucks on them.

I doubt they'll do the other Dinobots, but if they do keep in mind that from here on out these are not Pulse exclusives, they'll be sold wherever Selects are sold.
The comics averaged an $8 markup which is about what comic collectors usually pay for exclusive covers, there's nothing unusual about that price, people just aren't used to it. They probably should have made it optional, though, since some of us got duplicates when we bought two or three of the same figure.

Regardless, forcing people to buy an overpriced comic that they'll never read suck. And if you want the whole story, you must buy the entire line.
That's a great nope for me.
That why I was pretty happy to find SG Screamers and Megs at my local GameStop for normal retail. I also avoid buying anything from Pulse appart the HASLAB because of their stupid 30$US shipping policies, PLUS charging full taxes.
I bought my SG Magnus from AliExpress. 115$CAN, but no comic, no taxes, no customs. I saved 15$CAN compared to Pulse. I may get Soundwave this way too.

Oh, I would if I were an American that can benefit from the free shipping from Pulse. But as a Canadian, my Pulse purchases has to be very choosy. Plus only the toys from Pulse come with the comic. Any other editions from other countries don't have the comic.
So far, I have SG Megs, Screamers, and Magnus. All 3 came without comics.
The only ones I got from Pulse was because of a huge sale so even with that 30$US shipping, the toys came at the normal Canadian retain overall. Those are Goldbug and Blurr. Their comics remains untouched.

Yeah, thanks. I have dual copies of the comics, exclusive and retail.
That's not even the point we were discussing - he was saying he wasn't going to read the ones he got, but that makes sense if he isn't getting all the comics because he's in Canada and not getting the figures from Pulse, which he made clear. The availability of the comics is irrelevant if he's not otherwise reading comic books.

Stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill, if there is a big graphic novel available that contain the whole story from start to finish available at my local comic book store (or online at normal retail with free shipping) I'd buy it.
Over 20 years ago I used to buy American comic books. But they phased out for manga and now, I just read them on pirate sites. No way am I going to buy comics chapters by chapters like I used to be. Especially not at 10$ a comic. But a complete physical graphic novel (for the right price) feel nice in hand from times to times.
