Pete Sinclair wrote:The 'Collections' one shot takes place at some point after the Beast Wars. We haven't even defined what Universe this is from. One thing that seems to be the case, as you all know, is Beast Wars exists in many different timelines. This may be another timeline that has similar traits to the G1 toon continuity, Wings continuity or whatever other ones that are floating out there and contains Beast Wars but also contains one of these little stories that are specific to THAT timeline.
Jesse Wittenrich wrote:Yup. And a significant amount of time after the Beast Wars as well. The fighting took place across the entire planet, spreading parts and pieces everywhere. Including the bottom of an ocean *looks at Depth Charge's fin and Rampage's claw*. Packrat has spent a LONG time on his collection; he's picked up everything, not just the pile we see in one panel.

I could actually see that considering they will have the Combaticon/Aerialbot molds to work with. I hope they do, that way I can mash my 2 FP Bruticus sets together into Energon Bruticus Maximus. Right now I'm using the old one as Nexus Prime.

Wrong thread, X. This is the fiction thread, not the toy reveal thread.Rated X wrote:They might as well just show off the convention exclusives seeing how two of them have already been leaked. And what ever happened to the infamous thread merging? I would think everything Botcon 2015 would and should be on one thread. Its not like theres that much of it. And thats the problem. Their marketing strategy is dumb. And im loving all these leaked figures from China. They should take the wake up call seriously and just show off the goods.

This is in the Cartoon and Comics Forum. And this isn't strictly a BotCon 2015 thread either. I'm the one who created this thread, and did so to let it be a general nexus of discussion for all BotCon and TCC related fiction, past and present, as stated on Page 1 of this thread.Rated X wrote:And what ever happened to the infamous thread merging? And even regardless of that, your post about toys was off topic for the news story you commented on anyway, as the news was about a comic page that had nothing to do with the toys you mentioned.
So please, if you wish to discuss those toys, take it back to the BotCon 2015 Transformers Exclusives Toy Reveals thread and leave it there.

I like that this is a sort of follow up to the previous "Timeless" story, and that Heinrad is making good on his promise to help Thrustinator once they get this business over with.
With Packrat here being an anomaly that doesn't belong in this post-Beast Wars setting, I gotta wonder if the other four crooks are likewise anomalies as well. I originally just took them to being ordinary dudes who wound up in Axiom Nexus like any ol' Offworlder, but with Packrat introducing the "anomaly" thing in this, it has me curious.

Well if you think about it, for oilmaster it'd play off the fact he was never released, like there's only one of him or something. But for Megatron let me propose an analogy.
Spoilers for a game it's your own fault for not playing for years ago now. Okay so at the end of bioshock infinite; the protagonist Booker DeWitt learns that the antagonist, Zachary Hale, Comstock is infact himself from an alternative timeline that split into multiple after one decision. This decision was to be "born again" in baptism to wash away all the horrible things he'd done. If he went through with it, he'd become the zealous American Exceptionalist Comstock. If he backed out booker would remain the same. Long story somewhat shorter, Elizabeth, Booker's companion and daughter decide to set things right that once went wrong because despite the fact they succeeded, there are still infinite others that died or failed horrifically. To solve this Elizabeth drowns booker as he goes through the baptism to circumvent Comstock, and related timelines from being created, making Booker dying if he is baptized a constant because she's sorta god. Flash forward to the second to last DLC for the game, Burial at Sea. In B@S you learn the booker you've been playing as is infact Comstock, but how could this happen? Well sometime before and during the climax of infinite proper, this Comstock was so ract with guilt after accidentally killing Elizabeth, he flees to an alternate universe to escape his past. Meaning that he was severed from his universe, meaning when booked was drowned at the end of infinite to prevent Comstock from existing, his timeline ceased to exists but because he was completely severed from it, making him anomalous. That's why hard cor noir Elizabeth decided to kill him, because he shouldn't exists. What if the same is true with movie Megatron? Now we all now the movie operate by Saturday morning cartoon logic, the bad guy always loses. What if that was interpreted literally. Think about all the ways Megatron could've died. He could've died on impact arriving on earth. He could've never been found due to some reason and remind in ice. Sector 7 could've destroyed him trying to solve the mysterious nature of him or maybe because man is not meant to have this much power, or something. What if Frenzy died, or sam died, or starscream just gave up and he was never found in the Hoover Dam. What if there were no parts of the allspark left,, or the decipticons never bothered to resurrect him in ROTF. Or maybe he got all of his head blown off instead of most of it at the end. Maybe between movies he just keeled over from his wounds. Anyway, the club bio suggests that this Megatron is one that didn't die at the end of Bark at the Moon, killing prime instead. What then? At thst point he's living on borrowed time, he'll die or get murdered because Saturday morning cartoon logic, the bad guy never wins. So the day comes and this bad enough dude to stop, Megatron named Rodimus comes along and is pretty content on killing him. So the two fight, and at the point it can go a few ways. Rodimus straight guts Megatron and kills him, or Megatron is killed by his doomsday weapon or space bridge or whatever because hubris. What is this is the one Megatron that goes against his nature and lets go into the unknown as the clubs bio suggests, this was the one variation that wasn't killed by the space bridge or whatever and went in at the right time, landing him in the nexus. This is the one Megatron that's not meant to be, he's the only Megatron that didn't lose or get murdered because he cut himself off from his own universe making him an anomaly.

Hmm, I could see it working for the notion of his being unreleased, but the "only one of him" bit might be a bit of a conflict since there's an Oilmaster in both the Japanese G1 cartoon continuity and in the Wing Universe. However, as both were seen with Magnificus (in his e-HOBBY Generations body, no less), it's possible someone could retcon the two Oilmasters (and the two Magnificuses) into being the same as each other, with the JG1 version having dimension-hopped into the Wingsverse or something.SW's SilverHammer wrote:Well if you think about it, for oilmaster it'd play off the fact he was never released, like there's only one of him or something.

Megatron definitely is the product of one. Remember his bio? Based on the climatic battle of Dark of the Moon, only with Megatron winning instead of being killed by Optimus?

I grabbed mine from Amazon maybe a yearish ago for a darn good price.
I really like the BW Neo figures. Wish I had more.
The Heinrad depicted in this comic appears to have big wheels on his back.

Well my logic behind it is that a rolling thunder or General OP fits within the military police more than skids. Also it's possible it's not really an Optimus Prime, there isn't to much connection to him being a prime in character outside of name considering that it looks nothing like OP, even in the original figure, and has no known fiction behind it.

And can we say "General Optimus Prime" confirmed? The shape of the gun aimed at Megatron and the gang is similar to Gen. Roadbuster's.

I've read a few of them. Since I got Lio Convoy figure in a few days ago I have his text story bookmarked but not read yet. The text stories are cool but of course comics with pictures would be preferred I am still slowly making my way thru the older Wreckers TFCC/Botcon comics. But I like comics of the SS 2.O and newer characters better.

Yeah, I guess that's the trade off. The comics have imagery, but are small things with little substance. While the text stories don't have much imagery, but have the substantial storytelling meat.Moonshot wrote:I've read a few of them. The blue and yellow Seeker-bodied characters will now be known, to those of you following this exciting development, as Nova Storm and Ion Storm, and join their sibling Acid Storm. Read more below, and here, and check out the artwork by fellow Seibertronian bdixonarts!
Dear Vector Prime,
What are the names of the yellow and blue seekers who, along with Acid Storm, make up the trio known as the Rainmakers?
.
.
Dear Precipitation Pal,
The Rainmakers are foes most perilous, doing Shockwave's cold bidding on Cybertron and, in some timestreams, on Earth.
The yellow Seeker is known as Nova Storm. This humorless knave nearly winged me with his Trilithium Crystal Cannons. His armor is hardened against heat and radiation, enabling him to function in the heart of a volcano or even, for a short period of time, the outer chromosphere of a star. He is one of the few bots able to withstand the presence of Sunstorm, Shockwave's prototype for Seeker body-modification, for extended periods.
The blue Seeker goes by Ion Storm. I am fortunate enough to have never encountered this cocky Decepticon, for he is an electrokinetic of the first order. This ability could, in theory, generate an electromagnetic pulse and disable all electronics in an area, though I suspect doing so would leave him nearly helpless.
I'd like to thanks Brandy Dixon for providing the artwork, and Betsy Blackie and Bill Forster (along with Brandy) for help with names and bios. Dixon is the colorist, with line art by Rui Onishi and Berious.
