The only thing that is more than just a rumour are the listings from Hasbro (that have since been taken down) which name a voyager Quintesson and a deluxe Quintessa. It's rather interesting that even though Quintessons are a G1 staple since the 86 movie, they haven't appeared much in toylines. The last time we got one from Hasbro was in the Energon line from the previous decade. And even then, it was more an homage to G1 rather than an actual representation of the G1 characters. It seems the only Quintesson related characters we keep getting are the Sharkticons.
But now, finally, we are getting a Quintesson figure and a voyager, no less. While fans were wondering if it would transform or not, the latest rumours indicate that it will in some way. It is meant to be a mainline figure in a Transformers line so that does make sense and I would speculate as such. Of course, I'd expect the Quintesson mode (the only mode we have seen in the cartoon) will be the main one and what it transforms into to be a secondary function. Then again the Siege line gave us a good example of a G1 toy that only had one mode back in the day, Brunt, and it turned out to be a pretty good transforming toy. The fact that some rumours did mention a rotating head gimmick would mean this is the Judge type Quintesson (which seems to be the default type when thinking of Quintessons).
As for the deluxe Quintessa figure, the mystery is we don't even know what that could even be. Sure, we had a Quintessa in the Last Knight movie but the Generations line has been bent on G1. Even Barricade, who would be a crossover character from the films, was released in a fully G1 look as opposed to a Generations style version of his movie look, which has already been designed. Just to say that in the Generations line, the Quintessa figure would probably not even look like what she was in the film, nor even be a crossover character. We also need to remember that Quintessa is also the name of the planet and Hasbro has been known to change a character's name into a location associated to that character when releasing a toy (like Darkmount). So what else could that Quintessa listing be? Well, since it's a deluxe and we are getting G1 Quintessons, I would speculate something in regards to G1. If Hasbro is indeed going down that line to give us toys from that part of the G1 film, the other candidates for toys could be the Prosecutor or Professor type Quintesson. Another possibility, especially when thinking of it transforming, would be the Allicons. These are characters we never got before. Then again we could always get several of these Quintesson themed characters since while we know only of two listings, there could be more we do not know about.
So this is what is out there being discussed and I wanted to bring that here. What do you hope the Quintesson figure to look like? And what do you think the Quintessa figure reffers to? What would be ideal to you? Let us know!

No mere Deluxe class toy would do that Quintessa any due justice.

I'm really hoping with the release of Earthrise Prime Megatron gets the attention he rightfully deserves and HasTak please fix that problem with his head not pegging on proper as I have heard...'nuff said!

That would be tough considering a TR Ultra Magnus doesn't exist.
If you mean CW Ultra Mags, good luck. I don't think he has a useful 5mm port to attach Soundbarrier as a shield, and his hand would be pretty useless for that.

There is a TR Ultra Magnus but he's only a head and was included with TR Arcee

I wish we could have gotten a titan zombie, that would have been awesome

Holy crap talk about mental moment! Yeah I meant CW Magnus indeed. I'm not a fan of Siege UM. I'm sure Soundbarrier won't peg on at all but both side by side would look great IMO.

They're pinned in there so I'll have to be careful, plus the hands are hinged, making it all the more tricky. Anyway, it'll be fine. Interestingly enough, the package art shows blue hands, but we knew there were logistical issues preventing that.

No doubt a selects version with a diff pcolor scheme in the works but it still wont get rid of the outy 5mm ports that mar the arms/shoulders.

EDIT: Another thing of note is that we're back to the trailer port being split between the two legs, 2/3 on one and 1/3 on the other, when the Takara stock images showed the port as being all on one leg.

Additionally, we have images of Optimus out of packaging and giving us some action poses, as well as showing us what is likely the final deco for the figure. A while back, there were images posted of what now seems to be a custom painted figure, with blue hands and codpiece, as well as blue eyes, rather than the G1 toy accurate yellow eyes.
What do you think of these pictures? Will Optimus end up with grey hands and yellow eyes? Or were those previous images a hand painted sabine of what the figure will turn out to look like? Feel free to speculate below!

Possibly holding him back for a Micromaster release? A small part of me is hoping we'll see a G1 styled IDW Roller released, with one accesory being the standard Roller, but I know that that's very unlikely

But I got my MP, and a custom painted Siege OP as my go-to G1 OP already. With maxed out shelf space and limited toy spending budget, unless it changes my mind in-hand, I really don't need to pick this one up...
It'd be a different story if I never had the Siege version. Maybe if it's on sale and shelfwarming, I might pick it up to help clear my local toy store space... if I feel generous.

Worst case scenario: There was no way to rectify the blue hands, so a 3rd party company will likely make an upgrade kit.
Medium case scenario: The hands are blue, yet the eyes remain yellow, so I will use a gel pen to blueify them.
Best case scenario: The in-hand photos are not customized and the prime will have the blue hands and eyes.
About roller: Roller might likely be sold at the battle master price point.
I am currently thinking of ways that Hasbro could pull a siege and release a superior version of this mold. The only thing I can think of at the moment is a classic animation counterpart which seems rather unlikely. I do hope that there is a Nemesis prime repaint possibly released through selects.

I am a bit hopeful that these "in-box" images are still early mock-ups and not finalized products. For one, the "out of box" pics are the same ones from Hasbro's press release about Earthrise at NYCC, so the in-box shots might be similarly old and out of date. Second, looking at the figure in the box, it looks like it's not really carefully posed at all. Optimus Prime's legs are extremely spread out, and all that's securing him in place is two paper ties around the torso. In a package like this, we'd more likely get two clear plastic trays fitting one atop the other, the bottom one to hold the trailer in place, and one over that to keep Optimus Prime and his accessories in place. The box art and actual cardboard is likely finalized product, but I'd not be surprised if they still didn't have a finalized production sample of Optimus Prime or the inner packaging ready by the time they shot these pictures.

Now the only thing it needs is the middle pelvis rectangle to be yellow and to have the yellow arrow decal on the forearms, which Reprolabels will likely fix easily.

1: why break up the trailer with a shield gimmick and not have functional regular doors?
2: the colors of plastic and lack of paint literally make the trailer look like it died in the 86 movie.. lolz
3: eyes are blue now, but the face behind the mask is a dark blue? meh yay for blue hands at least.
4: elbows should be red, I agree with previous commenter
5: reprolabels can fix the yellow arrows and center rectangle on crotch piece, but couldn't they have too?
6: those gray panels on the insides of the legs where the trailer connector port REALLY bother me.. they were blue in one of the promo images, and it really made the legs feel cohesive. Now I can't unsee them.
7: where is ROLLER?
8: enough with the transforming gun gimmick..
9: definitely should've had the tires in the back fold up in a way that you don't see the rectangle in the back
10: final thoughts: the mold is good, but lack of Roller and the back door on the trailer bleh, and the need to get a professional custom painter to repaint it would be a hassle. do we even know if the siege cars fit inside the trailer? I hate to say it, but with the reprolabels on Siege Prime that I have... I think I'm going to pass on this one.

Blue eyes is always a yay for me with Optimus, though I can certainly agree that yellow provides a better contrast.
The elbow joints should be red in Optimus, yes, but the dark grey doesn't look bad, at least. Not like the blue plastic elbows we saw in some of the recent Takara Tomy photography!
It would have been nice had they colored in the yellow rectangle on the pelvis. That's a weird omission, but the lack of yellow arrows on the wrists isn't as big a deal to me. That's not a detail from either the show or the original toy. I'd have to do some digging, but I think it's one of those weird things that happened because of the old Studio OX promotional drawings and such, kind of like the silver painted shin vents that should be solid blue like the rest of the lower legs.
The gray panels on the insides of the legs did bother me at first, but they bother me much less so now. I think the additional blue paint apps on the fists and pelvis have helped make that issue much less drastic instead of "one more thing wrong" with the deco.
It would be nice to have Roller with the whole package, but he might be a later Battle Master release, or part of a Micromaster set. There are a few other modern Roller options out there too, like the one that came with Legends Optimus Prime in Thrilling 30.
I think the way this Earthrise Optimus Prime transforms is just fine. The kibble on the back is no worse than what we've seen with other iterations. He's had a big bumper butt before with "Classics," Combiner Wars prime had a bunch of combiner-related compromises, and Siege Prime has a huge flat panel on his back that you can see clearly from the front. The tires in the small of the back I think may be another Studio OX thing, too.
