Pretty much, while I don't think it's a retool, it's definitely a case of shared engineering.

Its not a remold at all.
It shares a ton of engineering, with Kingdom AirRazor, but is significantly larger.
It basically uses the same transformation and parts only scaled up a bit, so a different larger mold.

Yes, it's very mistransformed if we assume it transforms the same way as Kingdom Airrazor. The torso should be slid down closer to the legs, and the legs should be tucked into the body more.

It wouldn't be the first time that even the 'official' photos had a figure mis-transformed. I guess 'shared engineering' is closer to the mark than remolded, given it is larger and all...

Different molds, but one apes the transformation engineering of the other.

Also , these examples show that even at the same Price point, Hasbro/TT scan even slightly scale up and down on things. I'm keeping that in mind for possible future TF's that are too small, or too big.

Well, BW Airazor was male in Japan, so it's not like the original Airazor was always only a female anyway.Cheetron wrote:I'm getting male transformer vibes from this one. Big, kinda bulky. Not airrazor to me

almost as if its parts count and R&D that determine the price point and not the size, something they've told us for years now

We've seen this for a few figures now. With the advent of CAD files, you can reuse transfomation more easily to make a new toy that has a very similar transformation to another one. It's not a remold in the sense that any aspect of the previous actual mold was used, but more like a reskin using the previous CAD files, which then leads to a fully new mold.

I was thinking more along the lines of... With the case of CW/UW Devastator. I like the toy well enough, but I prefer a smaller one that scaled with the rest of the CW/UW combiners. There was a scaled down KO that met that need that I purchased, but for the longest time, we were always told Hasbro couldn't just "scale up" or "scale down" the design and re release a toy at a different size. Now they may not WANT to, but this shows they clearly CAN do it...

I am guessing 94 is Buzzworthy Hatchet and 98 is the 3rd deluxe of the wave.

We can expect engineering sharing for the SS figures. Likely new or at least significantly altered molds for mainline as has been seen with Air Razor.
Still haven't seen one of the Cheetors. Wether the one we have seen is mainline or SS I don't think has been confirmed.
Expect Rhinox and Primal in SS to share some degree of engineering with Kingdom Rhinos and Primal. Which isn not a bad thing.
Kingdom Primal is pretty good. If they enlarge him like they did with AiRazor, I would approve.

I can confirm, the cheetor we gave seen is mainline, not SS. Also, in total honesty, I don't see much sharing, even transformation wise between Kingdom Cheetor and ROTB Cheetor.

Thanks. Make sense its mainline rather than SS since it shares very little. I can see the arms end up in the same place and the thighs do similar things to Kingdom Cheetor, but it's much less obvious than AirRazor.
We'll see if SS Cheetor looks closer to Kingdom then.

I really hope it borrows nothing from Kingdom since the final model for live action cheetor does not have the beast mode limbs in his back. Instead, the bot mode reuses the same limbs ala beast machines.

I haven't watched the movie - because, ya know - Bayverse. But I hope they at least didn't do with the "Terrorcons" what they did with the Decepticons in the TLK movie. Just gather a random gang in a heist-style montage. Then have them attack once in only one scene, get totally clobbered, then run away and never be seen again.

And the best thing about Transformers is adapting and changing things. So, I'm agreeable to the changes, since that's like... the whole thing.

Chinese SNS boards are mumbling about how they're getting sent out to the KC Toy Safety "Korean Certification standards" where figures are reviewed for making sure they pass QC to be sold in the region.
We've seen this before time and time again, specially with early WFC and SS 86 they typically have a card of numbers under the figures in the pictures.
So this is another or parallel source of leaked toys. Toys, before being packaged, get sent to places in asia for review (I'd guess Korea specifically here). Now I don't know what happens to the toys after, but it's another case of these toys being out of factories and into hands that are not Hasbro's before they are ready for distribution. We don't know what other scenarios or reasons there would be, we didn't know this one.

Watch the ss be bot mode accurate and the other be alt mode accurate
