Amazon.com is now taking pre-orders for Transformers the Movie (1986) Soundtrack, which will be released on May 29. As we reported previously here, the re-released soundtrack will contain three additional scores as well as an alternate Transformers theme, which were not included on the original soundtrack.

i got the cd a few years ago. i was disapointed it didn't have unicrons theme

I got the Botcon CDs, and the soundtrack so I have no use for the updated one. Also, in case anyone doesn't know, the band who performed the best metal songs on the album, Spectre General, is really a Canadian act called Kick Axe. They're pretty good, if you like 80's glam/thrash metal. Their last album "Kick Axe IV" is probably their best, with the most creative songs, but they're all worth checking out.

I already have an older version, but I'm intrested in what the extra score tracks sound like.

So I won't preorder it, but it is a maybe.

I thought an alternate version of the theme had already been released in soundtrack form.

I'm not pre-ordering either, but I'm definitely going to watch for this to come out.

Hurray! Something I summited as news got listed on the front page! Woo Hoo! :grin:

Anyway, I would love to have a remastered soundtrack. I have the original and listen to it, and the Botcon CDs, all of the time. Some of the stuff of the Botcon CDs is much better recording quality than that on th official soundtrack, so this will be nice to have! I bet the three addtional score will be "2005", "Attack on the Shuttle", and "Unicron's Theme." The only other contender that I see is "Gone Fishin'", since it is obviously one of Vince's favorites!

Can't wait for May 29!
