Now that we've got your attention and let your minds stew over the picture, "Transformers: War Journal" is a full 22-page web comic created by Transformers fans that will be released on 31 st of December, 2007.
The one thing that the "Transformers: Mosaic" project has shown, is that when fans come together to achieve a shared vision, there is no limit to what can be accomplished. Allthough not directly linked to "Transformers: Mosaic", "Transformers: War Journal" is produced by some of its memebers and is kind of the next evolution to the project.
In "Transformers: War Journal", a group of Autobots are marooned on an alien planet fighting a loosing battle against a superior Decepticon force. The story focuses on the war's affect on the individual; what adversities they have to overcome, what responsibilities they have to bare and what sacrifices they have to make.
We'll be peeling away pieces of the above picture, both here and http://tf-war-journal.deviantart.com/ as well as releasing previews until the final release on New Years Eve.

Yep, it was mentioned in passing back then.

Me too; It's always nice to see some of the less "iconic" characters get some attention/exposure. And I agree that First Aid is an intriguing choice, poor fellow.

Heh! That would be cool, but... I have to say if the Aerialbots are in it, since they always seem to be so close-knit in their appearances, it'd be more intriguing to explore what happens when one or more of them isn't available. (As much as I love Silverbolt, I think he'd be the most interesting-resulting choice to leave out, since he seems to be the glue that keeps the others in line and focused.)
That's just idle ponderings from me, though. I look forward to whatever the writers have come up with.

I don't think so... Powerglide's head is flush in his cone, whereas this one looks to have his head in front of the nosecone (the way the Aerialbots do).

War Journal features more than just the 4 characters pictured here... some of them may be the other Protectobots... or not...

It's connected to IDW's universe. Sort of.

We tried really hard to keep in in continuity, but it was a bit tricky not knowing what IDW had planned.
we had to make a few changes as new solicits were announced.

I'd say just write what you need to for the story and not let what IDW does worry or bother you. Most people are concerned just with the characters and more familiar with the shows, I'd wager. Certainly I'm still catching up on the *old* TF comics, let alone the new ones.
