In his home universe, "Hero" Optimus Prime was the sworn protector of Earth and its super energy source, forestonite. Along with fellow Autobots Electro and Volt, and the human boy Junpei, the Autobot Leader was able to repel Megatron and the Decepticons' attack. Although Megatron promised he would return to conquer not just the Earth but the entirety of the Milky Way galaxy, Prime stood vigilant, ready to thwart him at every turn!
Following the theft of the Rarefied Energon from the Classics Universe, chaos spread and soon found its way across the multiverse, threatening existence everywhere. Optimus Prime was selected by certain members of TransTech to leave his universe and travel to Axiom Nexus to be inducted into the newly formed group known as The Convoy - a collective of high-ranking Autobots from across the multiverse.

Loving that artwork. But isn't Hero Optimus supposed to be Generation 1 rebuilt in the original Generation 2 line back in the late 80's/early 90's?

OOOHH SNAP! Haha... I used to have this figure... loved it. Was one of the best G2 figures in my collection.

Cool as the pic is, I do sort of agree with X that the artist's unflattening of the chest somehow makes it look like an Optimus who put on the wrong trousers just before his tour of the multiverse; yes, it's an improvement, as was Senior's redesign, but that is the weird effect. Still, I'm sure he'll be a credit to the council.

But you actually pose an interesting question there, inadvertintly. Is FunPub gonna cannonize the Hero Prime repaint from HTS, or are we to expect now a Botcon release of the Rodimus (thunderclash's) mold of him, because the similarites are really not far off...

Only similarities I see are the legs and a teenee little bit of the truck. Other than that, Energon Rodimus as Hero Prime wouldn't look real good...

Wow, thats a real figure ??? Im learning G2 one figure at a time. Im not a big fan of the fake cab windows on his chest just for the sake of looking G1.

G2 Laser Optimus and Hero Optimus are both that way. They look great, and that's all that matters to me! You should really check out the G2 line more, there were a ton of pretty great (and oddball) figures! For example, remember that Generations giftset with the redeco of RtS Prime, Jazz, legends Thundercracker, and legends Motormaster? Jazz's deco is of course inspired by G2 Jazz. Prime's deco is the unreleased redeco of this guy here! G2 "Combat Hero" Optimus Prime was to be a blue and red redeco of Hero Optimus Prime.

"Darkwind" however is a great mold and a great inspiration for Energon Starscream.

Who is that little fella to the left? I have seen him before but unsure who he is/was and what series did he come from?
Also has he been repainted elsewhere and as whom? (I dont ask for much me! )
From that picture, he looks really well articulated in all areas which is what I love from a Transformer, the more the better!

Perhaps you saw him in green? That's thesame mold that gave us the RID Smokejumper/Dread figures at Target.

And of course it's the inspiration for Energon Starscream and Cybertron Thundercracker/Skywarp. Of course you could argue for the sake of G2's Cyberjets in general too, more in the latter case than the former.

They're a good pair of molds, aren't they? So much they've been repainted up to three times:
- G2 Dreadwing & Smokescreen (Stealth Assault & Ace Evader in EU)
- BWII Starscream & BB
- RiD Dreadwind & Smokejumper
- Robot Masters Smokesniper & Gigant Bomb
As for this Hero Prime, it looks like this guy comes from either Primax 388.0 Gamma, or Primax 787.3 Alpha, the two main Japanese G1 continuities, judging from "Forestonite", hailing from G-2, and especially Junpei

I wouldn't mind a modern update either, such as we got with Laser Prime.

He's from Primax 895.0 Gamma, since "The New Battle!!" was part of no pre-existing continuity.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:As for this Hero Prime, it looks like this guy comes from either Primax 388.0 Gamma, or Primax 787.3 Alpha, the two main Japanese G1 continuities, judging from "Forestonite", hailing from G-2, and especially Junpei

The Hero was released in Europe without the (obnoxious) "Optimus Prime". As a trade-off, he was renamed Sureshot, and in modern fiction he seems to be a sufferer of Primus Apotheosis
