Also, looks nothing like Barricade from the Prime universe.
Come on FunPub, you're slacking.

And guys, give the fiction and his backstory the benefit of the doubt. We don't know if he actually is Prime Barricade, or another Barricade that has a Prime-styled body. And how many of you have re-purposed Slipstream as G1, despite her possibly not hailing from that continuity?
Also, some features of the model do match up: the legs, the hips and the chest. The rest, not so much.

HELLO, GIMME THAT RIGHT NAO

Slap a familiar name on an already overused mold and charge triple retail. These sub figures are an insult.

Probably because they can't just throw a new head and a light bar on top of the Vehcion mold.
Honestly, I absolutely adore this guy.

Look good too.
Well When they reveal Rewind you may be a bit happier.

On a side note...
Can I get a Mod to delete that first post so I don't have a "Double"? I'm getting "general error" messages like mad on here and it won't let me delete the first post. Thanks.

Where did you hear Rewind? If it's Chromedome, Rewind being a possible partner was just a silly thought based on nothing.

I could definitely see them doing that though from the Reveal the Shield "Demolition" Rumble mold. But that's just me.
Am I seriously the only person on Seibertron that actually loves the crap out of this Barricade?

Happy they didn't give him that screwed up head like in Universe
Unfortunately I have other figures that need my wallet, so he's gonna have to be on the wait list
Now doesn't that look bad?

By the time it comes out, it won't be a "recently released" figure anymore. Prowl's out this year, this comes out next year.SW's SilverHammer wrote:And here I thought megaplex was just a fluke in regards to the club using recently released figures.
And this is likely just a digital mock up and not a photo of an actual toy.

True but we'd normally be getting these mock ups that year, not this one. you have to admit it's a little odd to see theses club mock ups so soon after a figure's release.

How come? If it's out now and won't be released by the Club until many many months later, reaching into the following year, isn't just another case of the Club waiting till the next calendar year to use a mold from the previous calendar year.SW's SilverHammer wrote:Sabrblade wrote:By the time it comes out, it won't be a "recently released" figure anymore. Right i know it will be out next year. The thing is for me, when the club uses relatively newer figures, mockups using that new figure don't normally don't come out around the same time as the base figure's sited at retail. It just feels odd that it's so soon. It wouldn't have felt odd to me, if these pictures came out say around the winter months.

It's a pity, too, since his profile is so slim, you'd think they would have been able to push some of it to his back.
I know the point has been discussed thoroughly in the past, but the mock-up brings those feelings back. Oy.

It's a shame you never gave any of the fixes for that a try, there are a handful of really good ones that aren't too difficult.

#1: This one doesn't completely remove the issue, and there's more partsforming, but it's actually a surprsingly dramatic difference. http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/beast-hunters-smokescreen-mod-t93587s300.php
Disclaimer: I haven't tried any of these!
#2: It involves some partsforming, but if that doesn't bother you, go for it. The end result is quite nice. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/821161-beast-hunters-smokescreen-arm-kibble-mod.html
#3: A modification of the previous example, which involves no partsforming (well, less partsforming), and instead utilizes the fact that you just made a sort of 3mm clip after snipping the arm kibble off. It slides on easily (allegedly) to the bottom of Smokescreen's door wing. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/821161-beast-hunters-smokescreen-arm-kibble-mod-9.html#post9180078
I'm sure there are others as well, if you poked around a bit, but those are the few I've looked at in the past that I was able to find again.

As much as I like most of Movie Barricade's design, I don't think it translated well to his toys. He's one of those Movie Decepticons whose head design I just can't quite like, particularly because I don't think any of the toys got it right. Plus they all seem to have weird proportion issues, specifically in the utter lack of an abdomen. Feel free to prove me wrong, I'd be happier for it, but I just can't quite like any of them.

Unless the next two figures are positives, I'm going to pass on the TFSS and just get them through resellers.

Or this
Someone commented on the shade of purple, it looks like FoC Kickback purple to me... Although Vehicon Purple would work for me.

And by the way, for it being a repaint, he looks damn close to the actual design, they just need to give him a better head (unlikely) and reduce some of the purple.

The 'Prime' aesthetic is often considered (in a simplified way) to be some combination of Animated and Movieverse aesthetics, so it makes sense that you would say that.

I do, however, like the vehicle mode. And honestly, I think the robot mode fits the above mentioned art fine. But the head...
Now now, someone mentioned using the PRID vehicon for the character. With the Reprolabels for movie-Barricade, that might not be too much of a stretch.

Actually, the final toy's headsculpt does not feature the smirk seen in previous images.
