Stylor is the S.2 mold.
Catgut is the Jida mold.

Frenzy should have been all gray instead of G1 red, to better homage the versions they're homaging.

Well, this could just be a preliminary name.Dead Metal wrote:Why call them Microns? Shouldn't these be Mini-Cons or "Deployers"?

Ah Ok, not knowing who Stylor was I assumed the red gray guy in the front was Frenzy.

About time Microns got an American release. Though it's disappointing that they had to be uber exclusives.
I assume the black/gray coloredMicron is Frenzy?
We were shown Chromedome's full reveal, correct? Other than the head concept, obviously.
The sixth reveal can't get here soon enough.

You ever watched/read any stories featuring the old G1 Headmasters (actually as Headmasters, that is)?Dead Metal wrote:NemesisBee wrote:I think the one in front is Stylor and the other is Frenzy. I'm betting they require assembly, like their Japanese counterparts. I'd actually prefer that, rather than seeing what rush/hack job they did if they assembled them pre-ship.
Putting them together is actually some nostalgic fun, for those of you who built any sort of model kit once upon a time. The sticker applications, however, are total hell.
If any of you have NOT bought microns before, let me offer one piece of advice: THE STICKERS GET APPLIED AS YOU BUILD THE KIT, NOT AFTER! Especially important is the faction symbol that goes behind the crystal - I foolishly tried to apply stickers post-build, and you can not remove that crystal part on some of these guys, no matter how hard you try!
Ehhh, this may not be that much of an addition, but it's still a nice thought. Can't wait to sign up for this!

I know it's G1, but the name remains rather unfortunate. Poor bot.

Yes I did, have it on DVD in fact. But matter of the fact is, they and their headmasters where such minor and forgettable characters that showed up for a whooping 3 episodes isn't actually enough for me to care enough for them to actually remember their names.

The Optimus Prime + Gaia Unicron had the Micron already assembled and painted. I'm expecting the same to be done here. I'm praying they assemble S.2 correctly and not as shown in his instructions

And I'd been wanting to do some Targetmasters out of them (The crab guy who came with Knockout for Botcon Banzaitron for example) So it's kinda cool to see I'm really not that far off my rocker.
That being said, the Memnosurgeon seems to be trading in his finger needles...for a saw... I don't think I want him rooting around in MY processor anymore...

Actually, Barricade will receive Sou, who is the saw. Chromedome will get S.2, who was Smokescreen's little bow-looking dude.

Fall of Cybertron Decepticon Frenzy (who's red)
Arms Micron AM-31 Frenzy (who's blue)
And now we have a new Frenzy (who's grey). Discounting US/Japan differences, if that Barricade is Prime Barricade, then what exactly is the new Frenzy? New character?

Frenzy can be any colour he wants, next we'll get one in Ravage and Lazerbeak colours.

And even if this causes a conflict that leads to Aligned having more than one individual named Frenzy, it can be an homage to how back in the day, you had to buy two Frenzies if you wanted both Laserbeak and Ratbat, and Rippersnapper was almost named Frenzy as well. The "only one Steve" rule is hardly in play in that continuity anyway.Dead Metal wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:And I just suddenly realised something: we already have 2 versions of Aligned Frenzy:

Sweetie, that rule went out the window the moment we got Micromasters Sky High and Barrage back in 1990.

Same with Treadshot going from Actionmaster to Targetmaster.
(Granted Hot Rod traded in his Targetmaster title to become a Micromaster but that was years ago, and he has sense changed back, sorta)
-The idea of Barricade being a Decepticon Cop is just awesome. I imagine he'd actually get along with Prowl and other Law Enforcement tasked Cybertronians. I imagine he would inflict his "Justice" on any and all Cybertronians that broke his code of "Law".

Also, the Gacha Arms Microns were all packed pre-assembled and painted, so there's also that precedence.

Who knows, this could be a third body for Aligned Frenzy.
Toywise, yeah.Poyguimogul wrote:I can't believe no one has brought up the fact that the once and former Headmaster Chromedome has become the first to changed his "mastery" and become a Targetmaster.

But, on a fictive level, there's yet to be a "Master switch" for these guys.
Though, Dreamwave retconned all Action Masters with partners who turn into weapons as Targetmasters, so this isn't new for Treadshot.

The idw comics, but again as I said, those guys where so minor and unimportant in the toon I wouldn't know who they where in fiction due to not caring for them that much. to me they kinda blurr in with the toy-only characters and all new original characters And in the idw comics, Chromedome doesn't have a Headmaster partner, unless he's since gained one, not up-to date on them due to reading only the trades now.

So, none of Marvel's epic Headmasters mini-series or Headmaster-centric main comic issues? Or The Headmasters cartoon (in which Chromedome is the series protagonist)?Dead Metal wrote:The idw comics, but again as I said, those guys where so minor and unimportant in the toon I wouldn't know who they where in fiction due to not caring for them that much. to me they kinda blurr in with the toy-only characters and all new original characters And in the idw comics, Chromedome doesn't have a Headmaster partner, unless he's since gained one, not up-to date on them due to reading only the trades now.

Nope, dislike the Marvel comics output.
And Headmasters doesn't count, since you asked for Western fiction. Also, in Headmasters the Headmasters aren't separate beings that turn into heads, they are the actual character that combine with the Transector body to form the larger robot. So yea, I wouldn't recognize Chromedome's headmaster as a character.

Dude, I didn't care about them, I was busy reading the subtitles and rolling my eyes on the stupid that happened in there.
Yea, his headmaster unit might still look like Stylor, but how often did you actually get to see it, adding to that this Stylor repaint shares nothing with the original Stylor design, only the colours. but do you know how many characters share similar colours and colour patterns in this franchise?

Oh I can, but seriosuly, it's not a particularity eye-catching design, it just blends in with all the other pretty similar looking guys I don't care about.

Dude, I already said I had no idea who the hell Stylor was, or that they have a similar colour pattern.
I saw a red and dark gray robot and made the connection Frenzy. That's it.

Still, the press release did say Stylor comes with Chromedome, whose original gimmick was being a Headmaster (thereby having a small partner in his colors). And it said Frenzy comes with Barricade, whose Movie counterpart had a spinning blade weapon (which the Sou mold turns into).Dead Metal wrote:Dude, I already said I had no idea who the hell Stylor was, or that they have a similar colour pattern.

Don't fault him for not knowing there, bud. I myself to do a double take on Frenzy before making the connection with his Movie colors.

Dude, you may have not noticed, but I was gone for 9 months and didn't keep up with toy news on the silly Microns the Japanese Prime toys came with. So excuse me that I don't know that Sue turns into a damn spinning blade. Besides Movie Frenzy not only had a spinning blade thing going on, but he also turned into a boombox, a phone, had machineguns, had four arms and a pretty crab like face, he as also skinny as f**k.
Oh yes Chromedome's original thing was being a Headmaster, sure, but then again that micron doesn't tun into a head now does it? I also kinda seem to remember Chromedome being primarily brown and beige, while this Stylor here is kinda gray and red. So how the hell am I supposed to see this:
And imminently recognize the middle guy as being connected to this:
Especially when this exists:

But I wouldn't count on it. If anything they'll compromise and use the Stuntron Wildrider version of the mold which only had pegs added to the spoiler. Arms Micron Wheeljack also had holes in the hood.

Frenzy is either black and red or purple and blue, but he was in the movie and was grey/silver in the films, when he was with Barricade. It took a minute or two but I twigged it.
Catgut...I figured would be the cat looking dude coloured like Catgut.
