- Mark Vahradian, Paramount Producer talk (in room only)

We get our first look at the giant three headed Dragon toy from The Last Knight, which we previously saw here. This appears to be the same kind of simplified toy as the Age of Extinction giant one step Grimlock with very limited articulation and hollow plastic (as can be seen on the legs). Also, a promotional shot of the full extent of the line was shown.

Image
Image

We also have our fist look at the electronic All Spark tech toys. These are all spark cubes which can recognize the character they are in and if the toy is in alt mode or robot mode.

Image

The conference then covered all the Transformers related digital gaming coming our way, and how it's part of the storytelling process.

Image

They also discussed their expansion across China, already in action since Age of Extinction.

Image

Here is a look at the merchandising angle the brand is taking, in terms of officially licensed merch and apparel.

Image

We also got our first look at Robots in Disguise Combiner Force Bruticus!

Image

And they even revealed the Combiner Force Ultra Bee's toy

Image

The future of live events was also discussed, though not in any detail.

Image

Then it came to Rescue Bots. It seems the show isn't done yet, but might take on a different form.

Image

Image

More talk of the RC Sqweeks toy, and the character's presence in the movies.

Image

They also discuss how Transformers are all across the fashion industry, as seen with the Moschino show and collection in the past year and in catalogs:

Image

And ended with another way of looking at the same image of Trypticon, as the winner of the fan poll from the past years.

What horrible thing are they going to do with Sqweeks in the name of 'it's for the kids!'? After Wheelie, the twins, and Mojo, my expectations for Hasbro and Michael Bay are very low.

Depends what you are expecting. We now have a reveal of combiner force ultra bee and it is not 4 individual bots which combine. So this liekyl wont be either. Just a big gimicky toy.

Mobile Armored Strike Kommand under emergent brands? YES PLEASE. I'd love to get some MASK toys made with modern toy tech.

I think the recent image of Ultra Bee cofirms that they are non transforming, so it doesnt really matter if they are made up of 4 or 5 bots.

Knowing how much I loved Transformer Combiners and Power Rangers back in the day, a kid would love this individual robots or not.

That M.A.S.K. logo is really really tiny. But if they're planning on bringing back the franchise, I'd hope some re-issues from the Kenner line make it into it.

I always loved M.A.S.K, I think I even had more M.A.S.K toys than transformers.

Keep in mind dude, these toys aren't for your demographic unless you are a kid 6-10 in which case why aren't you in school? Kids want a toy they can just slam together easily. I have 2 kids and they get such a sense of accomplishment when they can transform their toys 'just like daddy dooz'. So before you say it's trash, keep in mind who it's for.

Gotta disagree. I convinced my younger brother to pick out Beeside and the toy is absolutely perfect for younger fans. If you're not seven to twelve, maybe they aren't for you, but "pure trash" is an inaccurate description, IMO.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. The Strongarm is oddly shaped at the elbow, leading me to believe the Z shape is to accommodate for her hands. Gimlock may have to split appear to combine, but it isn't impossible to pull a good looking mode from that *cough* Energon Omega Supreme *cough*

TBH, I'm a lot more interested in the Transformers: The Last Knight toyline. 1 thing that's kinda new is the AllSpark Tech toys. I know they look like One-Step Changers, but I wonder how that AllSpark cube works. :-? P.S.: Why the AllSpark cube design looks a lot different than than the one in Transformers (2007)? :???: Perhaps we might be seeing that AllSpark design in The Last Knight, probably, maybe it's a prototype version or there might be other versions of the AllSpark cube... Who knows? :-? & for the three-headed dragon (could be based on Cybertron Scourge because he has 3 heads, or just some entirely new :BOT:, :CON: or possibly a :BH-PREDACON: ), he looks so monstrous! He may be entirely dull-coloured in the movie (same goes for the Dinobots), but his black colour along with red & gold paint details really mix very well which makes him look a lot cooler. & yeah, like u guys said, he might be a retool of the AOE Stomp & Chomp Grimlock for he has a handle with trigger sitting on top of his dragon mode...

No one's settling for anything. You don't like it? Great then don't buy it. It's not like they're replacing anything with these figures, they're just supplemental gimmick toys. Kids love things like this so I don't get why you're so offended by them when they're so obviously not for you in the first place.

Plus, they're trying to make a fair line of COMPLETE COMBINERS as a "combiner wars" for younger kids. Tripredacus and Magnaboss were the only two combiners at that time were a big deal. Plus, your generation had different parents than this generation's. Plus, toy production costs are more, so they have to cut were they can. So, sorry, these are no Tripredacus (of which I've seen is crap anyways) and Magnaboss, but this what kids have nowadays.

Those were main line figures while these are not instead they exist alongside the main stuff for people like us.

Plus Transformers is and always will be plastic toys for kids ages lower then what we are so whether you like it or not we don't have any choice besides sucking up because things are not nor will they ever be liked they used to.

He isnt a retool, but he is a similar toy in the sense that it transforms all in one shot and doest have much articulation.

These arguments never quite make sense when they come up. If at the age these toys were aimed at you played with much more complex toys... well, good for you. But the human race is so complex that exact tastes and what you like to play with cannot be as easily defined as '9 year old' or '6 year old'. Some 11 year olds will yearn for the simplicity of Crash Combiners while some 7 year olds might pout at being given anything less than a Warrior class. It depends on the kid and not all of them are going to want a traditional Transformer or the like; some will want a simple One-Step or Mini-Con Deployer or what have you. Lumping all kids together as having the same taste based on what you liked when you were their age just because they're kids is extremely silly and a tad pretentious.

But then the same could be said reversely. If these simplified non transforming (as in individual bot modes) combiners are the only option for kids, then isnt Hasbro lumping all kids together as having the same taste and not wanting more?

Except they're not the only option for kids. They're one of many options among a myriad including One/Three-steps, Team Combiners, Warriors, RC vehicles... the list goes on.
That's the entire point I was making. By not sticking exclusively to traditional transformers like Generations, Hasbro is providing for many different playstyles and many different types of kids. I'm really not sure where you got 'Crash Combiners are the only option for kids' from :???:

And the price point isn't even that different between toy classes, so one can't make the argument that Hasbro is "forcing kids to buy certain toys because they're cheaper".

I dont understand. The entire debate here is about the combining toy. There is no other option for an RID Combiner other than the simplified ones. Its not like there is a more complex version for kids who would preffer that, so what do you mean by having different options? Hasbro is lumping all kids together for the RID combiners. Please show me how that isnt true. We only have what is seen below and all of it is simplified:

Kids can purchase and play with any toys in the Transformers lineup, same as adults. Hasbro isn't forcing anyone into anything. I think you're just trying to stir up an argument.

No I am just saying that both sides are lumping kids all togethere and no one is right. Everyone's taste is different and right now, this is what we are dealt with.

One thing that really resonated with me at Hasbro's presentation at BotCon 2014 was the explanation they gave for Transformers becoming simpler (with Revenge of the Fallen's toyline being the benchmark here for non-simple) which was that the toys were so complicated that even parents couldn't help the kids transform them, which was hurting the brand's reputation in their minds.

As such, any time I see toys like the one-step changers or these combiners I know they're not to my taste, or the taste I would have had as a kid either, but I recognize them as important rungs in the complexity ladder for the good of the brand.

I was making the point about toys in general, not combiners. I think we all know that Hasbro can't afford to make more complex combiners than the ones on show given how much sacrifice, complete line focus and cost-cutting went into Combiner Wars.

I dont understand. The entire debate here is about the combining toy. There is no other option for an RID Combiner other than the simplified ones. Its not like there is a more complex version for kids who would preffer that, so what do you mean by having different options? Hasbro is lumping all kids together for the RID combiners. Please show me how that isnt true. We only have what is seen below and all of it is simplified:

Image

I was making the point about toys in general, not combiners. I think we all know that Hasbro can't afford to make more complex combiners than the ones on show given how much sacrifice, complete line focus and cost-cutting went into Combiner Wars.

If this is the case then Hasbro needs not to make combiners. Save the budget on making the other toys better and leave combiners to the people that actually know what they're doing.

Gotta disagree. I convinced my younger brother to pick out Beeside and the toy is absolutely perfect for younger fans. If you're not seven to twelve, maybe they aren't for you, but "pure trash" is an inaccurate description, IMO.

Why do 7-12 year olds have to be given "trash" to play with these days? When I was that age I still liked to have good toys, and would have been completely put off by a "combiner" that apparently isn't really one.

First, look up at the on-going debate above. It goes into a lot of detail of how there's a lot of different types of toys for a lot of different types of people.

Second, a point that was already made, THIS IS NOT YOUR AGE. That was when you were a kid. If these are the toys that are selling and have been selling, Hasbro has no reason to stop. Kids apparently like these types of toys, and thus their tastes have changed from you were a kid.

Why do grown adults keep whining about "how much better they had it"? Who cares? If you don't like, don't buy it. Don't make it look like kids nowadays are terrible for liking different stuff.

Diem wrote:One thing that really resonated with me at Hasbro's presentation at BotCon 2014 was the explanation they gave for Transformers becoming simpler (with Revenge of the Fallen's toyline being the benchmark here for non-simple) which was that the toys were so complicated that even parents couldn't help the kids transform them, which was hurting the brand's reputation in their minds.

As such, any time I see toys like the one-step changers or these combiners I know they're not to my taste, or the taste I would have had as a kid either, but I recognize them as important rungs in the complexity ladder for the good of the brand.

I love this statement. It's absolute gold.

I grew up playing with cars that turned into articulationless bricks. Sometimes the joints couldn't hold up the diecast bodies, and the legs would break off (RIP Sludge). Some of them took a long time to transform for little hands, which really interfered with my play (why can't they transform fast like in the show?). Some of them didn't look anything like their cartoon counterparts.

Kids these days with their multiple toy lines and articulated robots and broad price points and cartoon accuracy, rassin' frassin'...

A. 7-12 year-olds don't have to play with RiD toys. They're allowed to buy and play with any TF toys they want, including TMs and MPs.

B. I guarantee that you, just like every other kid, spent a lot of time and had a lot of fun as a kid playing with shitty toys. Sure, I loved my Transformers (some of which were trash themselves - Jumpstarters? C'mon, those were terrible toys.), but I had just as much fun with my Go-Bots and my TF knock-offs and the cheap shitty toys we bought at the General Store downtown. Kids have remarkably low standards for toys, AS IT SHOULD BE. Stop acting like they "deserve better", like they're special snowflakes that need to be spoiled.

As a kid, I really hated shitty toys. I didnt know of the dinobots as a kid since I was more of a beast wars guy and G1 imagery was not everywhere in the 90s, as it is now. So I actually would see and get some dollar store dinobot knockoffs, like grimlock and slog, which were in cheap plastic. It was all I could afford with my allowance and I felt super cheated, even as a kid.

Although I will admit that I didnt need all the articulation toys have now to have fun. All my batman figures only had like 5 points of articulation and I didnt mind.

I'm going to state the truth right now besides a couple of gems G1's toys were shit they were absolute garbage but they were fun due to one thing that only children have that disappears when they become older.

Imagination.

Kids play with toys and have fun with them because they use their minds to fill in the rest.

I'm done with debates for the weekend I got new toys to see

Ok so you think its totally ok to take advantage of & rip off children? Thats exactly what hasbro is doing with combiner force & RiD in general. Doesnt matter if they dont know better & only want to play with toys its still wrong. Go ahead compare the designing, plastic quality & amount of paint apps to a titans return figure or even an animated figure (another child targeted series)And tell me they are the same quality. They are not, so all these remarks about CF being "trash" is justified. And lets not forget the pricing, RiD isnt some budget brand for kids no its top dollar just like Titans returns. Why should anyone pay top dollar for an inferior product? I also dont agree with the simplification crap thats going on, children need to be challenged not coddled. Kids arent going to learn or grow their minds by making things easier, kids arent stupid they just havent learned yet. Anyone who says "oh its a kids line who cares" is just ignorant & blind to whats in front of them. I could go on but i wont cause i know it wont make a difference, fanboys are so blinded by their obsession/addiction that its pointless. I game my 2 cents now im off to play sniper elite 4, good day people

That being said, I actually really like how Ultrabee looks, I actually do. and I really want that figure and can't wait to see the official reveal of it

So much hate for the team combiner. Weren't people saying it was only going to cost $35? From Hasbro's perspective I can absolutely see why they made the combiner simple. This isn't like Combiner Wars where we got so many characters for the first and probably last time. The RID combiner is the same four characters that have had dozens of figures made out of, do kids really need them all again and with bot modes that are far inferior to the Warrior class figures the kids already have? To me a simplified set at a low price point is a smarter way to actually get this into kids hands than something done in CW style that would run probably $75.

No pics allowed yet. Hasbro is currently going through the various brand presentations.

So far we've gone through the Transformers brand presentation, and they're currently showing us the Marvel presentation. Star Wars and My Little Pony still to go!

Once they're done with their presentations, we'll head down to the showroom around 3pm where we can start taking pictures and video. Megatronus will send the Seibertron.com News Staff some teaser pics on his cell phone, while I start working on taking hundreds of photos of all of the products. Once Megatronus is done with the teaser pics, he'll start working on videos for the Seibertron.com YouTube channel.

Stay tuned for more!!!

Hold the phone.

Magnus Prime from Ginrai... but what happened to Iron Apex. And Metalhawk?? Awesome!

Die-cast Rodimus Prime titanmaster... I approve heavily of this.

Drift is in the RiD combiner somehow? Neat!

Really, only 2 deluxes, and it is Windblade?
