Thanks to a tip given to us by Seibertron.com member fabexmax, this year's Toys'R'Us Exclusive Masterpiece Rodimus Prime is now available for purchase at ToysRUs.com. The figure is obtainable at this year's SDCC, and now online! A much cheaper variant to Takara's Masterpiece Rodimus Convoy, this piece does not include Rodimus Convoy's trailer, but includes the new Targetmaster, Offshoot. Get him while you can!

It was in my cart, I entered my information, checked out, and I got a blank. I checked my email, nothing, I hit refresh and it said my shopping cart was empty. I tried to add it to my cart again and it said

Yes theey went quickly. It's just after 9am eastern time = out of stock. I did see a note saying this are sold in stores. If MP Grimlock is any indication, there will be shelves full for weeks here in Myrtle Beach. I will post in SC toy sitings forums when they hit. Thankfully, the woman that manages my local TRU is kind to us Super Dork types and calls me when something I'm looking for hits the store. Thank you genetic lottery

For once, I am glad I wake up early! I saw the news at 715 and got my order in.

I had to do my order by phone because I got the "limited quantity screen". When I called they said they couldn't find the item on the TRU website. I had to send them to Seibertron and click the link to the TRU site. Once they did that, my order went through. I got my confirmation and everything.

If you didn't get one, try calling the 800 number and ordering by phone.

I called the 1 800 number and was told that it will not be in stock until August, but they will be receiving only 89 and then that is it. Crap. If only I had woken up a bit earlier or stayed up a bit later last night.

This is lame. I was checking at 2am and they hadn't listed it as of then. Now come to find they are completely sold out is weak apple sauce. Just wanted one for my homage display case to 1986 movie. Guess I'm going to have to bite the big one and Purchase the Takara one *ouch* felt my soul bleed a little on that one and my wallet just gave up on life stating his @$$ is sore. Yet it seems like they keep popping up on ebay at almost twice the retail price. Anything to make a dollar I suppose. Come on fellow fans help a brother in metalarms out. Peace!!

Looks like it's going to be in size with Grimlock at least going by the product demensions provided by toysrus.com.

10.5 x 9.0 x 3.5

I imagine thats him in an iron cross position like Vince Vaughn in Old School

It kind of boils my blood when I see people in the forums who are like "I bought two" or "I got one which will save me from having to check my local stores." Pretty inconsiderate to those collectors who live nowhere near a Toys R Us.

Some of us who live near local stores have absolutely no time to stop by everyday to see if there is one in-stock. If you place a dollar value on your time, toy hunting for this thing can end up costing more than even the Takara version. After multiple trips searching in vain for Grimlock, I decided I was never going to hunt for an exclusive again. Time wasted driving to TRU and back was time I could have been working to earn $$ or, better yet, time I could have spent with my son.

Now, I do believe that if you read Dante's Inferno in the original Italian, he does mention a special level in hell for those who purchased 2 from the TRU online store.

I have the Takara version and he is in scale with Grimlock. He is about the same height, just a wee bit taller, but is considerably thinner than Grimmy.

Glad I ordered one this morning

I picked up Voyager Sentinel Prime as well to get the free shipping.

This one will be Hot Rod, and my Takara one will go into space Winnebago mode.

Man, every time I plan to downsize the MP display, something else comes out. Oh well.

i wonder how many Rodimus primes did BBTS purchase because this was only a Toys R us Exclusive???? i thought BBTS get their own exclusive like Toys R us!!!! last year they had the Seacons as their exclusive while toys r us had grimlock! in addition, doubling the price for it seems just wrong. :-x

i think they at least got twenty but mostlikely more!!!!i am wondering... how did they know the time frame of its release to purchase these figures!!! :-?

i manage to get one but earlier i had troulbe finding rodmius prime on their website. lucky for me a i check seibertron.com before i when to work (around 6am) to see this news post that had the item linked!!!! i went to work wondering how fast rodiumus prime would sell out. wow in less than 6 hrs. :shock:

i tried explain to my wife that it would not last all day but only for a few hours because it was a hot item!!!! my wife didnt understand...(smh) but now hopefully she does and will not hassle me any more!!!

does any other guys have to deal with the wife hassling thing?????

Yes, it is just the robot/Hot Rod car mode part. No Winnebago trailer. I already have the Winnebago and will keep displaying it in that mode with this one being in robot mode. And to get around the red legs problem I will transform the TRU version into car and stick it into the trailer, as long as it fits and the smokestacks match in chrome. The front of the Winnebago covers everything else up. This way I'll have one in bot mode and Winnebago mode. No Hot Rod mode, though...

As for posting about being happy we got him, there's nothing wrong with that. It's not our fault that TRU didn't stock so many. However, it is kind of a douche thing to brag about getting more than 1 AFTER people have posted that they couldn't buy it.

My sympathies to those that struck out, really. It does make one wonder how many units BBTS actually got their hands on. And who's to say toy dealers didn't do everything in their power to get they're greedy hands on as many as possible. I personally am happy with this simply being Hot Rod/Rodimus and that's it. I will be on the hunt in stores for another for a friend of mine. It will be interesting how that hunt will turn out.

Lastly I want to comment on all the negativity this item got when it first got posted, all various issues and beef's. Interesting how now this TF seems to be sought after by many fans :-?

I called a local store and asked the manager to check stock in and around the area. Said no TRU in socal has it in stock nor does it show up in the warehouse. He said it's only available at the internet warehouse. He didn't understand why it said available in store.

I have a feeling MP Rodimus was released prematurely...unless they had very limited stock.

Anyone get a shipping confirmation yet? I'm hoping he shows up on shelves next week though.

My wife thought it was strange that I woke up earlier than usual this morning. She just asked if I wanted breakfast.

From what I read, .COM had maybe 500 Rodimus to offer from the start. Surely that wouldn't last all day. I put my order in and went back to bed. Just glad I woke up early today I guess.

to be honest, for my in my area... grimlock came out the same time last year!!! i miss him because of my wife hassled me last year at the $59.99 price and i paided an extra 10 bucks at a local toysrus store!!! also if you include the gas driven to pick him up and wasting minutes by calling them i say i spend an extra 50 bucks not include the extra 10 dollars at the store.

to answer you question, GRIMLOCK came out online for sale.... like today of last year and didnt show in norfolk, Va tru store till August 20th. to top that off they only recieve one case of 3 grimlocks!!!! i know because i was the first one to get it at my tru. i have a buddy that if i show him an image he will hold the one for me but on this account he held a case. i only brought one at the time because i wanted someone else to get a grimlock. how long they lasted... less than two days on the store shelf. how do i know? i when to buy one for a friend two day later and they where gone!!!!! i waited for second shipment for a buddy and it never happened!!!!!
