Matt Tieger, you and High Moon Studios continue to amaze me with an almost equal love of Transformers as I.

One part i didn't like was when Swoop gets a back hand from Bruticus and hits so hard it sends him off screen. Devastator smashed him up pretty good in the Movie as well. Poor Swoop

I am of course talking about Matt Tieger.
A moderately cool trailer.
Pros: Good to see Shockwave getting stuck into a fight. Really awesome to see Jazz and the Dinobots taking on Bruticus.
Cons: Megatron's new body; Metroplex's slack-jawed expression; and Optimus running like a bloke in cosplay.

That art was never of Metroplex. That is an Autobot brute.griftimus prime wrote:way better than the original concept they had.

Yeah, the only reason they go through a portal in this is because that's what was in the Binder of Revelation which this scene was drawn from. I guess Tieger didn't realize that Hasbro made that up instead of it being something inspired by G1.Wigglez wrote:Yeah, there was no portal during the fight with the Ark and Nemesis in G1.

Except it still makes us feel nostalgic regardless.Sabrblade wrote:Just watched the interview. Matt Teiger says that the first level will feel nostalgic to G1 fans with it having the Ark and Nemesis leaving Cybertron through the space bridge portal... except that that never happened in G1.

True. Should have had him driving in like in the '86 movie. That would have been a cool homage.

Hehe He's got a point; I thought Prime's legs were only half the normal length! XD (He should stick to the slow, epic walk we saw in the reveal trailer! )
Still; this trailer was an epic to build on the epic of the epic previous trailer! Can't wait! ^^
(No, nobody can have too much 'epic'! XD)

Posted by Sabrblade on June 5th, 2012 @ 4:14pm CDT
Precisely. Matt Tieger has gone on record saying that Metroplex dwarfs both Trypticon and Omega Supreme.Archanubis wrote:Maybe it's just the way the two are built, but it looks like Metroplex is LARGER than Trypticon.

I get the feeling that scene is a nod towards the '84 movie. Other than the addition of Jazz and the fact Grimlock barely seems phased after Bruticus' right cross. After all, not only did Devastator manage to take out Swoop (who has always been depicted as the more "fragile" of the Dinobots), but it was Slag who knocked ol' Dev on his ass, just like he does to Bruticus here.

Can I get some type of credit for taking these screenshots? I uploaded them to TFW2005 with the same account name (MV95)

I've been saying this since day one. Multiplayer was great in WFC and FoC will be better. I'm stoked.

But wait there's more....PlayStation.Blog hosted a Q&A session with High Moon Studio's Matt Teiger. Click here to have a look, we hit the highlights below.
- More "Big Bots", fans have responded well to Brutics and Metroplex, not all have been discussed
- Unlockable G1 Optimus Prime for both single and multiplayer, completely new model, the only truly classic unlockable model that can be confirmed at this time
- The story was developed in association with Hasbro and is canon, no association with the films
- No immediate plans for release on the Vita
- Gameplay is longer than Transformers: WFC
- Ultra Magnus in the game? "I can say that Hasbro has confirmed an Ultra Magnus toy. That could be a hint about his role in game."
- Online trophies - yes
- No current plans for a collectors' edition, though there have been many requests
- The song in the new trailer - Cities in Dust by The Everlove

That's what Soundwave's minions are. They're both Minicons and Deployers.Wigglez wrote:With how this is going, I wouldn't be surprised if they threw the Minicons in. I know they weren't G1, but the Dinobots weren't made 'till after they got to Earth.

Make him a Maximus class Cyberverse figure. Then make some Cyberverse FOC toys (of the bigger characters than Soundwave's minions) for him to interact with.Doubledealer93 wrote:toy now!!! need metroplex toy!!! and that matt guy is looking pretty busy.

no thanks. i'd much rather have a leader sized (or bigger) version... but we all know that'll never happen.
anyways. the best news i've seen so far is that the gameplay is longer than WFC. that's AWESOME.
Posted by Sodan-1 on June 6th, 2012 @ 1:07pm CDT
The fella playing the game earned an achievement. Could the game be all done and dusted? Metroplex is looking really good now though.
TimothyR wrote:...the best news i've seen so far is that the gameplay is longer than WFC.
Is that true?! Hell, I thought WFC dragged on as it was, just running/driving/flying through pressing the odd attack button here and there.

Which is why I say make him a Maximus figure so he can be correctly scaled, as anything lower than a Supreme would do serious injustice to him.TimothyR wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Make him a Maximus class Cyberverse figure. i personally would rather have him done right (leader class or larger) or not done at all. if it were for cyberverse.. i'd have to place jazz, bumblebee, prime, shockwave, megatron, soundwave, and whoever else is coming out in the deluxe scale. plus, hasbro owes us something good and big. the last two large figures they've released were dreadful (3 if you count ultimate bumblebee) there was rotf devastator and "ultimate" prime.

you thought it dragged on? interesting. i thought it was good. i dislike games that i can sit down and beat in one night. did you play it on the easy setting? if so, that may contribute to only attacking "here and there".
i hope the controls are similar. i actually enjoyed the way you transform. . i also liked the way they worked it into rotf. for me it's not really a matter of liking it or not, it's just a matter of getting used to it.
i'm really interested to see how this "teletran" type weapons thing is going to work out.
i'm starting to come around to the fact that each level is meant for a specific character. i really like choosing my own character, but i noticed that i usually pick the scout type characters like breakdown and sideswipe.. but i think the way they have it set up will be good for story telling.
and lastly, i'm excited about playing one campaign that involves both factions. it REALLY sucked in the dotm game (that was probably one of the worst games i've ever played) .. but here, since it's longer, and the subject matter it should be fun, i like going back and forth, it definitely looks like it's going to help the story out. i guess we'll all see soon enough.

And we see Starscream sneaking up on a guy, kicking him in the ball-bearings from from behind, and shoving a facehugger bomb on his head.
I love this game.

Shouldn't that read, "and is canon"? A "cannon" is a weapon (eg. a Howitzer), where "canon" is an original source (eg. a novel). I really hate to nitpick.
