Exceptional work again guys.
I just want that rabbit to chew on 'Combers face...

And I like the art as well, the way it illustrates all of his points. I have to admit that while realistic art is very cool, I'm more a fan of less-realistic/"cartoony" art, as it has more character to me. (So it always makes me kinda sad when people gripe about the less-realistic art styles. )

If I could, I wanted to comment on one of your comments on the IDW boards (must find time and money to catch up on TF comics so I can post over there one of these days...) and say that I can empathize with finding yourself writing a Mosaic for a character you used to never care about (and then liking them afterwards, in my case).

It's actually been finished since the summer, but there's a sense of timing in play with its release...
really makes me remember that Beachcomer is a reluctant soldier, but also an Autobot through and through.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. That's exactly what we were out to get across with this.

ephbot wrote:As much as I like the concept of Transformers: Mosaic, can the stories be less "Emo-formers"? There's definitely a way to expand upon a character's backstory without having to make it sentimental, etc.
These characters are fighting an endless war. Whatever their reasons for doing so, a LOT of them are going to develop a lot of sad memories and anguish, and that makes up a great deal of their character. It's called being alive.
That being said, there are some pieces in the mix that have some action, comedy and intrigue. The rest of the "being alive" deal.

I fight because it's the only thing that will end the war"

War as the only solution to war itself leads to eternal fighting. I won't say that it's a very American idea, because the world is full of people that see things like that, but for me one thing is to say that giant robots are fighting giant robots, another one is to give their fighting some realistic, moral side. It's war between toys. Let's leave moral out of Megatron and Optimus' struggle.
My 2 cents.

Great to see Beachcomber getting some love. He's definitely one of my favourite characters. And you guys definitely pulled off the whole reluctant but noble soldier character extremely well.

Thanks, always great to see someone who appreciates that sort of style too.
I wanted this piece to reflect a uniqueness artwise. Beachcomber is a favorite Transformer of mine, and I wanted the characters to bend more to my style (heavy cartooning background) rather than vice versa.

Seems eternal war is a part of life for Transformers. The fact that the more peace-inclined of their kind still show up to do their part for what's right says a lot of great things about the concept of hope. To me anyway.
It's war between toys.
Huh. If I felt that's all there was to it, I'd have stopped giving a rattrap's aft about Transformers about 20 years ago.

Yes, that sort of thing is exactly why I like "cartoonier" art - it's easier for the artist's individual style to show through. There's always a certain amount of individual quirkiness to it, whereas more realistic or 3D art can look a little samey to me sometimes.

In place of where the Mosaic should be, there's a small window that says "Upgrade to Pro today! Bandwith Exceeded. photobucket."
Would someone who's more computer savvy than myself please tell me what I need to do?

Don't worry, it's not you. We're just having some image hosting issues.
I've got the strip back up on another host.
