Transformers Movie DVD Released Today! Exclusives galore!

I had pre-ordered the Canadian Best Buy exclusive and it ended up being a photo booklet with various scenes and quotes from the movie as well as some clear shots of the characters (same ones you'd see as wallpaper on the internet). It also came with a titanium G1 Optimus Prime but he has battle-damage. I don't know if that's common or new because I haven't followed the Titanium series closely. On the back, it shows the other possible 3 figures - Beast Wars Megatron, Unicron, or War Within Optimus Prime.

I was at a local Sam's Club for a job interview and they not only have the movie 2-DVD set (DVD-1:Movie/DVD2-: extras) but also showing the movie on an entire aisle of LSD/HD (not sure which ones) monitors (great way to test them ) priced at $24 (minus tax).

Now, what I would like to know is if the 2_DVD set in question is exclusive to that store and if there is any other set with exclusive content like the Wal-Mart set.

I bought the target transforming case then went to best buy and bought the prime and cliff jumper set. I also bought best buys exclusive Megatron figure and if you buy the figure and the DVD you get five dollars off your purchase.

In Canada Future Shop has the 2-disc special edition in faction logo stamped Steel boxes, so I bought Autobot.
And, BTW, the "Devastator" "typo" is still in the film.

OK, heres my story of a TransTastic day!(I know, I'll beat myself up for that later).

I intend on getting the Walmat edition soon, but for today, I scored the Target one because I realy like the case idea.

I went in, got my copy, and saw the promotion for a $5 gift card if I got the Evolution of a Hero 2 pack at time of purchase.

I already knew about this deal thanks to this site!

Well, they only had 2 of the BB 2packs left. I have both figs several times over now, but still wanted this exclusive. Don't ask my why though, I already have these figures loose and sealed, but I bought the 2 sets anyway.

At the counter, the clerk told me about the gift card(again, I already knew) and saw tucked behind the register the Prime gift card. As the clerk was reaching for a generic card, I asked for that one as it even comes on a blister card!

The clerk gave it to me and the GM walked up to me and kinda cursed me because it was the last one in the store, that he put there hoping to score it for himself later.

Tough Beans!

Anyhow, I went back to work with my bag of goodies in waiting and ran into a real good long lost friend who out of the blue brought up the TF movie, and told me he couldn't find any bots where he moved to!?!

I took it as a sign and gave him the extra BB set that I bought(see it some times pays to trust instinct)!

The rest of the work day went by super fast, the beer I like was on sale today, and I got to watch the movie agian on my freshly hung flat screen that I just got a short time ago...

Truely a TransTastic Day!

This is the first one I got, I'll be getting a couple others for the features but giving the movie discs to my nieces and nephews as apose to returning or reselling them.

I grabbed the Best Buy set this morning along with the Megatron figure. The new paint scheme looks very nice, more appealing for his character than the standard one was. My girlfriend grabbed the Target transforming case and we swapped sets My 2 yr old daughter just adores the Robot Heroes figures so everyone was happy, except my Xbox, which played the movie 3 times before someone put a stop to it

See for your self, get the best deal on the best offers, mix and match, and make your own, but who realy needs 70 copies of the same thing in a different package?

The Best Buy stores in Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills, MI only got in one of each, and were clueless about when and if more were coming. The main customer service line couldn't tell me anything either. At least your warehouse news offers some hope.

I have put up a white flag on these exclusives. Never seen so many for one movie's release ever! If they compiled all the worldwide exclusive into one package it would have 4-6 DVDs and cost about $500 given all the action figures and add-ons!

i bought the best buy with robot heroes but no deleted scenes does any dvd out there have deleted scenes?

The Ratchet figure is somewhat different -- this version has a metallic yellow paintscheme, whereas the first release was just yellow, not metallic.

I picked up both Megs and Ratchet and my local Best Buy this morning. When I got to the store, a friend who works there told me they only got 6 of each figure in, and that I was the first to pick them up. But I was there at 10:15am, so I doubt the others lasted long after that, based on what I'm hearing from everyone here...

WoW, i was at the Best Buy in rochester MI, like 2 minutes after they opened and Megs was gone, and the guy in front of me was holding the ratchet. what a shame, they only had one megatron and one ratchet.

I quickly left and raced to the other Best Buy down off of M59 and they had 3 megs left.

Got the Autobot 'Protect' Tin case, 2 disc edition. Haven't looked through the 2nd disc yet though.

Actually, the Best Buy Megatron does include the ice. It's just colored to match the figure's body coloring.

Wanted to get the robot heroes exclusives, but when i got to best buy and saw how horribly painted the prime figure was. I changed my mind. I wasn't gonna pay $30 for cliffjumper and a crappy prime figure. So I got the hd-dvd version. and just to see if i'm the only one, has anyone noticed at the part when Sam comes home with all the autobots and he's looking for the glasses. the movie drags at the part where his mom and dad are talking about grouding him to the next scene of him searching throught his room? i hope someone else is like this also, if not then i musta got a bad disc.

Is there a non HD DVD version of the movie that has all the other extras? Cause I couldn't find any at my local Best Buy.

so to those who got the "beginning" dvd.....settle this once and for all, is it an actual animated thing? or is it simple still images from the comic with sound and some basic animation added here and there to spice it up?

oh and since everyone is naming what they got, let me be bandwagon boy....i got the autobot steelbook edition

did you try playing it again? that happened to me in the scene when the hacker-guy grabbed the doughnut on my copy. i rewound and played and it was fine. i didn't notice what you were talking about, though.

I got the one disk version and the HD 2-disk especial edition. me happy

Ditto. I almost waited to tomorrow, but I went to an FYE by me anyway - glad I did! I got one of only two Autobot tins in the whole store! (about 6-7 Decepticon tins though)

The commentary is pretty good, but the best part is when the Autobots arrive. Halfway through Prime's first transformation, Bay says, "I think this moment right here, when I finally heard all the sounds...with Peter Cullen's amazing voice...and thank God the fans...I kept listening to fans, and they were right. You guys were right ALL the way through. But I just wanted to have an open mind of who can play these robots. So, you can't fault me for that, but...THAT was Optimus Prime, when he speaks, lemmie tell ya."

Hearing that from Bay's mouth was insanely cool. Feel proud, fans.

I got the Wal Mart exclusive with the prequel. I watched it last night, I was up till about 5 am this morning. Just watched the prequel today and was very pleasantly surprised to hear Welker as Megatron. Great voice work throughout the prequel except for Blackout, and I don't particularly like Bumblebee's voice. I don't think I plan on buying another version of the DVD, at least not at the moment.

Well I bought the Target Transforming DVD only to learn my parents bought the Costco Exclusive. Yes there is a Costco Exclusive and for $35, you get the 2-Disc Special Edition, a random keychain being either Optimus or Bumblebee and some book. Haven't opened the package yet.

The Target version is just enough of a gimmick to get my attention. I do want an HD version but I don't have an HD-player yet. Hmm... Might be time to pick up the XBox HDDVD add-on and hook it to my pc.

I Had Pre-ordered The Special Edition 2 Disc (Normal) at FYE/Suncoast But Walked In And Saw The Last Tin 2 Disc Set. I Literally Jumped 10 Ft Forward To Snatch It For Myself Before Anyone Else Could Get The Last (Even Though It Was Lunch Downtown and No One Was Around).

Ed with transforming case + comic, Evol. of a hero BB 2-pack, and transforming $5 gift card for $40 + tax ($44). Split up, that's 6 six things for ~ $40, plus i can use the giftcard whenever. (U don't have to surrender the card when you redeem it wooohoo!! -just ask for it back) Maybe I'll use the gc on the ultimate edition whenever it comes out. How's that for stickin to corporate america?!? I'm not gettin' ^&*$^&ed.

Ok. I watched almost all of the feature commentary. (I could not stand listening to that man talk about himself for more than an hour.)

Did anyone else get the impression that Bay seems to be A LOT like the character of Michael Scott from NBC's The Office? The man CANNOT stop talking about himself, his style, his ideas, his opinions, his history, how everyone loves him... my wife and I both started laughing at his commentary after a while.

If I'm the only one that thinks this, fine. I'll shut up. I just CANNOT stand this man and I still think the action was the ONLY saving grace of the film.

I should have skipped the Walmart bonus disk. It wasn't worth $5 bucks.

In Canada, FutureShop has two metal case 2-DVD sets. One with the Autobot symbol and one with the Decepticon symbol. Both are embossed

I got the walmart exclusive and wasn't too impressed with the "prequel". Transformer Beginings looks like a flash trailer for a comic book that you would see at marvel.com. Peter Cullen narrates only a fraction of it, the rest is narrated by Bumblebee. Pretty weak if you ask me.

It is a narrated comic book from the IDW prequel comics, but I thought they did a great job with it.

It sux that it came with the single disk edition of the movie though. I picked up the target transforming case with the 2 disk SE, so I'll just give the single disk to my nephew.

I got the Best Buy special. Prime and Cliffjumper can guard my monitor for a few years, and LIKE it.

I was talking about the animated prequel comic DVD that was the Walmart exclusive.
There was a prequel comic booklet that came with the transforming Target case, but it was a different story.
That story was also posted as PDFs earlier in the week on this site somewhere.

Its not even out here in the UK yet, not for over another month. We get butt-fecked again! But i'll be getting the 2-disc-er obviously. Which ever one is the best and out in this useless country i'll be getting it.

For a person who's seen the movie in theaters 7 times I'm sad to say I'm disappointed in the 2 disk set. There are no outtakes or real deleted scenes. The eater eggs aren't worth searching for. The only "cool" thing was the easter egg of the deleted Xbox scene with the woman in her underwear. 90% of all the stuff on the disk is Bay talking about himself, or trying to put himself in the movie. And yes he had the I don't care about the fans attitude. You get your money's worth getting the Walmart 2-pack. For those of us who grew up in the 80s it will remind you of the old Golden Books videos, like He-Man. Plus it has Cullen AND Welker.

I agree with Skowl; there's just too many exclusives. Besides, I'm happy with the DVD I got from Walgreens last night.

Did see the Wal-Mart on West Hunt Highway has new figures though, if you happen to live in the Queen Creek area here in AZ. New to me anyway, as I bet 08 Bumblebee and Longarm should have been out a while now. I only mean that this was the first I'd seen them.

I do like thou how I can see the errors I thought I saw but no one else did. Watch the scene where Prime scans the truck. The Prime truck is the one driving and the regular Peterbuilt is the one on the hill. Check the emblem on the grill and you'll see what I'm talking about. Some dumbass director screwed up, and shockingly he forgot to mention that in his commentary.
