Wreck Gar is a slight retool and repaint of the Combiner Wars deluxe Groove mold, complete with a new Junkion color and slightly shrunken down Wreck Gar head. The figure comes with the axe weapon his Generations counterpart had years ago, and he also comes with the Prime Armor AKA the hand weapon. He also will come with one of the Power of the Primes cards, so any collectors looking for all 12 versions of the Wreck Gar card will be looking for your cards!
This figure is most likely designed to combine with Jazz, Moonracer, and Novastar as the limbs to either Elita Inf1nite or the Inferno combiner, though the art work on the packages for those voyagers appear to indicate Elita as the more likely recipient of this Junkion limb. Hopefully she doesn't start speaking in commercials and TV phrases.
So head on over to Walgreens.com and get your Wreck Gar today, and once you do get him, let us know what you think of him in the comments section below!

Mine were. A minor repair, but not necessarily an easy one. Just took some slightly scary pushing and twisting to get those mushroom pegs to slide out. Not to mention correcting the position of the front fork was a bit freaky. It's turned 180 so it fits in the blister. The plastic is soft and should be handled delicately.
I bought 2 more Wreck-Gars for my brother and another friend, and their elbows are on the wrong side too. I'm guessing this is a widespread mis-assembly.
What's with all the factory errors/mis-assemblies lately?

Initially I would blame it on the switch of operation form Hong Kong to Vietnam (cheaper labor, less QC), but I'm sure there;s more to it than that. Also I heard a rumor a while back that operations could change again to India in the next couple years. Not sure if that was just an unfounded rumor though.

When compared to Groove. They face the wrong way when forming the engine parts in motorcycle mode.william-james88 wrote:How do we know if the elbows are missassembled and what is the downside to it?
Purely esthetic, really.
Although his elbow joints were dislocating very easily, and I after I swapped them, his forearms stayed in place better and the soft ratchet was tighter.
EDIT: Also, I don't have it in front of me, but I think the picture on the back of the card show these pieces assembled correctly.

It's Alpha Trion because the Alpha Trion cards are mostly based on his role as a historian (There are a couple exceptions; Elita's for example draws instead on his rebuilding her and Optimus' former selves into mighty warriors). And binging through the entirety of any sort of archive plays into that. The Vector Prime cards generally have more to do with Veccy's time powers.

Amalgamous Wreck-Gar: A constantly evolving mass of parts and scrap.
Cobotron wrote:Sabrblade! Was it you who mentioned that Wreck-Gar's elbows are swapped from the factory?
I put a long thing showing that my Wreck-Gar has two right shoulders and two left elbows, but I don't know if you're incorrectly remembering that or talking about a different incident.

Nice!, Bur yeah, my King Starscream will consist of Blackwing, Dreadwind, BC16 Terrorsaur and "Sunstorm" (aka Golden Lagoon Starscream).

That's exactly my point. One would think, in order to Binge all of TV, there would have to be some sort of time travel element involved...because obviously much of past TV was lost to time, since many things were recorded over on a daily basis in order to conserve use of magnetic tape in a pre digital age. Dr. Who fans know this pain all too well .

I know that science fiction has played with the idea several times that *alien civilizations* living (for example), in a star system 20 LY away could be picking up TV signals from 20 years ago etc..., but I'm pretty sure TV signals have a limit, and it's all based more on fiction, than science, such as in the case of Junkions watching Earth TV in the first place.

This picture just makes me think about how much I want a Terrorsaur and Fractyl. And by extent Impactor and Roller.

Actual toy - from the TFWiki, but a quick google search will show that all PotP Wreck-Gars have the elbow bits reversed
Groove, for good measure
I fixed mine today and found that pulling the whole arm off the ball joint makes it much easier, but still that grey plastic they used is worryingly soft. After the swap, it just seems to work a little bit better, but that's probably just in my head, looks better in alt-mode at least.
EDIT, because why the hell not?
He has some pretty nice light piping and maybe pupils?

Nice finds! I see Rodimus Unicronus every once in a while, but I've yet to see Firestar at a brick and mortar store. I got mine from Amazon several weeks ago. Still no signs of regular retail Optimal Optimus, though. Every time I spot a new Rodimus Prime on the shelf, I get hopeful, but then find it was just another Wave 1 packaged with Optimus Prime.

Then we have Punch/Counterpunch who can make excellent use of the "Prime Armor," not just as chest armor, but also as a jetpack for Counterpunch's robot mode, but can't put it to use as an actual combiner hand since it's the only Power of the Primes Deluxe mold that doesn't turn into a combiner limb. You win some, you lose some?

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm glad we got Punch/Counterpunch. He's fantastic as is. I'm just pointing out that Wreck-Gar is far from the only anomaly in the Power of the Primes line in terms of gimmick functionality. For instance, Inferno can't utilize the enigma of combination in torso mode, and Grimlock is the only torso designed to incorporate the spare two combiner hands from his teammates to bulk up his combined mode.
Posted by no-one on November 2nd, 2018 @ 8:03pm CDT
Yeah, they are quite random with that stuff. Speaking of enigmas, Hun-Gurr is the only one that can completely hide it? Starscream/Elita just have a compartment, but can't close the door? I'm not a fan of how Grimlock incorporates the enigma in combined mode. Just looks bad and makes the whole thing look more like a sore thumb.Wolfman Jake wrote:Oh, don't get me wrong. He can, but only his and Inferno's (redeco) as the others stick out too much.
In my headcanon, Hun-Gurrr doesn't need it for Abominus, but for other combinations like Abomenaticus and Destron Super Scramble, he does, given his status as a "later generation" Scramble Combiner. Scattershot doesn't need an enigma because of his natural ability, look at Betatron

I just wanted to thank you for the insight you gave on the fix. I am an amateur when it comes to taking apart/putting together. I had 2 Wreck-Gar to fix and 3 of the 4 mushroom pegs were fairly easy. The last peg was hell on earth, my thumbs are still stinging. Thankfully I managed to fix them with very little issues. The ratchet on one arm is a little loose but overall it's good. I used my CW Groove as a reference point. Thanks again.

To be fair, A. the other torsos are more uniform in width than Grimlock is in torso mode and B. I think the positioning of those holes on Grimlock may in fact be an accident of design; I think the holes were more made for weapon mounting. I lean more towards using the extra Prime Armor hands to bulk up the heels for added support (which is the more universal design intention) anyway.
As for the Dinobot Enigma, I just leave it in one of the feet. Keeps the slot full and all. Same would go for the other Enigmas really. I think the chest display option only looks good with the Elita/Starscrem torso configuration tbh.
On the subject of a Starscream combiner, I think Hydra and Buster would make suitable limbs. Granted, right now that would require customizing.
Speaking of customizing, do people think it would be worth it to kitbash Dreadwing to transform more like the original, at least as far as where the cockpit and wings end up in robot mode?
