With SDCC 2015 hitting big on the rest of the news cycle, we thought we'd take the calm before the storm to catch up on some Transformers news around the world and the web. First up is the following piece from The Malay Mail Online, sent to us by Seibertronian Jones, reporting on a giant outdoors, state funded Transformers festival to be held in Penang 19 July-17 September, featuring graffiti, murals and two 30-foot statues of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee from the movieverse! GEORGE TOWN, July 7 — Penang will unveil Asia’s first Transformers street art installation at the Esplanade this July 19, joining an exhibition featuring characters from the animation and movie franchise.

The street art will feature Transformers characters painted on a row of containers by students from the One Academy Penang.

“For the first time, we will have the largest Transformers outdoor exhibit in Malaysia here with their backs to the sea as if they just arrived to save Penang and it will be accompanied by the Transformers street art,” Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said at the press conference this morning.
