I weould to see more ablitites being added and weapons to different classes.
Also more color schemes in Create a Character.
Can I make a friggin black Autobot or green Decepticon for christ sake!?
Who says Decepticons and Autobots have to be a certain color.
Someone show me where in the name of Prime that thats a written rule.

Dead End is a good guess for that Decepticon up top. I'd guess Zeta would be a truck similar to Optimus. The concept art is in the game apparently.

I'll get this definitely. I hope we get another Scientist, Soldier and Scout. Although I won't complain if we get another Leader.

decepticons have 2 scouts, 2 leaders, 3 scientists, and 3 soldiers
Deadend should be a given, I could see Motormaster as a Leader, I'd kill for a Magnus armor that's "just a soldier"

...but i'll be happy if I can play as Zeta Prime.
Also, any conehead seeker would be SUPER.
Posted by Artakha Prime on September 4th, 2010 @ 2:54am CDT
Also hope for Zeta Prime and Grimlock. Zeta Prime would be SO cool to play as, he would probably be a Leader class, so it would fit fine. Ironhide and Ratchet are pretty much the same anyway, so...
New maps; i must say that Broken hope is my overall favourite map, so only i they can come up with something that has easy access to an overshield.
And in Multiplayer, they`d better do a god job. Havoc was OK. Fortress was bleh. Hoping for another map where you can push your foes over an edge, and watch as they falll towards their death.
But i STILL want some new stuff for the Campaigns. An extra mission of some sort, and hopefully one where you have to race, or follow some enemy in high speed. Now, THAT would be awesome. OH, and a level where Optimus and Megatron have to fight.

Abraxsis wrote:If it's the same lame content like the first DLC pack this will be an extremely easy pass. I rarely ever play the multiplayer component, and have played escalation a grand total of One time since getting this game five days prior to it's commercial release. Now if this second pack was an add on for the solo game, heck yeah, I'd be out getting a points card tomorrow. But another multi/esc pack...no thanks!!!
If all you are looking for is single player in this game, I'm sad to say you are really missing out... I don't play multi-player in most games, but after a bit of dabbling in all modes, I gotta say, its a lot more fun than the single player in the long term. Escalation is flat out awesome and challenging... although if you get set up with a crap team, it does kinda suck.
I do agree however, some single player add-ons would be nice, albeit short lived.
I'm fairly sure Dead End and Zeta Prime will get put in this pack, since they already had plenty of designs, and Zeta already has a model done, so less work for them.
I for one would LOVE if at any time they introduce a whole new class. I was thinking of another aerial class that could turn into Helicopter like alt modes. They could be airborne like scientists, but have a little more resistance like a leader. It's only wishful thinking though... People keep shouting grimlock, so it makes me think that dinobots, insecticons, or any other organic life form inspired classes would be kinda cool too, but even less likely.
They gotta add some turrets for the new escalation maps, it'd be fun as hell! Just slap a timer and big ass price on them so it's not ridiculously easy.
More fembots? abilities? man... as long as we shell out enough cash each time, hopefully high moon will keep dishing out more content, I love this game!
Posted by craggy on September 4th, 2010 @ 7:56am CDT
I am hoping this new round of DLC will be a bit more substantial than the first lot. I do like having the new chassis for mulitplayer, but the new maps weren't all that (haven't really tried the Escalation ones) and I'm really hoping for some new campaign goodness.
Of course, a new campaign level (maybe where you can play both sides of it with a big Optimus/Megatron fight at the end?) could introduce new characters who could be used in multiplayer.
Dead End seems a cert for inclusion, and I wouldn't mind some more of the drone-like enemies as playable chassis. More colour options for MP characters would be very welcome, but I suppose I can accept that they won't let us have red or blue Cons, or Black or Purple (or white?!!!) Bots because of the Scientist Class's Disguise ability.

love, love, love for High Moon!
I love the game, got the DLC1 as soon as it came out and hoped that the studio wouldn't stop.
Also said to myself when there's a nother addon, I'll get the headset. And WFC is the only ps3 game I play online but with another DLC I'll get it.
This is by far my N1 game on the ps3, and I have the damn thing for like 3 years now :s.
I really hope it all sells well so that there's a good signal to the studio and Hasbro that this line of Transformers is pure win! I do think they got the message, I mean, DLC2
Wahahaaa, I'm not even going to think about the new characters, it's gonna rock anyway!

The multiplayer's great! Check you connection. It might be faulty.
No, everyone on my buddy list has this problem with WfC.
Bear in mind we're on the PS3. This game just has some issues on the PS3.
I'm on the edge about this myself. The two problems I have found with the game (the lag/being unable to connect and freezing) have been the killers for everyone I know - a lot of people are going back to MW2. I'm going back and collecting trophies on some of my older games to not have to deal with MP problems on WfC for a while. I've almost given up hope on there being any "fixing" of this.
And, dear, it's it really as bad as we're making it out to be. I know maybe five people on my buddy list (it's fairly full, probably 90 some-odd people; maybe 60-70 of which have this game) whom can host a party, and when I do get in a party, freezing and the party being unable to get in a game can make so that I have waited to get into a game for over thirty minutes, for at least three distinct times I can think of off the top of my head, though the wait is commonly more like 15 minutes and 3 freezes before getting into a game in party successfully.
Playing solo is fine minus any lag you encounter. But solo is no fun when there are friends to be talking to.
So until I pick up WfC again (and I know I will...eventually) I'm on the edge about new DLC. No point in getting it if I can't actually get in a game with friends to enjoy it.

Well, it's a small world!
I do have a 360, but do not have Live hooked up (yet), so I went over to my best friend's house and tried out Multiplayer there. But when me and my friend were going on Round 3, it booted us out for no apparent reason. All the other games he had (Halo, etc.) were working fine, but WFC wasn't.

Way to create a sense of buyer's remorse in your PC customers.
Secondly, a second DLC this soon seems like it could be quite a nuisance for console players. A number of users complained that once the first DLC was released, it became harder to find multiplayer games, since you had to find enough people who also had the DLC for it to work.
Now, it seems to me like you are going to have to find people with DLC 1 AND DLC 2 to keep playing smoothly.
Thirdly, if you paid $60 for the game...and ten dollars for each DLC...then you spent $80 for this game. It's fun, but is this really an $80 game?
Maybe I'm just sour-graping.

Well... I spent $60 for the game. Was quite happy with it for what was paid. Then I paid $10 for the DLC. I felt the DLC was worth what I paid. I don't really think saying the game is $80 would be a fair assessment. It's optional, and is only really wanted by though who really love playing this game. That's like saying WoW is a $300 game if you played it for a year two.
I think the game is already fun and I got my money's worth. $10 more bucks to make it more fun, I'm down.

Agreed. You can't consolidate the prices of DLC and the main game especially since they are..OPTIONAL! I do like the WoW scenario....that would make some people cry if they really thought about it. I will say though I do think it's kind of odd that they still haven't fixed connectivity issues and the host migration yet. But hey I won't complain too much I've got a group that I play with that lag and hosting isn't a problem...actually most of them I met from this website. PLEASE GRIMLOCK and ULTRA MAGNUS....PLEASE

When you buy a console you know that you're going to have a solid gaming platform for at least 5 years. No upgrading and crap like that.
+ You pc guys (almost all of you) aren't going to pay for it anyway. Is there any one with a legal pc version of WFC? Piracy is killing your/our pc's, I can understand studios not making pc versions of their game.
+ the DLC isn't part of the original game, it's optional. Don't whine about High Moon Studios, look in the ps3 store, almost all developers use payed DLC. It's been around a few years now, maybe the 60+10 bucks argument is getting a little bit old.
Sorry for my negative post, I still have to wait 2 more days :s

I paid for the game, and so has every other PC user I've talked to. PC users are fine with paying for worthwhile content. And developers with Valve have found effective methods of keeping games patched, updated, and playable for five years without even charging players. Just look at Team Fortress 2. On any given night there are countless TF2 servers running...and most players probably bought it in the Orange Box or downloaded it from steam.
And the argument about adding the cost of the upgrades to the actual game isn't old. It's true. DLC, upgrades, and expansion packs are all ways that game companies trick you into paying more for the game than you ever would originally. Think about the fact that almost all of the new characters being released in the DLC were already made by HMS. We know this because they were either pre-order exclusives or because images of them appeared in the concept art. What HMS and other companies are doing is developing content that could be included in the game, but waiting to release it later so they can charge you more. It's the same thing with companies that release "Episodes" of video games. They actually make more money than if they released the whole game at once.
It's kind of like selling you a hamburger for three bucks, and then offering you pickles for an extra fifty cents, and then ketchup for another fifty cents. You've paid a third of the price of the hamburger just on two condiments.
And while the DLC is technically "optional" -- that is no one has to buy it to play the campaign -- every time the company releases a DLC, it actually lowers the play value of the original game. With each DLC, the play community becomes fractured. When you first buy the game, you have a gaming community of every other player with the game. Once DLC starts getting released, that gaming community -- and the odds of getting in a game -- is reduced. This is actually why the first players to download the first DLC complained. They felt like they paid ten dollars and had a hard time finding matches. Paying more for the game actually reduced its value. After enough time, though, and enough downloads, players are pressured into buying DLC just to stay in the game.
It's almost like they made the hamburger intentionally bland so that the pickles and ketchup seem more attractive.
That's fine if you feel comfortable paying $80 for a video game released in installments over four months. That's your choice and obviously you perceive the entertainment value of the game to be greater than anything else you could have done with those eighty bucks this summer.
It's true a lot of developers are using this tactic, and that's because it is quite effective on the consumer.

I totally agree with your arguments regarding the DLC decreasing the value of the online part of the original game. But since it's Transformers AND a great game I'm simply hyped about everything HMS releases regarding Transformers.
I think addons are still better then waiting for a sequel (that may get cancelled due to costs or whatever). It's a way of keeping the fanbase alive + getting more cash to make the sequel.

Tresob wrote:What HMS and other companies are doing is developing content that could be included in the game, but waiting to release it later so they can charge you more.
I had thought that the DLC for the pre-order characters came about because HMS saw people paying an arm and a leg for the codes, and figured they could also make a bit more by giving out extra stuff as well.
Tresob wrote:It's the same thing with companies that release "Episodes" of video games. They actually make more money than if they released the whole game at once.
Wrong. The idea of an episodic game is to release smaller, cheaper games at a faster rate. Look at Sam and Max, it's something like $30 for the entire season, you're automatically given episodes that haven't come out yet for the season you bought. (Well, not right now since Season 3 just ended and Season 4 isn't available for purchase) it's the same with every episodic series on Steam. (Except for Half-Life, obviously, because Valve Time)
I'll take the following paragraph back, assuming you can find me an episodic series that would cost you MORE than $50 for the entire season pack.
As for PC players never getting any love, it's the opposite for Team Fortress 2. I actually feel sorry for the players of the console port, us PC users currently have twice the content, and we didn't have to pay an extra dime.

Beginning a comment by abruptly declaring "wrong" might be a bit hasty.
Episodic games are really about a conservative approach to investments, so companies can abandon projects that don't seem to sell before costs become irrecoverable.
You appear to be correct that Telltale started offering subscriptions that are cheaper than buying episodes individually. It's been a long time since I bought an episodic video game.
But once subscriptions enter into the picture, I'm not really sure it's even episodic gaming anymore. I've seen other people observe that a subscription is really just buying a video game that comes out very slowly. The episodic video game business model started off as one in which the player paid for each installment. The player could quit buying levels of the game if they wanted.
A subscription just seems like a really generous pre-order sale on a game that will be released in parts. And the pre-order sale is probably made to look more generous by inflating the prices of the individual episodes.

I understand why they only did these two, because they already had them designed and rendered. But come on, we need something fresh! I was hoping for atleast another 5 character pack atleast. NO GRIMLOCK OR ULTRA MAGNUS!!!!

That's the problem, it's takes a lot of time to make new characters. It's only been a month since the last DLC, they can't have made five new characters, their alt-modes, their animations and their voices for Escalation in that time.

I understand it has only been a month. But Marvel Ultimate Alliance did it a good way. They created 2 new characters, and the rest were like these...already designed and rendered, or they were carried over from another console version i.e. PS2 or "hint hint" DS...the DS renders are there they just need to upgrade the details and better quality character mapping. That's all I'm saying....and they pushed that out in the same time frame...2 months....after the games release.

I kinda feel that way too. It doesn't even say how many new esc. maps there are compared to the multiplayer maps. Though I feel it will be the case of getting only 2 new esc maps because they have to make 1 for each faction. But regardless I will buy it so I can support the company. Is it going to be $10 for sure though? We aren't getting as much as last time. I find it funny they call this a character pack though when it really is a map pack.
[Edit] Looks like there are more tanks in the esc maps, now that's what I'm talking about

Not necessarily. I can't believe that they don't have some kind of a head start on content like this. So in a sense I would expect a little bit more or at least have them wait until they have new things to give. I also wanted to point out that voice work isn't even a factor because all the last bots of the dlc were just given the regular multiplayer voices.

Though I feel it will be the case of getting only 2 new esc maps because they have to make 1 for each faction. But regardless I will buy it so I can support the company. Is it going to be $10 for sure though? We aren't getting as much as last time. I find it funny they call this a character pack though when it really is a map pack.
[Edit] Looks like there are more tanks in the esc maps, now that's what I'm talking about
Sadly enough I bet this will be a $10 dollar add-on. Just absed on the trends I've seen for DLC over the years on XBL, the cheapest things I've seen as add-ons are Rock Band and Guitar Hero songs. By the way you should hit up some escalation with me a.k.a. "PanzerBatallion" agian! Must get the Wave 15 Achievement!!!!!!
