I actually liked the first movie's Voyager Megatron, at least the Best Buy Premium version, but I certainly don't need another one. That Soundwave, however, looks totally freaking sweet so far. There's no way I can allow myself to buy that though, not for Soundwave alone, and I've already decided to hold out for the Fallen on Fire repaint.

The Best Buy metallic Megs looks great, but the figure still sucks. This one doesn't look to be half as nice looking as that one, so it extra sucks. Now if it was a repaint of the ROTF voyager, more movie accurate colors...now that would be a buy! Meh. I don't know why they would stick the first Voyager Megs in there. I'm guessing Soundwave will be sought after and highly expensive loose on eBay, so I won't bother. The first one's good enough.

That Megatron looks like a non-metallic version of the Best Buy Premium Megatron (which I already own) but that Soundwave looks good...still, I would prefer a soundwave done in film accurate silver matte metallic (akin to the way Sideswipe was coloured as a toy). The Fallen I want, but I am not certain i will get. How bad exactly is his leg-peg problem?

It should've been ROTF Megs, with, like, G1 Megatron colors to correlate with Soundwave.

Damn I have all 3 of those molds (hell i got 3 soundwaves already) but I really want a blue Soundwave. Maybe i can get one of my friends to get it and ill buy Soundwave off him. Or buy it my self and keep it mint. Why couldnt they sell Soundwave on his own? I cant afford this.

I was actually pyched when I first saw teh repaint of Soundwave on tfw2005, but after looking at this image, it does not seem to be as good as I thought it was.

Too bad this isnt a WM exclusive- the hilarity that would ensue would be amazing. Can you imagine the returned TFs that would make it onto the shelf? I know its bad, but every time I see pics of that kind of stuff I giggle- where is that thread? (never do it, just like the show)

I already have a Soundwave in my collection. May pick up another cus I might have damaged his head but anyway! This soundwave looks... I'm not sure what but G1 Homage fails as does attempts to look REMOTELY Decepticon-ish. G1 Soundwave Homage Inferior, Retail ROTF Soundwave Superior.

I was getting Voyager Megatron anyway, but the second movie one, not that... thing!

And as for The Fallen... My friends hate me for this but my current financial state (I'm only 14 but... ah, I'm a weak collector) leaves me with another, more better alternative: Robot Replicas The Fallen. If anyone can tell me anything about that figure that may be good or bad or just anything, feel free to tell me.

not a bad thing.. I mean I don't have any of the ROTF movie figures yet, and to get this would be kinda cool.. wouldn't have to buy the fallen just a regular Soundwave I suppose..but I wish they had replaced the megatron with the New Voyager and repainted him in movie accurate silver.. then it would have been a perfect buy!

Heavy heavy sighs....what a travesty this set is! I bet the reason there is the old Megs in there is because/perhaps Best Buy will have a metallic release with the release of ROTF on DVD/Blue Ray. The mold totally sucks, but I bought two Best Buy exclusives and kept them in the box. As far as the Fallen...well I waiting out to see what the Target exclusive "Fallen on Fire" repaint looks like. I would buy the Soundwave if he was sold individually. Come on Hasbro...you're already standing on 3 legs, full of mange, and starting to smell like rotten eggs with this line...please don't make me take you out back and put you out of your misery! ~Reluctantyouth~

Does anyone know if that Megs' mold in those colours has been released stand-alone? I'm a little behind the times these days.

Not QUITE in those colours. It looks to be the same colourscheme as the best buy exclusive Megatron, but in Non-Mettallic paints.

So technically (and I use that term loosely), that version of Megs' is exclusive to that giftset? You'll have to excuse my ignorance, I only got the "Frozen" Megs' from the 2007 line and glossed over the others.

I bought the Best Buy Megatron and as you can see, the re-paint in the 3 pack is probally not the same. Notice how the Best Buy version has a shiny chrome finish while the one in the box appears to be dull grey like the first voyager Megatron. It appears that they colored the "ice" clear instead of blue like the first Megatron. I like the Fallen on Fire that was posted in the comments. It will look good next to the Fire Voyager Megatron from Target. I actually like repaints and am digging the Soundwave, but Im not purchacing a 4th Megatron and a double of Fallen to get him.

First off, that's 59 Euros or Pounds, or whatever currency that is, not $59 US or Canadian, so it's not a 'ripoff'. It's not SEVERE either, even it if was $59 US, seeing as it's $44 American for Two Voyagers, and $12-13 or whatever for the Deluxe.

Anywho, I'm wondering if that's just a Europe TRU exclusive. If that hits North America.. it should totally be a Costco Exclusive. But my gawd... I want that Soundwave repaint badly.

So right you are, but I already repainted my movie SW metallic blue and silver weeks ago :lol:

And I'm not a big fan of movie 1 Megs or movie Fallen

So TRU can keep their "exclusive" ROTF 3 pack - pass for me
I'm sure ALOT will end up on e-bay - b/c of the SW repaint I guess?

Yeah, pretty ,uch, it looks to be an "exclusive" in the technical sense. But, all in all, I think the Best Buy one looks better.

Also, I am a proud proponent of the 1st movie Voyager Megatron. His transformation is simple, but the playability is great and his bot mode looks fantastic, IMO. His Vehicle mode is no better or worse than the 1st movie Leader Megs either.

I'd actually say that 2007 Movie Voyager Megatron is the best Megatron movie mold out of the 4 we have so far, of course under Best Buy Voyager Megatron's colours. The only thing that is a severance is it's scale, so I'm always drawn to a Leader Megatron mold to go with Leader Prime.

If it ends up being $60, it is a SEVERE ripoff since sets are usually discounted, it would come out more that the original MSRPs, and 2007 Megs S U C K S ! ! !

@Kibble: Okay... if that's the case then it's almost as bad as the Whirl/Bludgeon twopack we have here in Canada that goes for $50. If this 3 pack ever hits up Canada, then it's going for more than $60. Sigh.

Well my reason is that the mold hasn't gotten used up all too much.

The first release is the obvious 2007 Movie Voyager Megatron;

and it never hit mainstream stores, with the release of Best Buy Megatron;

or the Target Exclusive 'Flame Megatron' in a two pack with Final Battle Jazz

So thus... that is at least my reasoning as to why this is the case.

Dammit, I thought that it was going to be the '09 Voyager. Ah well, at least I haven't bought the Fallen yet, and I can sell that Megatron off cheap. I will get this set for the Soundwave, which looks fantastic.

You're wrong. The Megatron is a new paintjob, very simillar to an older one, but not entirely unoriginal.

Well, maybe Hasbro thought there's still some demand for a Premium Voyager Megatron. For me, this is a great way to get:

1) A Premium Megatron look-a-like
2) A G1-colored figure, Soundwave
3) A bonus figure, The Fallen.

It works out

Now I need that Screen Battles one...
