What an exciting time this is for Transformers fans, with a packed few weeks of news and reveals. In response, the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast crew takes a ride on the wheel of fortune to determine cast member topic choices from the multitude available. What does that mean? Tune in to find out as Megatronus takes the driver's seat, spinning the wheel of topic fate for xRotorstormx, Cobotron, and Tigertrack. Destiny awaits!

Episode #258 “2020: A Space Odyssey” is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.

•I finally won something! And it was the ability to choose my topic to discuss first, and I picked to dabble into debate about the slew of Generations Selects reveals, preorders, and future.

What would you call our new repaint of Ramjet in tan and brown pixalated camo with the awesome nosecone/cockpit mouth deco? Does G2 Megatron stoke your fire of plastic desire? How about Bugbite, or Black Rorrichi? Are there larger selects offerings on the horizon? Hmmm…

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #258 “2020: A Space Odyssey”

•Next up, on the wheel of fortune topic of choice Is Cobotron, and he wants to discuss the out-of-the-blue pre-order release and announcement of ‘Galactic Odyssey’ Paradron Lifeline and Ratchet two-pack. Fate decrees your wallet will be squirming in the near future as our favorite bots travel amongst 5 planets on their journey to Earth producing exclusives for us to buy.

What exclusives could the other 4 planets hold? Why Amazon, why now? Exclusives seem to be all over the place, BUT how accessible do you feel they are?

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #258 “2020: A Space Odyssey”

•xRotorstormx decides next according to wheel of so many topics still left to choose from and she wants to take the driver's seat and talk about the new spacetruckin' 18-wheeler--- the Netflix Spoiler Pack #2 — Nemesis Prime with trailer and red Slitherfang set.

Is it better than the Ultra Magnus wave 1 spoiler pack? What does it spoil? Does this fulfill people’s domestic need for the Nemesis Prime repaint that they may not have gotten via Takara Tomy mall? Thank Primus there are more energon cubes to mine.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #258 “2020: A Space Odyssey”

•Megatronus chose our last topic of the show… the ever important War for Cybertron KINGDOM early version toy leaks that have been free flowing over the last week.

SPOILERS. If you don’t want to hear about it, maybe skip this topic…

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #258 “2020: A Space Odyssey”

•We end the show with some bragging rights, which lead to discussion of Earthrise Sky Lynx, Earthrise Scorponok, and the recently-released Target exclusive MPM Starscream among other TF toys.

I had suggested on the forums that the HasLab's next figure should be a giant Dino Megazord and the idea was instantly shot down for not being in scale with existing Megazords. As a Transformers fan I don't really let scale bother me, if it's a great robot figure I don't care if I don't have anything else to go with. I wonder how many PR fans actually share that mentality and would turn their nose up to an over sized Megazord?

I don't know why there's this feeling that Hasbro's product needs to match Bandai's scale.

Especially if we're talking HasLab, a Megazord would likely err on the higher end of the price spectrum due to the conversions - think Unicron's $575 rather than Sentinel's $350 - so why dictate a HasLab project be the same size as a $100 retail product?

Some people, man. Some people.

OK, time to go!

Matt picks up where I wanted to start: i love Sandstorm, so glad to get another seeker like this, and bring a concept to life at last! I am loving all the G2 related stuff. And the sheer number of seekers for the armada. We now basically have 12 seekers, keep it going!

I'm passing on this G2 Megs, I am good with the GDO repaint one i have. I have the 3 G2 Megs I want!

Bugbite was cool for me because he's a Mercenary. Black Roritchi is pretty cool, the colors are very sharp.

Matt, I agree. I am not really into G2, but I find so much of it so cool. I want to see more of those concepts come to life. Heck with Sandstorm, we could get Blackout, and then those other 2 repaints like you started mentioning (1 conehead in cloud camo, 1 normal seeker in jungle camo).

Desert Storm is brilliant Cobs!

I would have liked a Bugbite with tribal tattoos, and would have preferred him be a Bee repaint instead of Cliff with Bee head repaint, but I'm still good with him.

G2 yellow/teal Sideswipe! $10 says Toyhax makes a conversion kit for that one.

I really hope Black Roritchi is a bellweather for a Black Zarak. That would be so cool.

The Selects have sold out really quickly normally. Rarely do we have leftover selects.

Selects wise, I think it'll be at least 5 years before we see another one again. And to be honest, I hope Unicron was our one and only. do we really need another campaign like this one?

I'm really curious to see what our final Selects reveal is. That Diaclone 2-pack was awesome, I'm very excited for that pair!

Cobs, I feel the same as you with regards to Botcon. It's really cool to see this stuff coming now that I am in a position to afford this stuff. The last Botcon was my junior year of college, so I was never able to go.

Cobs, once again I feel the same, but in a little different way. Prime and IDW has made Ratchet a closet favorite of mine, one that I didn't know stood out so much, but he does. I am happy to get him, he looks pretty good. And I'm happy to get the Arcee mold in this weird fashion, very nice!

I see planet Micro as Target 10-pack part II as well. But we do have a rumor that it is a white Ironworks with space shuttle micromasters, so there is that out there as well. But I love this idea of it being Micronus Prime, that would be sweet!

Biosfera: I really think it's beastformers, but more like Apeface/Snapdragon repaints. Or maybe it's our Amazon headmasters thing?

Botropolis: I really think Go-bots, but I would love Black zarak showing up there too!

I don't think the coneheads/Ironhide and Prowl sets are associated with this. It is a lot like last year where Skywarp and G2 Sideswipe came from: a good guy and bad buy set with connecting art work as a vs set.

Fear of missing out is really high with me. They go up quick, and they've been going really quick too. Despite going up multiple places, I still feel that fear creep in. It wasn't until the evening after it's reveal that I wanted to pre-order Tigertrack, and I had to get him from TFsource because Pulse sold out almost instantly.

Doesn't help that some of these stores are very hit and miss with exclusives. Walmart is a big example, it's horrendous trying to pre-order.

It also sucks for the international market. They are getting pretty miffed at the cost to get these selects and such, since they are only really available for the original price at US only shippers. I know more than a couple Australian and UK folk who have been hating the exclusives since they are struggled to secure them in their countries.

That Magnus, I think there must have been a very small number of people buying him. It was baffling how many people cancelled him after seeing the contents, and then no one wanted him when he showed up. $20 sale right after he arrived anyone?

This new spoiler pack is interesting, but nothing really standing out to me besides the red snake dude.

I'm sort of the opposite of you guys, Earthrise has successfully enabled me to decide that the Siege versions are my versions, I don't need to duplicates, except for Ratchet as stated above and maybe Bluestreak because he looks so dang good.

Kingdom: spoilers of this nature are disappointing in a sense, I like being surprised, like we were tuesday with the diaclone repaints. I prefer to be surprised! Enjoy it!

Ari: I'm pretty sure i heard these rumors say the line would be 50/50 BW and G1, with G1 bleeding over into SS to allow for more G1 releases.

If you go by the Predacus Botcon comics, G1 Inferno became BW Inferno, for an evolution 2-pack ;)

Cheetor's robot mode does look nice and swish. It's balanced, and it's compact, not flaring out everywhere. I like that his tail sword/club is sort of a transmetal cheetor reference too.

I so so SO want fossilizers to be true. I want to do some dinosaur skeleton partsformers armorforming!!! The leaks said they were original characters too, so I don't think it will be the Beast Machines dinobots.

I think the $5.99 price point might go away here soon. I don't think it moves fast enough. Walmarts don't carry the battle or micromasters, haven't since wave 1 Siege, and Target STILL has wave 1 Siege. I have seen exactly no wave 2 or 3 Siege battlemasters, only saw Singe once and no Rung, and I've seen Smashdown in Earthrise packaging a couple times and exactly 1 Soundbarrier, and that's it. It's mostly Blowpipe and Lionizer around here.

I'm really eager to see Beast Megatron as a leader, I'm ready to see that. I want to replace my MP on the Beast shelf.

I wish we would get a Commander Magnaboss or Tripredacus. But sadly, both commander and titan are said to be non-beast related next year.

Dang, I was looking forward to some MPM starscream talk! And some SS Devastator talk! until next time...

MPM Jazz is fantastic Ari, I hope you enjoy him!!

I can agree with Ari about him. He is proving to be a good figure, just his arms let him down. Argh, shoulders and bicep swivel! It annoys me because of how close he is, he's right there, he just needs those little steps. I also wish his head had a smidge more movement too, but I'm more OK with it. It is an impressive toy for sure.

Sky Lynx is an absolutely rockin' toy. That is such a great figure, like WFC figure of the trilogy for me. He pulls off every mode great for me, there isn't a mode I think is noticeably weaker than the rest. I love the Lynx the best, I plan to display his 2 halves separate for that reason.

Great show everyone! Loved the format too, was great to hear everyone start something off, and choose from the categories what they wanted to start talking about!

Thanks for all the interaction Dalton.

I am ready for the announcement of every proto idea that came close to fruition. Why not?

I'm curious about all of these repaint packs with double the same mold. Skywarp and Thundercracker, Ramjet and Dirge (minus wings), and now we Cordon and Spinout. ER Barricade and Blue Bluestreak?

Maybe that's a different episode.

Shall we petition for a name change for Sandstorm?!

I too am excited about the Lambo Diapack! I cheered out loud at it's reveal, but I'm sure you all could have guessed that. #diaclonejunkie
There are so many more Diaclones they could do this with, and I want them ALL!!!!

Emerje, during our convo about Haslab, I thought about a Megazord, but I don't think I said it. Sure, it wouldn't be in scale with old toys, but it WOULD be in scale with the 6 in figures. It would be HUGE!!! Some people.

D-Max, you mention other iterations of Ratchet, and I think that has fed my new found interest in him. Especially Prime Ratchet. By smooshing he and Ironhide together, made for a much richer, more complex character.

Both of these yes. I love to hear what ideas they had cooking, even if they didn't happen. Still sad the MTMTE head of Rodimus for TR Hot Rod didn't happen.

I would not mind 1 more set with the same mold, like Bitstream and Sunstorm to complete the welcoming committee trio. Maybe Jungle camo Screamer and cloud camo ramjet too.

Cobs, Prime Ratchet, and probably Animated Ratchet before him, triggered a Ratchet evolution in my eyes. Made Ratchet the grumpy old medic stuck in his ways and always having something to grouch about. That has become his thing since Animated, and it has made him such a great character. It's really turned him into one of the main guys and one of the most interesting!
