Several articles on British websites have posted stories regarding a recent event in which the current British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown stated his opinion on a radio show that Optimus Prime could solve the current problems in our world. Trust a Politician to want to palm off the solving of a problem to somebody else.

He was not being serious but given the times we are living in he needs to be more serious than this at all times especially when so many are losing their jobs, homes and livelihoods.

Yep. He's a retard. Figures he wants to model himself on a 2 dimensional charecter who in reality would be a terrible military leader...

Actully, he really is modelling himself on prime!

We have many ex-Brits living and doing well over here mate. You would be welcomed to the colonies with open arms. You will have to learn to shovel snow and handle a -40 Celsius winter windchill and +40 Celsius summer humidity.

Indeed, Plenty of expats, lots of beer, and you have a better chance at getting the figures that Hasbro-uk seems to mess up. If you can handle football being a lower tier sport over here but are willing to give Hockey a chance then Canada may be your answer.

PS: there are parts of the country where the temperatures aren't that extreme.

I'll live right next to the US border, so I can drive on down and raid the closest walmart and target stores :P

I dunno what it is but this does make me somewhat proud. You can tell he's just making a joke; which other heads of state involve popular culture, much less our hobby, in their talks?

I also think Prime would make a great leader for our country.

I smell jumping on of the Obama/Spider-Man bandwagon here.

He's trying to be hip. It isn't working.

Then again, Optimus was in charge of the Autobots when they lost Cybertron to the Decepticons, and saw it turned into a barren wasteland, so maybe he's not kidding about Prime being a role model of sorts. If only he'd let Megatron crush him with his bare hands.

He has much more in common with Rodimus Prime, he inherited an un-winnable war from his predecessor (but still declared his victory), dragged an unrelated race into the war (nebulos) he had no real ideas on leadership, and ultimately gave up and will be best remembered as an aberration of history.

Further proof that the people running our country have no connection with reality.
The economic situation the UK is currently in is not really a matter for frivolity.
Don't get me started on the recently passed Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill.
Scary times.
:-(

...having said that, i can't wait for Brown to go to Gaza and greet members of Hamas with "Bah weep granah weep ninnibon!"

Wow, (and not world of...)

To put trust in a cartoon character. Well better to be Prime then the character Bush' taking as an example... who ever that might be, Mojo Jojo or something?

Maybe they should make Peter Cullen Prime Minister, I mean, he was voice actor for a long time, I think he knows what Prime would do and say. And ofcourse how to say it :)
