Black Friday and Cyber Monday may have both come and gone, but the great sales on Transformers continue.
Thanks to Seibertron.com members nemesis-prime and GlenSColen we have a hot tip on yet another awesome deal. Currently on Walmart.com the US version of Masterpiece Skywarp has been lowered to just $49.00. For those of you not familiar with Walmart sales, the $49 price was listed as a "rollback" which means this is the new standard pricing. This is somewhat surprising as this is still a pretty new release. It is also a Walmart Exclusive so it's not like they have to compete with other stores over their price.
On the item page, it is mentioned that "Prices in Store May Vary" Well, thanks to Seibertron.com member Grahf we know that is definitely true. Take a close look at his receipt and you'll see for yourself.
Granted, this might be the exception rather than the rule, and some stores may still even have the original list price but it is certainly worth looking into if you are interested in this figure.

sorry, I just need to point this out... "come and GONE" not "come and went".

I still have yet to see these in any sores in the st louis , mo area. Mine came from the website.

That's why I was very surprised to see this sale so quickly, when it seems like they have been hard to find.

I was tempted to nab every single one on the display, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Hopefully an actual collector will be able to get some before the scalpers zone in.

GlenSColen wrote:Fair Lakes, VA had them out for roughly 1 day before selling out and removing the entire display end cap. I had to order mine though Walmart.com for $60 + tax w/ free site-to-store shipping. I was able to get them to credit me the $11 difference after rollback but it took some haggling as they only price-match rollbacks for 7 days from the date you place your order (not the actual date the item arrives in store).
so is it too late for me to get the difference? I bought mine 11/7 full price and went back a week later to return it (problem w/stand). I only have my original receipt. What is wally's policy on this? i'd love to get the rollback. thx.

i can only hope the sale effects my area and there is still at least 1 on the shelf!

Check the return policy...if it's more than 30 days, just buy it again and return the sealed one with the full price receipt.

I know, I know, I know. It is just so much more fun to go to the store and actually find it on the shelf....ordering TF's online just takes part of the fun away.

Does walmart.com not ship to CAN either?

I'm pretty sure they don't. We have our own Walmart site which doesn't offer online shopping, it only allows us to check prices and potentially if the item is available at a particular store.

When you put the US and Takara ones side by side, yes the paint apps kind of suck. The Takara one is nice and shiny, the US one... not so much. Mine are going to be customized and repainted pretty soon, so the flat black paint isn't really a problem for me.

Do it. Especially if you don't have the Takara version. You'll kick yourself later -it's awesome. If you find it for less than 30, which may be difficult, get it immediately. But it's definitely worth it for 30.

kind of hard to say. I've dealt with 2 MP skywarps so far. The one i opened last year had tight thrust vectors by the tail fins, the latest one i opened -they were looser. Not bad though. The airbrake and the engine covers do seem easier to open though. Doesn't bother me. Let's hope there are no issues with MP Thundercracker when he gets his US release.

The only problems I've run into mine is that he doesn't like to stay attached to his stand in his plane mode. Other than that, he is damn near perfect.

I don't collect repaints, otherwise, I'd buy it. However, if he drops to an insanely low price, I might consider it.

The display model shown at SDCC (below) -I'm not sure - I think it's glossy & not matte finish -at least the one outside of the box.
Why didn't i pay more attention to these things before?? Experts, please chime in.

vectorA3 wrote:you know what? H pulled a fast one on us. The display model shown at Botcon had the glossy finish to the paint job.
It figures, probably just another way for them to cut costs.

I offered to clean out 13 of them if they gave them to me for $15(whole stock of them)
Didn't work but I tried with 2 diff managers lol (yes I actually got two members of Walmart management to meet me in the clearance isle the same nite)

My local Walmart couldn't give them away.
They ended up marked down to $30. Still couldn't bring myself to buy one.
When they got marked down to $20 I caved in an got one last night. I wasn't really planning on it but thats a good deal IMO.
He's pretty good. Like others have said I wish he was a glossy black and his purple was deeper but I like the figure.
In terms of construction he seems to be a bit better than my Walmart MP Starscream. My Skywarp figs waist seems to hold together better.
