I am looking forward to that new Bee. I've already got a whole shelf cleared for the RotB figures! I really can not wait to see Scourge.

Mixed feelings about this figure based on the premise under which it was concocted for the movie. I kind of remember the Bayverse franchise saying they didn't want to do massforming because 'it wasn't realistic'. But their transformers seem able to flexibly and dynamically tweak their alt modes completely on whim. In the 2007 move, Bumblebee just suddenly decides, 'OK I'm going to go from 70s Camero to 2007 Camero just by turning around in this TUNNEL'. Now all his armor plating and inner mechanisms can just squirm around dynamically so he can go from normal car to off-road car when it's convenient?

They need to have limits on that sort of behavior to make it more palatable as a movie gimmick. You can't just have them reformat from one alt mode to another so easily - otherwise, why not just make them ALL like AoE Galvatron, composed of flying nanites that can become anything at any time?

I'm annoyed that it still has visible-arms-syndrome again, but it still look nice all over and seems to be more fun to handle than the previous Bees.

The Bumblebee film basically rewrote everything on that with Bee going from a Cybertronian car, to a jeep to a VW Beetle to a 70s Camaro. So a slight change from a 70s Camaro to an 70s Camaro with different tires and some racks seems tame by comparison.

Plus, TLK completely broke all of the rules by having Bumblebee just reassemble himself after being literally blown to bits, when everyone else that happened to in the previous movies just instantly died and stayed dead. >:oP

Maybe Bee injected himself with that "Transformium" juice from AoE that allow the :CON: to disintegrate and reassemble themselves to "transform". :-?

"Transformium" was just KSI's focus-grouped name for the stuff that all Cybertronians (including Bumblebee) are already made of. The robots built by KSI could pixelate their transformations because they were programmed to transform like that.

Who care what's it's called and where that come from. It could be flour mixed with 9V batteries shoved into the bot's ass it would still be the same bullshiit. I obviously meant that Bee took notes that allow him to go full Waspinator.

The Movie Megs display is almost done (even if it's a bit crowded.)

Now all I need is a SS TLK Megs (hopefully a leader) and MPM ROTF Megs (or a proper MP style 3P version not that SS oversized KO.). Then it will be complete.

No news yet and unless they continue the AoE Dinobots, I don't think it will ever happen.

But if you don't mind, that Grimlock got an improved oversized KO and it's the same price as a MSRP leader. Hunt it down on eBay or AliExpress. The scale will also be better with the SS toys.

I think they mean the G1 grimlock figure not the AoE one.

If you don't care too much about colours there is rumours of a G2 Grimlock release next year but nothing about a Reissue

I just can't read. :HEADHURTS:

For SS86 Grimlock, chances for a reissue are high.

Continuing this thread though, I think they’ll have to rerelease SS AOE Grimlock some point. 2024 is the 10th anniversary of AOE and I think we’d be done with the G1 Dinobots at that point, so that’d be a good opportunity to start making the other AOE Dinobots, and it’s been so long since Grimlock was around that a reissue would be great.

That would be a logical choice. Plus SS LEADER AoE Grimlock was never repainted so mold degradation shouldn't be an issue.

Would a Devastator-style boxed set be out of the question? I know Grimmy was huge even for a leader, and I would think at least 1 of the other ones would be a leader figure, most likely the flyer.

Scorn is bigger than Grimlock in dino mode so he'd definitely be a Leader. Not sure if they could go smaller with the Slug and Strafe since all four have roughly the same bot size like in G1. Maybe a box set would be best, that way they don't have to conform entirely to size classes / price points.

So with the latest rumors saying that SS will get a commander class toy next year, I was really hoping for Stratosphere since that was floating around at some point. But sadly it will be SS86 Magnus, but that is for another thread.

What character from the movies would like to see get a commander class release? For me I want to see all of the TF4 dinobots done at CC for better scale. Maybe Devcon would work here too? Wouldn't mind a proper Scavenger/Demolisher that could go and take the leader classes place and make Devastator even more accurate.

I think all the ones you mentioned would be great, I’d also like to mention AOE Junkheap (since he’s 3 bots that would be big deluxes/small voyagers with a combined alt mode)

I’m not sure how feasible it would be, but a DOTM Decepticon fighter/orbital assault carrier would also be very cool! It’d have to fit a deluxe figure like Bumblebee or a Decepticon Protoform inside, and shifts between a few modes in the movie, so it still works as it’s own Transformer.

The first Studio Series Commander being 86 Magnus is very disappointing, but it does open the door for more Commanders in the future!

If the first commander is indeed SS86 Magnus and it's his own brand new and improved mode with less partsforming (or none at all) than the Siege/Kingdom one, I'll be all for it. I'm sure there will be no partsforming and it will be like that old Combiner Wars leader because in the toon and movie, the small white "Optimus" do not exist.

I'm pretty happy about this because not only will we get a "mini MP" Magnus, but this open the door to more movieverse commanders.
I wonder, would a set that have a Core Class scale DOTM Shockwave and his Driller fit the Commander class price-point, or should it be a Titan? :-?

Kind of crazy how Gamestop has become the go to place for Transformers toys in Canada, both in terms of price (thanks to the Edge card) and timeliness of release. Case in point, Studio Series The Fallen. Gamestop is the first place to have this anticipated leader class figure and it has shown up in Ontario and Quebec so far. The image below is from a Montreal location.

My GameStop didn't had anything new on the shelves appart a lone Holiday Optimus Prime. I would have had saved around 10$CAN if I bought it there, but that was a chance I wouldn't take when I ordered mine and my friend's online.

A Commander Magnus, especially tossed into SS86, is groanworthy levels of utterly unnecessary.

For movie commanders, the following all could work:

-AOE Dinobots (they've done G1 Ironhide 3 times in 4 years, having a new scale to re-do Grimlock in would be both practical and awesome)
-DotM Devcon
-TLK Infernocus
-Demolishor (sure he could re-use the Scavenger mold, but a larger version for screen accuracy to the beginning of RotF can work too)
-Blackout/Grindor (see above comment)
-Jetwing Prime (another case of already done, but they could make it far more accurate by just using voyager Prime and adding the jet armor to make him properly bigger, balanced, and more movie accurate)

I have been transforming Crosshairs and Hot Rod some more, these are 2 really good deluxes, definitely some very fun figures. Despite not getting a lot, this year was very solid for live action SS.

Got these guys for Christmas!

Christmas 2022 bots.jpg

Really liking all three of them! NEST Bee is a cool repaint of the very good Jeep Bee mold, it's really nice seeing the NEST logo again!

The Fallen is great, the articulation took a little bit to figure out, but very glad to add him to the collection!

PF Megatron might be my favorite of the bunch, he's excellent! Super hefty for a voyager, and the transformation with the wings folding into the legs is really cool!

My picture doesn't really do it justice, but PF Megatron is painted in a slightly darker silver paint (almost gunmetal) with brighter silver dry brushing on top. The PF also has a secondary copper-like color used for details throughout the figure and the underside of the wings, whereas the original to my knowledge was just silver and underlying gray plastic.

I don't know about you, but I sure didn't miss the days of getting piece meal leaks with a lot of the product obscured. But here we are again with leader class ROTB Scourge from Studio Series. He and Optimus Primal are the only ROTB leaders that we know of at the moment with SS86 Snarl being the other leader coming out next year. The toy in the photo is also not fully transformed, but it does give us an idea at the detail we'll get with the toy and we have a good look at its headsculpt which resembles the Terrorcon logo used in the film. Hopefully this means that the toy is well into production and we'll get better shots of this figure which will give us a better look at the character design. We can see that he has a claw hand, as we saw in the trailer and his other hand seems to have a blade type weapon, probably what he uses to impale Bumblebee in the film.

Hmm...the face reminds me of Sauron...

As for the rest of him, I see that he's not fully transformed, but honestly I was expecting him to be bulkier. I won't say anything else until I see a clear shot of the figure displayed properly, but so far, just like with the movie itself, I'm not impressed. Too bad, this was really the only figure I was looking forward to in the whole line. A big, bulky, menacing monstrosity that I thought might give Grimlock a run for his money. Maybe some better production shots will change my mind.

I was too, from initial impressions from concept art we weren't privy to, but in the trailer he looked quite lean and generic. This looks pretty close to that.

The only part I'm interested in right now is the face, which almost has a samurai vibe to me...

Yeah I get that vibe as well, though its also looking familiar to me, like I've seen a similar design in a movie.

I would, but my retail one is still in moving totes. I will get there eventually. But EM-Bee is right, the PF one is darker and has multiple other colors with it too.

Scourge looks interesting, like the looks of the head at least. Given that we are nearing when Wave 1 2023 should theoretically be coming out, wonder how long until the rest of the wave are properly revealed.

I got no robots for christmas, but Laserbeak did chill with me for New Years, I still like him

Scourge seems fairly screen acurate from what we can tell, but we'll have to see more pics. I like the alt mode design but I'm not sold on robot mode from what we've seen in the trailer.

Also, I finished something I've been working on for a long time - my custom SS-44 DOTM Optimus Prime with hand painted flames! Did some modding as well, adding the missing roof lights and longer smokestacks!

Thank you!

For a long time I really didn't think I'd ever get all the flames done, but I'm very happy with how they turned out!

The head sculpt may sell me on the toy for that reason.

I remember someone on TFW2005 mentioning the crusader from Indiana Jones 3. I can kinda see it from the neck.

I'm also curious about the claw on the left arm. Wonder if it's mistranformed or if it's actually supposed to look so large and inhuman.
