Is it Arcee? Is it Slipstream? Activision/Step-3 were kind enough to send us five downloadable content codes for War For Cybertron, that we'll be giving away in a little contest. Sorry, PS3 owners only! The downloadable content contains five new characters, Scattorshot, Jazz, Demolishor, Shockwave and Onslaught, as well as two new Escalation maps and two new Multiplayer maps.

How is this contest going to work? As of now, we only have five War For Cybertron toys, two of them are already out - Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, while three have yet to hit retail - Megatron, Soundwave and Cliffjumper. We're asking you, Which of the following War For Cybertron characters deserves to have a figure in the Generations toyline? We're looking for a minimum three sentence paragraph, creatively explaining why your one chosen character should be in Generations. Simply post your paragraph in this thread, and you'll be entered into the contest. We'll be picking the best five responses! The characters eligible in this contest are ones that are playable in the game. They are listed below for your own convenience.

:BOT:
Air Raid
Arcee
Ironhide
Jazz
Jetfire
Ratchet
Scattorshot
Sideswipe
Silverbolt

:CON:

Ok, IF Shockwave does not win for the decepticon side...

Hmm, who to choose? Which character has the sheer force of will to complain, belittle, and outright treason his way into being a WFC Generations toy?

S - is for his team they call the seekers
T - is for the treason in his heart
A - is for the autobots he shoots at
R - is for his raids on quickie - marts
S - is for his buddy named Skywarp
C - is for his planet cybertron
R - is for his rays (I'm talking NULLLLL rays)
E - is for his equals - he has NONE!
A - is for the airlock he kicked someone out of
M - is for Megatron *see above*

Put it together and what's it spell?

Why, none other than STARSCREAM, that's who! Starstream (like Prime, Bumblebee, Soundwave and Megatron) is practially an ICON of transformerdom. His characterization in the WFC game was spot on and so took me back to the old days of G1. You can't have a transformer toyline without good ol' 'Screamer. There are a few transformers which I must always buy due to the fact that they were the first ones I ever had as a kid. Cliffjumper was the first, Thundercracker was the second - and my brother got Starscream at the same time.

SO, I cast my precious vote for Starscream and lay a Scientist Rocket sentry to watch over it!

*PS - also if starscream is made we might get repaints for thundercracker and skywarp so it's a triple win!!*

Shockwave has long been a shady subject to avid Transformers enthusiasts. With only a handful of toys, his character is only best described through his rare appearances on the G1 television show and his appearances in the comics. Second in command to Megatron, this Military Operations Commander brutally plans any task to take down the Autobots, to greater suit his loyality to his leader. His characteristic voice, signature cannon arm and his cyclopean, one-eyed visage is easily recognizable to anyone.
In War for Cybertron, Shockwave is very reminiscent to his G1 self. His dark purple Decepticon representation fits perfectly. His alternate mode is a very gun-like jet, similar to his gun mode in G1. A new Shockwave figure would sell out on the market, as Shockwave toys are a thing of rarity. Selling to fans, collectors, and gamers alike; Shockwave would evilly command your collection of Generations and War for Cybertron figures. :CON:

Jetfire should have a figure. The reason for this is because of Jetfire's role in helping bring down tripticon from space for optimus and the gang to "finish" him off before tripticon took out all of the escaping autobot ships...

Think about the autobot race and the possibility of their kind being annihilated had it not been for jetfire and his crew...

The only logical choice for a figure is Shockwave. His awesomeness is logical. Hypothesis: Shockwave should become a toy released under the Generations line. Starscream: Illogical. Squishy human worm babies need his trigger crotch... OF LOGIC.

Since the Autobots have more figures than the Decepticons, it would be great to see another Decepticon join them. There are many cool characters on the list, but I have to go with Onslaught. Despite the iconic status of the likes of Starscream and Shockwave I think it would be cool to see the lesser known Combaticon get a figure, just like how we're also getting Cliffjumper. The Generations line isn't about just the well known characters, it's about the characters that span the Transformers universe, just like how we're getting Drift. With nice details that clearly define him as a Decepticon as well as cool weapons, the newest Decepticon Leader in the War for Cybertron would make a great figure.

I must say Shockwave, simply because he is cool, iconic G1 and has few toys made of him.

If it should be an autobot so should it be Arcee of same reason.

Look at the line we are debating about: Generations - characters that have seen multiple iterations, and deserve a place in the lineup, due to sheer strength of recognisability in the canon.

For the Autobots: Jetfire. Criminally understocked and hard to find, major character, Cybertronian form arguably canon (Finest scientific mind, called to arms, etc. etc - from whichever canon you draw from). Major player material, if done right.

For the 'Cons: Shockwave. Again, originally criminally understocked and out of print (I paid over $150 last year for a mint, exceptionally good knock-off, and it was a BARGAIN).
Following all the 'Shockblast' and Alternators halfway houses, a Cybertronian figure would be phenominal, and stand the test of time for collectors for years (and Generations) to come. And, we NEED a 'go to' Shockwave for the future....

:BOT:It should be Air Raid, He is a lesser character but there are very few different Autobot flyers whose names have been reused. The repaint options are a generous amount too, like me most people figured out that he a good Springer repaint in the game along with one or two other Arialbots. I also believe that he would have the most complex and interesting transformation compared to the other candidates due to how his Cybertron jet mode folds in from the front to the back.

All the characters in WFC are awesome, but I'd have to vote for Arcee. She's always overlooked when it comes time to release toys.

Shockwave for the Decepticon side and Jazz for the Autobots.

Slipstream.

Its the only character to never have a figure out of all of them and is highly unlikely to get one any time soon.

Hasbro have already confirmed a new Shockwave more or less(TFTM3).

slip stream is a unique character being the only female seeker(even though transformers are asexual which would really mean ITs effeminate).

Shockwave has had 3 official figures, 1 homage and one third party WST. And hes getting another one. Id be happier with any other of the lesser known cons.

And how are they gpoing to know if your are a PS3 owner or not? do we have to post our gamer tags on here aswell?

I'd like to see Slipstream, if for no other reason that all the other characters have toys already.

In addition, an awful lot of fans love Seekers and Animated, which is still fresh in our collective minds.

I can't think of any female G1 Decepticons apart from the Botcon chaarcter, Flamewar.

Failing that, I'd love to see Barricade whose WFC/G1 self has yet to get a toy. I think he's based more on the Movie version rather than the Micromaster. Despite the character blurb suggesting otherwise, the name Barricade is best associated with the Movie Decepticon police car. I know I'd love a G1/WFC version of said character, preferably as a Scout.

Hi All, like a previous poster I myself don't have a PS3 either (shooter belong on computers). BUT, I'd vote for Slipstream and Omega Supreme! Just because Omega is a boss for the Decepticons doesn't make him not an Autobot, and those that have played the game know how integral he is (and lets be fair... he hasn't gotten a whole lot of remakes himself). As for slipstream, we haven't gotten a whole lot of bad girl bots lately, sure there's been a few black arachinas thrown around.... but a female seeker, that's got my name on it. Besides what ever happened to the dreadwing/slipstream clone of Starscream from Animated... did she get dropped like a bad habit? (always knew scream had a little girl in him ^.~).

For the Bot - Ultra Magnus. That WFC UMagnus design is the best since the G1 era. This is another opportunity for something that is not a Prime repaint.

For the Con - Motormaster.

I think they ALL deserve toys. Starscream is the most obvious choice, I would be more surprised if he DIDN't get a toy as he is the third most important character in Transformers history. I would love to get Thundercracker and Skywarp repaints as well. (Personally Thundercracker is my favorite but it would be very odd to make a Thundercracker toy before/instead of Starscream.) On the Autobot side I would want Silverbolt the most, followed by Air Raid and Sideswipe. (Why isn't Sideswipe on the list?) Arcee and Slipstream toys would also be awesome, female TFs need more love.

Don't bother entering me into the contest, I already bought the DLC.

WHICH WFC character deserves a figure to be endorsed by the Hasbro name? Well, to be fair, they certainly all do, because of High Moon Studios' aesthetic devotion to the heart of the characters. Looking at this from a marketing angle, however, which character would A) appeal to fans more and not be a Mudflap pegwarmer, B) be included in the Generations line (of which Hasbro has stated that they are trying to revitalize characters into figures who have not had a figure in a long while representative of them), and C) seem a natural fit and a must have toy.

Every character on this list has had a figure come out from Hasbro lately or will have one soon except Air Raid and Scattorshot. Shockwave will obviously have a TF3 movie Leader-class figure, and Silverbolt will be in TF3 as well. Barricade and Brawl were represented well within the TF1 movie. Breakdown (Brakedown) was a good scout class recently. Ironhide, Jetfire, Ratchet, Warpath, Onslaught, and the Seekers all have been represented lately in the Classics line. And although I do agree with a previous poster that by making a Starscream toy, you could redeco it into Skywarp and Thundercracker, and that this would be a good marketing strategy, I hunger for something more and unique.

Slipstream is an interesting character but not iconic enough to warrant a toy, but then again, the new Drift toy proves that theory moot. Demolisher is obscure and non-G1, so I think the mojo would be lost on him. As much as I would love to see WFC Arcee made into a toy, as her design is great, her being an unlockable character only playable in online kind of dilutes her importance in the universe. Besides, her Animated mold is still selling well. Scattorshot is interesting in aesthetic design but still not easily recognizable. This finally brings me to my vote: Air Raid.

Now I remember that Air Raid was the name of a TF1 movie scout class jet, but that doesn't count. How often do we get gutsy, intelligent, self-sacrificing, and really cool-looking aerial autobot toys... from within genuine G1 continuity? I loved Air Raid's character in WFC and I think he would go great with the toyline. I abhor the decision to make Cliffjumper into a toy, even though it seems natural with the Bumblebee toy out. Cliffjumper wasn't even playable! When I have a toy from the movie or whatever, I want it to connect me back to those moments. A Cliffjumper WFC toy would in no way do that for PS3 players. Air Raid would remind us of the euphoric, jaw-dropping rush when we would hover or fly into an enemy zone, strafe and then rush to transform and bludgeon decepticons to slag. His color scheme, attitude, personality, and aesthetic design in both robot and alternate mode would definitely make Air Raid a must have for any fan of WFC and for anyone looking for a cool Transformers figure within the Generations line to boot.

My vote is for Sideswipe. He's got a really sleek design and since nobody listed or mentioned him yet, he needs a vote. Besides, he's got the attitude too. Damn he's good!
