Bop It Optimus Prime is out at Walmarts in the US and Jon Bailey has made a video showing us what this cute little bot/game entails. He has voiced Optimus Prime many times and lends his voice to the autobot leader once again with this Bop It toy.

USA! USA! While the US is rarely first to receive new figures, the Transformers One toys are being distributed there earlier. The street date is August 1st, to have these on the shelf in time for the film coming out a month later, but Meijer broke the street date and are selling both the COG changers (one steps) and Prime changers (deluxes). The case distributions are not standard with different assortments being shipped to different retailers. This particular assortment of Prime changers just included Optimus and Alpha Trion.
The other Prime changer toys are also being released from certain online outlets in different territories. So we now have a lot of in hand images of Sentinel, Optimus, Bee and Alpha Trion courtesy of Shaddowtoa, Devil Prime, ambitron and RATCHET 208.
As a fun extra, these toys are the same toys featured in Takara's "stop motion" music video for the theme song of the Japense version of Transformers One.

For those unaware, a new product has been gaining in popularity among Transformers fans and they are the licensed Blokees model kits. Blokees are licensed Transformers themed model kits. The pieces are on sprue trees and must be detached and then put together to create a poseable non transforming figure. They are in blind boxes and can be purchased on Ali Express but they are also available on the Blokees site: https://blokees.com/
While there are already many series out (the part sharing and standardized design make these far quicker to design and produce), we now know of 2 more: Shining Series 2 and Transformers One. For Transformers One, all we have is a grainy image, we can't even make them all out (is that first one Wheeljack?) but for Shining Series 2, we have official images showing G1 Optimus Prime, G1 Grimlock, G1 Sideswipe, G1 Beachcomber, G1 Soundwave, G1 Sunstorm, and the chase figure being "Optimus Prime Secret". These have LED lights, hence the name of the series.
If you want to know more about them, we have a review below explaining what these are and how big they are along with a review of the entirety of wave 2.

Another figure we got our first look at during the Shizuoka Hobby Show recently was the extensive repaint of MPM-3 Bumblebee for the new 40th Selection imprint, abbreviated as TF40A (Transformers 40th Anniversary) for reasons only Takara Tomy could answer. TF40A Bumblebee doesn't appear to have any physical modifications but has fixed any and all color issues that the original had. The yellow is darker, the metallics are brighter and the painted details are more accurate. If you have the original MPM-3 you already know what you're getting into, but if you missed out on the previous releases and have any interest this will be the one to get. Since this new release "technically" isn't being sold as an MPM it probably wont be sold at Target.
He'll be released in March 2025 and IS available on Amazon Japan right now! He's currently only about $104 after shipping to the USA there and that's before they've worked their discount magic so he should cost considerably less by release thanks to their "pre-order price guarantee".
And as a reminder, our next figure in the line will be TF40A Lio Convoy!
Ready to part with your MPM-3 or add a new figure to your Bumblebee army, or maybe take the plunge into MPMs? Let us know in the Seibertron Energon Pub!

Back in April we got our first look at Japan's Bingo Sports Optimus Prime collaboration with no real release details. It was speculated that it would likely be some sort of exclusive, but for those interested the good news is that it will be sold at mass retail in Japan! The extensive retool of Studio Series Crosshairs is now available for preorder in most Japanese online stores (not currently at Amazon Japan) with release in December 2024. He's priced at 6,600JPY or around $41USD, but will be cheaper in stores. The figure includes a removable spoiler and a new gun as well as Crosshairs' guns.
It's hard to say if something this specific will be sold by Hasbro Pulse but for the right fan it could be worth importing. Are you that fan? Let us know in the Seibertron Energon Pub forums!

Back at the Shizuoka Hobby Show a few months ago the Transformers figure that seemed to get the most attention was Takara Tomy's new transforming Adamas Machina AMT-01 Rodimus based on Flame Toys' design from the Kuro Kara Kuri line (which itself is built up from his design from the IDW comics) under their new T-Spark banner. Despite being a high end figure based on an official third party design it's proving to be rather affordable. Early speculation placed the figure over $300 considering the figure it's based on sold for over $400 (but also came with a bunch of extra "Rodimus Prime" parts and working lights), but as a first party figure AMT-01 is available for as low as $153 USD and could go lower if/when Amazon Japan starts taking orders placing it within the same range as Masterpiece.
As mentioned previously, this figure is fully transformable as well as heavily detailed, meticulously painted, well articulated and armed to the teeth. Whether or not this will all add up to an actual fun figure to play with is yet to be seen but it'll at least look good in both modes on a shelf. He includes two guns that can be combined into a rifle, a buzzsaw and a communicator which wasn't part of the Flame Toys figure. The figure stands roughly the same size as the Flame Toys release, about 9 inches to the wing tips. He'll be released in February 2025 which is already pretty stacked for Transformers releases.
And don't forget, AMT-02 is going to be Predaking. Let's see if they can keep that one under $1,000USD.
Will you be picking up an IDW, by way of Flame Toys, by way of Takara Tomy, AMT-01 Rodimus or is the price still a little too rich for you? Let us know in the Seibertron Energon Pub forums!

If you were hoping for God Bomber to be announced soon in the MPG line to accompany God Ginrai, well, the wait continues. Takara Tomy is really front loading 2025 with a heavy amount of repaints in the MPG line by adding a mass retail MPG-12 Shattered Glass Optimus Prime and Takara Tomy Mall exclusive MPG-13 Shattered Glass Jetfire. What's particularly interesting about MPG-13 is Takara Tomy bucking their own trend of not using in-line numbers for exclusives where they previously added letters and whatnot to indicate them. Perhaps we're finally done with the messy numbering system that gave us numbering gems like MP-52+SW Skywarp and MP-53+B Dia Burnout.
As for the figure themselves, they're basically what you'd expect. MPG-12 is a purple Optimus Prime based on the MP-44S toy colors package, just swapping out the normal alternate head with the battle damaged head that came with the original MP-44 3.0 figure. MPG-13 Jetfire appears to be a straight repaint of MP-57 Jetfire, but lacks the flight stand, mini figures and face mask of the original release.
MPG-12 has a suggested price of 33,000 JPY (but will be available much cheaper in most places) and will be out in March 2025. MPG-13 is priced at 39,600 JPY, and as an exclusive that price will not change, and is ALSO being released in March 2025. However, both will likely be available on Hasbro Pulse in the coming days. Keep in mind this is one month after MPG-10 Lift Ticket and MPG-11 Guard are released in February. I guess the evil Autobots of Shattered Glass are just as happy to slay our wallets as they are Decepticons!
How do you feel about these new releases and will they decimate your budgets or be easy passes? Let us know in the Seibertron Energon Pub forums!

Many fans are waiting to see what this year's Studio Series commander class Optimus Prime will look like. It is supposed to be the most G1 cartoon accurate Prime we've ever gotten in the generations line. And a photo of an Optimus Prime figure playing the piano may be our very first look at it. It surfaced on Baidu and since then has been deleted. While we do not get the whole package, we see the base figure of Optimus, which is supposed to be the same size as commander Rodimus Prime. It indeed looks very G1 accurate, with the white pelvis and thighs. The more accurate chest does mean that there is a lot of kibble to hide and it ends up on his back, though we do not know if the back section is properly transformed or not.

We finally have a look at the upcoming Mayhem 2 pack of Bludgeon and Ruckus and it's a doozy. Bludgeonsports a yellow and green deco and has a new headsculpt and chest piece, based on his early IDW form seen in the Storm Bringer comic. So now you can create a before and after of that comic which ends in Bludgeon getting his more typical look. If you are wondering about the headsculpt, he has no lower jaw, so you are seeing the wiring behind his "skull".
Ruckus is rather interesting. While he is a very faithful representation to the G1 toy, using the Beachcomber mold, some of his detailing is precisely based on our very own gallery of him on Seibertron.
You see, the example in our gallery has misplaced stickers. The stickers meant for the hips are placed on his forearms. And it was that picture that was cropped and used by TFwiki for the past 4 years, which is where Hasbro often uses as a source. And now, we have this innacurate sticker placement recreated on the new Ruckus toy. You can see those referential images and gallery below.

We have in hand images of the upcoming SDCC exclusive 2 pack featuring IDW inspired Orion Pax and Gladiator Megatron. The most telling of these images are the comparisons. While Orion Pax is a retool of the SS GE WFC Optimus Prime mold, it is significantly bigger. Not only that, but he doesnt have that gapping hole in his backside. While we can see the similarities to the original mold, these pictures show just how extensive the retooling is.
Unlike other sets, this isn't one where you can wait for a discount, as it will sell out quickly due to its limited nature. Will you be getting it?

Transformers Masterpiece Beast Wars Rhinox is currently being received by fans who preordered him from Amazon Japan, thanks to that lighting fast vcr shipping. Below is a video review. It shows all that he comes with, along with size comparisons to the other MP maximals. It also goes through the rather complex transformation. It also goes over some of the criticisms of this figure like the botched attempt at light piping.

This is the 10 year anniversary of Windblade and yet not so fun fact: there is still no great Windblade toy. They range from seriously flawed to ok. But that doesn't mean we can't rank them. Believe it or not, while this character was introduced to the Transformers brand only 10 years ago, she' has gotten enough toys for the list and has as many toys as legacy G1 characters like Sunstreaker. So let's get to it!
Top 5 Best Windblade Transformers Toys
5. Cyberverse warrior Windblade
While there are more than 5 Windblade figures out there (and many more when you count redecos), there are only 4 molds ever made in what we could call a "deluxe class" for all age fans. So for my 5th entry, I have the warrior mold from Cyberverse, which is exclusively aimed at a younger audience. While it feels cheaper than your standard deluxe it is also priced less, a lot less was sacrificed with this figure than probably any other warrior class figure from this line (except Shockwave, probably). Hasbro eventually found their groove with the warrior/sub deluxe class in Earthspark, but it was a rough start with Cyberverse, with contenders for the all time worst list like Optimus Prime. Windblade was fine though. Even the gimmick didn't feel as intrusive, and it didn't remove articulation from any of her limbs. I recommended this toy to parents then and would still do so now. Plus it has one of the better jet modes due to it looking more cohesive and less gappy than other versions.
Here's the one that started it all. And while it is a very striking design, this is a design that works better as an image than a toy to put on your shelf. Because the stability is a major issue. Not only is is very top heavy, but the heels just don't give enough support, plus they tend to come off the toy. The head is also soemthing that was refined later, since the more elongated look make it look like a Geisha only HR Geiger would love. It is also a true pain to transform with panels and tabs not fitting well. Basically, the only good thing here is the design.
3. Legacy United deluxe Cyberverse Windblade
It's the most recent one and honestly, I don't have much to say about it. It's an improvement over the previous Cyberverse Windblade we got, but it doesn't really resemble the "cyberverse" take more than others since it doesn't go with exagerated proportions, like the giant turbines or larger eyes. So you basically get another "G1" meat and potatoes Windblade, but this time more red than black. The Transformation is very similar to previous figures with Hasbro still choosing to just let the arms stay at her side, unhidden, in vehicle mode. Not a bad toy and not a bad Windblade figure, but with this being their 5th take on a known design it's too bad that there seems to be nothing new or interesting being done to improve upon past figures aside from articulation.
2. Adventures TAV 55 Windblade
This mold gets A LOT right which other Windblade toys fail at. I really like the legs, which do give the idea of long boots, and the alt mode doesn't have a gap. It feels more complete and fully realized as a concept of Windblade than all her other toys. However, since it must hide a rather large headsculpt, the alt mode nosecone is large, making the alt mode far more cute than sleek and resulting in a giant kibble hole behind her head. The toy also misses the mark with the wings, by making the turbines look smaller than they should by comparison. The Takara TAV 55 deco is much better than the Hasbro one, since you get the blue highlights on her head along with more black on the body, making her look sleeker, and red paint on her legs that better match the very bold red plastic. And for fans of odd redecos, there is a grey version to make her match Fortress Maximus, going with the theme of her being a city speaker, and another more ninja/stealth themed redeco with a different headsculpt.
Does this toy have flaws that some would find incorrigable? Yes. Can it still be deemed the best Windblade toy? For sure, I'm doing just that. When looking at all the pros and cons, this toy ends up on top for me. We get a sleek body, especially the legs, while not sacrificing any stability. While she is a headmaster, which is a dealbreaker for some, this does let the jet mode be sleeker in the front. Plus it adds a whole level of playability. And for my money, this one has the very best face, which is key to a Windblade figure. I love the subtly metallic highlights framing her porcelain face and I really like the the take on the red eye makeup, which is the closest we've gotten to Sarah Stone's take on the character (which I personally find to be the most iconic looking). It helps make her headsculpt look more like an actual face than a robot wearing a Kabuki mask.
And best of all, this one gets the wings closest to what I'd like with a very angular look and giant turbines, plus a nice mix of black and red. It is to me the most well rounded of all Windblade figures and if I were to just keep one, this would be it.
Honourable Mention: While I tend not to cover licensed figures on this list, a "top" Windblade list would really be lacking if I didn't mention the model kit. Windblade has a very sleek and slight physique, making it hard to design an accurate transforming figure. Well this one does not transform. It's too bad that the details on the head rely on stickers needing a certain level of dexterity and minutia since those details are important to a Windblade figure.
