WarPorn Industries and the RDD proudly present
The Campaign for Cybertron
SEASON 2: Extinction!
HMW BITES BACK!
Round 4.1: Once more unto the breach, once more!!
I hope you've packed your lucky rocketship underpants, you're gonna need 'em!The Darkest Timeline
Darkness enshrouds you as you step into the shimmering portal led by Sparkstalker and Grotusque. Behind you is the vast silent chamber dominated by the shattered throne, it's remains crunching under your feet as you stride purposefully through the Throne room.
Iridescent tendrils of blacks, purples and greens, reminiscent of unrefined energon but tainted, engulf you one by one as you twist in agony, stretched simultaneously over two realities as you are torn across the threshold towards the Dead Universe, somewhere you will never arrive.
Without warning, a piercing light blinds your optics and your internal components feel a agonising lurch as you are dragged off course, the ethereal tunnel you slide along now showing a vast black tear edged with an flickering orange light, sharp and shimmering. It is towards this that you now descend with a sense of foreboding that none of you have ever experienced before, falling for what feels like milennia and interrupted abruptly by sudden, infinite darkness, and then nothing.
● ● ●
You have no idea how long you have been out, your power reserves still reading as full as slowly you and your team come back online undamaged, if only physically. The first thing you notice is the cold, but there is no ice. Thermal readouts show nothing, everything is as black as the vacuum of space, and the landscape is eerily familiar yet utterly alien. This is not the Cybertron you left behind, even if you can see the spires of long-familiar landmarks in the distance, it has a dark aura to it and a feeling of forbidding dread washes over you.
This is the Dead Space, a dimension between dimensions.
As this dark new world comes into focus you see your target for the first time, a central citadel dwarfing even the majesty of Tagan Heights unfolds into the sky, its crown disappearing into the heavens, and its vast base effortlessly engulfing the tri-city region of Vos, Tarn and Polyhex. The Reavers have made good use of their incarceration.
Surrounding the citadel are hundreds of statues you recognise - allies and enemies you fight alongside daily but these are weathered, battered, broken and silent. They send a chill down your spine, they have learned much from Prowl and Starscream, this will not be a simple snatch-and-grab.
Your two leaders are nowhere to be seen, so you set up an impromptu outpost near where you landed, wondering if the portal will still be there when you return, and strike out for your target as those you thought were statues slowly light up, return to life, and begin to move in your direction as you realise that this portal isn't one way, and your coming here may have put your Cybertron in even more danger...
So now the game begins.
You have prepared your teams and each member has a specific objective. Complete these and get back to the checkpoint, and just hope they can bring you home.
Every warrior you see in a mission acts and sounds the same as those you knew on your world, but they all have a faint glow to them that is both ethereal and horrifying. Despite their looks these are not your allies or your usual enemies, and whilst they endless replay the great war for their masters entertainment you must focus on your mission, as the world as you know it is at stake…
Details of the rewards for this mission are hidden in the mission brief, anyone want to make a guess?
Your objectives begin as of mission # 166500, and you are no longer allowed to reset any of your 5 chosen characters until the hunt is done.
EVERYBODY MUST FINISH FOR THIS ROUND TO BE DECLARED A VICTORY.
Good luck!
Now tune into your faction forums for the rest of the tournament, to be released just as this round begins!
And anyone that gets the 'Community' reference and posts photoshops of their characters accordingly wins a special prize!
