Well, that's basically what will happen. :/
Still, Ebay will be so flooded with these, the prices will drop back to normal retail levels and /or the basterds will be stuck with massive overstock.

... although the closest Dollar Tree to me is just out of convenience range. I can get there, but I really don't want to go out of my way if the store doesn't even have them. Besides, I already have the ones I really wanted anyways.

I never have been very interested in visiting Dollar Tree, but this is making me wanna check my local D.T. out for Transformer deals!

DT normally isn't worth looking into at all because they're the honest dollar store, where everything actually is $1.00. The only interesting TF KOs they ever had were of Cybertron Legends, including Brimstone who I'm not sure got the official treatment. Their only other item of possible interest to our fandom is some "T-BOTS" coloring books, featuring many robots that look vaguely familiar, including a yellow Tracks-ish fellow on the cover.
Some of their stuff doesn't get distributed evenly though. The store on Warren just west of Westland mall had a toyline called "S.T.O.P. vs. S.C.U.M." that I've never seen elsewhere, not even at other Dollar Trees. A cross between G.I.Joe and Mad Max, they all sold out fast except for Lady Lead about 5 years ago. I'll have to stop by and see if she's still pegwarming.
Man, this and yesterday's Vehicon news just keeps giving me renewed hope that Arcee and Chromia might still show up at TJMarshaxx or Tuesday Morning, cheap enough for me to stockpile enough Arcees for all the customs I've wanted to do! Marvel, Blurr prototype colors...

Just on a side note, who came up with the expression, "pegwarming", something about that sounds dirty.

I don't think this one is any indication of distribution issues, since Kreo is dead and done in the US market for now. That's not to say there aren't any, I just don't think this is an example of it due to that factor.
I'm surprised these showed at all! Thought the ship sailed on them months ago in regards to showing up at discount. Happy for those that missed out though, that's for sure.

Kreons retail at $3 a pop, and having no other choice but to import this particular wave was... obviously a lot more. So seeing these for just a buck is pretty amazing. Like "grab the entire box, slam a $20 on the counter, and giddily skip back home" amazing. Wouldn't even care about the lack of codes for that price.

I don't really know one way or the other...I just remember these were due out a long time ago and have been available in other countries for quite a while (I have about for figures from this wave that were sent from Canada). I was just figuring they were supposed to hit the shelves of TRU before the kre-o meltdown happened, but got gummed up somewhere...and then went straight to the liquidators.

To be fair, my post said "Lady-Lead" was pegwarming, which I only now realize has an onion's-worth of layers of wrong in it. I mean, I know lead-poisoning contributed to the fall of the Roman Empire, but maybe it wasn't just from the pipes their drinking water came through...SillySpringer wrote:Moosey wrote:SillySpringer wrote:Wolfman Jake wrote:Thanks, Silly. ...um, right, AofE toys! I still didn't check out my Dollar Trees today, but some repackaged Kreo Cityville sets showed up in Dollar General last month, so the line still has a little life left.

Lol you actually agree that it sounded real wrong! XD
But yeah, I am more into Lego than Kre-o, Lego has been around longer, so the pieces fit together better.

A cashier at the Warren Road store said he knew what Kreons I was talking about, and that they'd be on the next truck in about a week, so hopefully that bodes well for other DTs carrying them if we're patient.
Anyone else canvassing Dollar Trees developing a problem impulse buying cheap junk food? Maybe I'm just upset that Lady Lead seems to finally be gone for good.
Okay, it's no loss, since the whole S.T.O.P. toyline was cheap and fugly...but I should've gotten one figure just for the compelling packaging backstory.
Oh, and they did have a Transformers/Angry Birds activity book, so the Kreons aren't the only official TF product they're carrying. No AofE stuff though.

Thank you for the information!
One store also had a TF:Prime lolly pop, like the big flat carnival kind

Not so whoooo! half of my buys ended up being doubles.
And neither Octane has a "left" wing.
If anyone wants to trade I'm open.
On TFW's Kreo thread it sounds like this is mostly an East Coast thing.

Stinger & Leader OP.
I have Armor Knight Prime (who is suh-weet), but I'd pay $20 (more likely $25 in the States) for a Prime to stick in vehicle mode.

Construct-bots are the only thing TJ Maxx and Burlington Coat Factory seem to carry in my area these days. Outside of the rare and welcome Brainstorms I stumbled on a month ago, that is.

Huh. Well I be darned. Yea, it should be cheaper. Hopefully that's the reality, though the Generations voyagers were 17.99 here, so I can't see a Leader figure being much cheaper than that.

Yeah, the C-Bots Smoke'n'Shock wave showed up in SE Michigan TJMaxx and Marshall's (and Tuesday Morning for that matter) almost a year ago, leaving me a bit confused about just what this bodes for blowout stores in my neck of the continent. They've had Dino Sparkers, Power Attackers, and that Bee/Strafe Masher for months now, with C-Bots Slash and Scorn being the only VHTF AofE items.megatronus wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:Fawk me for having bought the original AOE Leader OP for 60$+tx at TrU.

Burlington Coat Factory you say? Never thought of that; 3 more stores for me to canvas tomorrow. Though after that time in 2000 I found Machine Wars Optimus in a Save-a-Lot Food Store for $10.00, I'm not surprised to find TFs for sale literally anywhere.
