Good shit.
Heh, who'd have thought we'd get Double Punch? Probably means that the mold is in use and a "Generations" Scorponok in G1 colors is finally coming.

can anyone tell if he has the normal crane scorpion tail or the dark scorponok tail with the cyberkey gimmick ?

Everybody is talking about Double Punch and Slicer...
GREAT! I agree!
But...
The theme is G2 and both of them are G1.
So... my question is: will there be classics as well as G2 and S(hattered)G(lass) or, pray tell, are these two not Double Punch and Slicer but simple SG Wheeljack and SG Scorponok?
Think about it...

You know who else isn't G2 for this years figures? Nearly all of them. I don't care what generation or universe they fit into. I'm getting two of each if they fit two universes. That's me though.

The regular tail, the long orange cockpit is a giveaway.

For the sake of simplicity, some European-exclusive G1 figures get thrown into G2 by some fans, especially when they have the bright neon coloring G2 is known/notorious for. And they *are* Slicer and Double Punch. As SG Fortress Maximus had G1 Scorponok's colors in fiction, it's safe to assume the reverse is true for SG Scorponok.
If you want to be nitpicky:
Breakdown: G2 deco
Clench: EU exclusive G1 into G2, G1 name
Streetstar (Streetwise): G2 deco
Spark: EU exclusive G1 into G2, G2 name
Sky-Byte: Robots in Disguise
Slicer: G1 EU exclusive
Rapido: G1 into G2
Scorch: G1 EU exclusive
Double Punch: G1 EU exclusive
"BWX Megatron repaint": ???
Sharkticon: G1
Mind you, the Souvenir set do not necessarily follow the main theme. If anything, it's "anything released between when the first US line ended and Beast Wars"

I really wanted to see Classics Sideswipe repainted in G2 colors.
Posted by videriant on June 21st, 2010 @ 3:29pm CDT
SG Wheeljack / Slicer
SG Scorponok / Double Punch
SG Ravage / Glit
Since we're most likely getting three souvenir sets this year no-one should complain if one of them doesn't fit the theme whereas this year it looks like the third set fits two themes.

videriant wrote:There's no requirement that SG is a colorswap. SG Optimus and SG Megatron didn't color swap. SG Grimlock is Trypticon colors. Botcon probably did this so that figures can double as both SG and G2 Redux figures.
You're forgetting one thing: in SG the faction symbols have their colors switched: Autobot is purple and Decepticon is red. Until we see the robot modes with the faction symbols I'm sticking with my theory. Ravage is confirmed to be SG btw: red 'Con symbol.

Yup, that's Energon Downshift
Casscis Sideswipe/ Sunstreaker mold is repainted into G2 colors for the Botcon set. G2 Breakdown to be exact.
Though it would be ice to see a black Sideswipe some time.

wheeljack went thru a PORTAL! to where??? uh oh...
guess we should go tell Galvatron?????????????
Seeing we know that SGRavage is being released, it would make sence that he is following Wheeljack to where this years storyline takes place.
