BattleTrap should have been a main line release, as a Voyager case-filler when the movie comes out next year so new molds aren't swamped under the inevitable movie-verse tsunami.

I also bet that cybertron Sideways will be the bounty hunter. He would fit in because he is a dimensional traveler, and I can picture him being a bounty hunter.

Scalpel from the mantis Micron in white won't ever stop being a great idea.
I love the face on Megatron. I'm glad that his head didn't end up too small on that body too.

Right now they'r banking most everything in the box set on oilmaster, a double pretender with two robots inside a shell. Outside of that, I suspect the pollybag sets are going to where it it's at.

I can agree with you there battle trap should have been released as a main line figure but we might be lucky and get a main line release with some remolded parts later on like they did with the seekers and coneheads. But that is a big hopefully though.

Sooo, Breakdown?

This isn't the "top Scorponok" figure. The next one is.Rated X wrote:Im actually shocked people are liking this. Slap a Megatron head on any old body just for the sake of having a team leader in the set. Wss there really no past character that actually resembles the Breakdown mold that could have been homaged ? I dont see how this set is supposed to top Scorponok...

If it's what the rumor says, only really a big deal if it's literally the unproduced mold brought to reality. Anything else may very well be fun and creative, but not "oh damn, that just happened" status.

Yeah, as much as they hyped up there being something "better than Scorponok" this year, I can only rationalize whatever it is that it's gonna be "better" in terms of it being something more expensive, ambitious, advanced, or complex than what was done to make Scorponok, rather than it being something that most fans would legitimately prefer over Scorponok.ScottyP wrote:Sabrblade wrote:This isn't the "top Scorponok" figure. For that matter, Pete, will there still be a little Silas molded inside the chest of that mold?

If it's this Oil character, I will literally be put to sleep... the only way to top Scorponok is to repaint that mold into a slavish BW Scorponok with a new head.

It's the gorilla, not the far superior bandito spider

It's just not Megatron.

I'm expecting Universe 2 Primal again. And you know what? I'm okay with that.

Well, it they use an old Beast Wars/Machines mold I will retract my statement G1 just does nothing for me, especially when I was hoping this set would be Beast Wars: Uprising and TransTech

I dunno what they can put in that little purple egg that would top scorponok or even devcon.

I picked up on that too. If Roddy isn't #5, I'd be very surprised if he weren't an attendee or something.Sabrblade wrote:Since he's mentioned in Megatron's bio, I wonder if we might get the counterpart Rodimus Prime of this Megatron as a souvenir figure to go with him.

While true, I would say the Kre-O set is different in that it is recognizably Megatron through the color scheme rather than the helmet cues. I would like this figure a whole lot better as Megatron if it had a more G1-esque deco... as it is, it's not quite there.

If they do Rodimus Prime, Guessing it will be a Souvenir add on botcon 2015 toy. Just don't see any bigger toys released from a few years ago. That would fit the Rodimus Prime character.

Though they couldn't do it this year, it would be cool if they were to use the Combiner Wars Hot Spot mold to finally give us some toy version of New Rodimus:Tsutsukakushi wrote:shajaki wrote:I picked up on that too. Maybe they'll use the CHUG Voyager Inferno toy.

Why would anyone want to buy the botcon version. When the 2011 DOTM toy looks more like the movie character. and is probably still $25 on ebay.
