Many reports have come in about the new Transformers Animated Deluxe Optimus Prime showing up on eBay. Power seller etoyshunter has been kind enough to post an auction for "Cybertron Mode" Optimus Prime. As we reported last week, the closer the new show gets, the more and more figures we'll see on internet auction sites. Before you know it, we'll be seeing Blitzwing and the Dinobots.

A large axe that has to be weilded two-handed I would assume, unlike some battle-axes that are smaller & can be weilded with one...something just a tad larger than a hatchet.ThunderZap wrote:what exactly is double handed axe? or should it be double headed axe?
Anyway, I would honestly have to say aside from movie protoform Prime, this has to be the worst alt mode he has ever had....I dunno if its the large single window or the fact that it looks like the cab was squished from the front & back, but it's just asthetically bad. Surely alien robots have some sense of taste....or perhaps retaliating from being made fun of is why he got dropped from the academy....
"Hey look, here comes the short bus....oh wait, it's just Optimus."
Also about Prime....why a noob? The noob's ascention to power angle's been done with Primal, & IIRC there was about 5 seasons of that between BW & BM. So so far we've got 2 seasons of G1 as a full-fledged leader(since he dies in the movie & only had guest appearences after that), 5 of up-&-comer, 3 of the Japanese style of "hey, look what this toy can do...oh yeah, he fights bad guys while doing super-poses, too." Why not let him be the battle-hardened unstoppable juggernaught champion with a heart of gold he ws in G1 again for awhile. I mean gee, it hasn't been done in what...20 years? In video format anyways.
Eh, I just want to see the true Prime personality in action.....& not have to go back & see the same 30-50 episodes he was in in G1 over & over to see it, either. That's kinda like missing your best friend & being told to go back & watch old movies of you interacting instead of actually meeting up with him to catch up.
.......I'll get off my soapbox now.......
edit, I just noticed after looking at the pics again, his axe is like single-handed one he has in the picture....it just extends & the blade splits & half swings around to make the larger battle axe.

Deluxe sucks for Prime.
And I wonder what his Earth mode will look like.
Can someone shed some light on it?
Thanks,
Dan

Boy, I wonder what that's all about.
And you know, how come Hasbro never bothered with Cybertronian modes for the G1 line? There's clearly a lot of potential for new toys there.
then it says in his "galactic powers and abilities" that he was trained at the autobot academy
and in G1 they only had one mode

I agree. I long for the days of the 80s packaging. Or the packaging from the JPN released toys with all that lovely styrofoam. That keeps the box from creasing and you can very easily redisplay the item.

Just look a few posts above yours.
Someone posted the prototype pics that were at bot-con/comic-con
Although I don't think the voyeger prime will be in wave 1.

I like the Cybertron alt mode. It is very new, while it does not really suggest a function, it does have room for a trailer to be attached, so he could be a manual laborer.
I like it.

So... probably going to end up with this one too. I'm liking the Animated figures so far. They look friendly.

Well, IIRC these TFs are supposed to be more akin to superheores than soldiers, so while military stuff would be classified by technical specifications such as weight, measurments, & ammunition load, rate of fire, etc.... superheroes are usually classified simply by what super powers they have.Silent_Magnus wrote:thedistinctroom wrote:I've noticed that there arn't any tech specs for these Animated figures.

Tech Specs are the list of numbers on a back card of the Transformers, from 1 to 10, on their Strength, Intelligence, Speed, Endurance, etc. MOST Transformers have them. He means so far all Animated toys seem to lack these.

Yes, I am quite aware of what Transformer tech specs are, having a collection of over 600 of them. My point was these are not meant to be soldiers, therefore they aren't catorogized in the same manner as other TFs but rather like superheroes, who are catorogized by special abilities alone, so their ability list is their tech specs.Scaleface wrote:Nemesis Cyberplex wrote:Well, IIRC these TFs are supposed to be more akin to superheores than soldiers, so while military stuff would be classified by technical specifications such as weight, measurments, & ammunition load, rate of fire, etc.... superheroes are usually classified simply by what super powers they have.Silent_Magnus wrote:thedistinctroom wrote:I've noticed that there arn't any tech specs for these Animated figures.

And that, right there folks, is why Animated's toy line is a good thing. They're going back to the core audience with it and it's designed for them. Because of that, I can't count this as loss, but as a chance to take a break from having to buy figures for a while.
It's about time TFs went back to the kids.
Oh and adopted nephew? Your sister friggin' rocks man. She's a hero.

I also kinda doubt this will be the last cartoon line from TF's. I bet we see other series down the road where the figures are not as child like. That just means it gives the people who don't like this line...the chance to keep building on the collectiona they still need to finish off, weather it be G1, TFTM, RID or what ever line people like to collect the most.

Since when? Ever played ay hero RPG? Marvel Super Heroes, Gurps Supers, Champions, Superbabes? Pleanty of stats in those
My take on their lack of tech spec numbers is this line of toon-town-transformers is aimed at 8 year olds, and the people at Hasbro think pretty color pictures are worth more than boring numbers to the kiddies.

First I disliked the heads, but Prime's okay. He doesn't look like one of the strongest bots (which cybertron prime dit with it's big cannons).
I think almost any TF fan is going to like 'm half a year after the show airs and the bots hit the shelves.
Starscream, Prime and Megatron are my favorites so far
