Big thanks to Stan Bush for this.
I actually bought the import version of the album when it was released and it doesn't include these two tracks, so this is awesome. Thanks for making these other tracks available to those who bought the earlier version.

The other new song is pretty good too. I might just get his new album to support the guy, I feel like it's my duty.

Not bad at all. I enjoyed it.
THANKS STAN!!!
PS, I wouldn't mind an update on Dare either

That's because most professional rock singers scream into a mic for too many years. It really tears up your voice.I'm really digging the new version of The Touch, Stan's voice has really aged well, and that doesn't always happen with singers.

Most songs are a collection of cliches...either that or about sex...only person I've ever heard not use cliches in his music is Peter Gabriel, but half the time I have no idea what he's singing about anyways..

I prefer the original "Touch" better. The keyboards seem off and more corny on this one. Has anyone else noticed that "The Touch" is one giant collection of clichés? I like the song, don't get me wrong, but I feel like it's more of a guilty pleasure that I wouldn't ever admit to in certain circles, like any that exist outside of TransFandom.
ME: Heh...
When I first met my girlfriend 3 years ago, she asked me to play he some music I like... and she's into "serious" music like jazz and all that other stuff - basically no ass rock - hates it... but I think she was "touched" by the fact that I like The Touch...
Anyways - point is - I love ass rock - including Stan Bush - and have no compunctions about pushing it on my friends, relatives, girlfriend and everybody else who basically think I'm insane for it

Lets hope this gets on the TF2 soundtrack. His voice doesnt sound as strong anymore, but he still has a great voice.

I listened to that radio interview they had with him a few days ago, & Stan said it was politics & had to do with a deal with Warner Bros music & them just slapping a bunch of their popular artists & stuff on the soundtrack, but supposedly it was supposed to be in the movie(like BB playing a snipit through his radio or something) even though it got cut out for some reason. It might be in a deleted scene or something. Guess we'll find out when the DVD comes out.Sonray wrote:At first when the song opened it sounded a bit....well lame...i much preffered the original but as soon as it started proper with the beat and guitar riffs it got better! I love it! WHY ISNT THIS IN THE MOVIE! DAMN YOU DREAMWORKS!

At this point i am almost anticipating the dvd release more than the actual movie release as it isnt out here yet. Imagine all the cool bonus content the dvd will have, all those featurettes about how they did the cgi and stunts and stuff, not to mention the ability to watch the movie 10 times a day without having to go to a cinema and pay!

You do realise the song is a fanboy's ode to how amazingly wonderful and splendiferous Optimus Prime is, don't you?

I think that's what it wants to be.

wants? The song is over 20 years old now, it doesnt want to be anything, it just is.

Annnnnd that was you missing the point.
Maybe what the song was meant to be was "about the best in people". What it actually is, however, is an ode to Optimus Superpants.

I like the song though, so do many others as its a part of their childhood and as cheesy as it is it makes some of us feel better when we hear it. So watch your step if you are going to bash it because you could have a big flame war on your hands if you do.

Oh dear god, you really don't get it, do you?
At what point did I bash the song? I love that song! I love that it's a fanboy's homage to the sheer levels of awesomeness that is Optimus Prime and his giant metal hands!
And you know what? I love Dare too. I love that it's the quintessential Hot Rod song. But hey, if you're really keen on having a big ol' flame war I'm sure I could at least pretend I don't like it?
