Last year there was a Toys'R'Us two pack that was a rather uninteresting shelfwarmer, the Masters of Metallikato set. Third party HeadRobots have decided that both Whirl and Bludgeon need some pimping out. They're releasing upgrades for the set, 'Gyro' for Whirl, and 'Blood' for Bludgeon. As you are about to see, HeadRobots is trying to turn Whirl into Generation One Whirl, and Bludgeon into Generation One Bludgeon. Check out the concepts below.

Makes you wonder if TRU didn't commission these suckers under the table...

I don't think these are headmasters, I think they are just new heads. The G1 whirl and bludgeon were not headmasters.

Maybe it'll have a stand so you can put the unused head on display, like Megatron did TFG2#6!
And since the Voyager Bludgeon was mentioned, is there some trick to getting the big sword into his hand without scratching the handle/barrel up? I'd like to be able to do that more than give him an upgrade.

i know. bludgeon was a pretender. whirl i'm not so familiar with, though. (but there's a link to pics, so i had a look.)
should have had a look the intended figures to begin with. those heads are a bit small to be headmaster heads... (frankly, i'm not even sure how whirl's gonna work...) bummer, because these would be interesting heads if they could have went that route.

I ask this because of the link to the MoM set and the image of voyager bludgeon next to the image of the blood headmaster...

This is for Deluxe Bludgeon. That image next to he heads is not Voyager Blud, you can see the wheels which signal the Wreckage repaint.

the head is for the deluxe version the reason there is 2 figres is that if i remember correctly the armoured transport bludgeon had a fight with whirl and got badly injured so they rebuilt him as the tank bludgeon but i atually bought that set yesterday in my local toys r us in the ukfr 9.99 which i thought was a bargain i really like the bludgeon from the set i havent got the other one i hope to get it soon though

It has a decent discount at TRU online at the moment. $24.99 + free shipping. Add-n Sales tax and it will be under $27.00 shipped.... but you have to spend $100 to get free shipping

Like the idea of 2 heads for Bludgeon because you can give the second head to Wreckage. Does mean Wreckage gets retro-fitted into G1 then?
Even without these upgrades, I much prefer deluxe Bludgeon over the Voyager version and his goofy, Star Wars TF head.

At my TRU they are still marked $34.99 but if you scan them they scan on clearance for $24.98. Still not sure if it is worth it since the upgrades will probably cost around $30, especially since I have the original version of these molds. I do like the bludgeon colors better than wreckages' color, bludgeons colors fit being a military vehicle better.

Plus, I don't even own those two figures(though I should, Bludgeon/Wreckage has potential).
And, the heads don't look movie-ish at all, though I do like Whirl's, which can still pass for it.
Voyager Bludgeon also bothers me with his blatantly non movie head...

I'm in Texas and I was able to get for 20 and some change.
On the subject of the the upgrade package, Whirl doesn't more guns...those would be better suited for Blackout or another 'Con. The head does have a resemblance to those drone heads, so one could build a small drone army.
For some reason I view APC-Bludgeon as an homage to his original robot form and Tank-Bludgeon as an homage to his pretender shell. As such, I don't like the head-swap set.
