Ever since Ryan flicked the switch on Heavy Metal War game, the HMW forums have been graced with many creative players. Some kitbashed, some photoshopped, some simply wrote fics while others drew renditions of their characters. But they all brought their HMW characters to life in some form.

Jason Tyler is a relatively new player to the game but he's kept on with the HMW creative tradition.

Drawing inspiration from the hugely popular Mosaics and HMW mission logs, Jason has created a short three part series entitled "Firestormers".

Thanks everyone! Any while I would appreciate if no one would "rag" on the art work - I'm completely open to constructive criticism. I'm no expert here - as you guys can even see the styles are changing a little bit each time as I test and try to see what works and what doesn't!

Not bad, thought it looks ripped straight out of Iron Man. :P

The art work was meant to be that way as to keep the characters portrayed in it somewhat vague in appearance. I for one love his art and the way it is laid out. Sure, I may be a little bias on this first story tho :P

Simply amazing. I play Heavy Metal War at least once a day, but this is pretty amazing! Any chance this could become a mission for either the Autobots or the Decepticons? :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: And any chance you could do another, featuring the East Cybertron Trading Co.? ;)

Only issue I have is that I also have an HMW character and OC named Warzone (who I made back when I was like 4 after watching Transformers on tv in 1994).

That said...I guess there can be an Autobot and Decepticon with the same name.

While having your name "sullied" by the other guy could be a problem on Cybertron, I sincerely doubt there wasn't overlap somewhere. There are just only so many combinations of letters in any gizen alphabet. Plus, we know at least 2 canon Megatrons.

I fell out of HMW, mostly due to life, though I suspect the repetition of actions wore me down, I went to hands-on things. Mosytly, I blame life. However, my HMW chars are still kicking around in my head and occasionally I draft them out in a story. Maybe when one's good enough I'll toss it in. But I'm glad to see the creativity still/back in HMW.

Well this Warzone is based off Aerialbot Commander's Warzone, I won't depict anyones character without their permission.

I created this out of an actual arena battle log between Aerialbot Commander's Warzone and a Decepticon. I made the Decepticon vague in design like because I did not seek the owners permission.

Right now I am working on the Inferno series based off of the Inferno Story Logs, then I have a two other requests.

I'm trying to keep it based in the HMW realm so I want to base all of these comics off of HMW Characters, Battles, or Missions.

And I'd love to see other people bring their artwork into it - even if it's just characters!

I love this comic; taking a simple mission result and turning it into something everyone can enjoy ,even if they dont play the game.

I look forward to what else you can come up with...

Jason:
Great work, it's awesome to see a newer player like yourself diving into the mythos and helping others to visualize the game.
(FYI, if any battles you want to work with involve my team, you are free to use them, just try to match the colors on their icons.)

Burn:
Good Idea using Jason's work for a news article, HMW needs every decent shot on the news ticker we get.

I don't care as long as its not a Decepticon named Warzone, then it would be annoying.

Yeah I only play HMW every so often, but nowadays when I think up a character design I draw it or use Word to "build" one (check my posts and go to Dimension Wars Fanart to see what I mean), its more rewarding to see an idea "flesh out" rather then to let it marinate and expire over time if you don't make it a point to remember it.

But you know, with our control panel, it takes like 5 mins to load the character editting screen.
Yes, we CAN edit characters. It's just slow.

I would never condone that sort of thing
except for comedy purposes.

this is really cool, dude!
I've always thought that reading the mission results was kind of like reading the script for some choreographed fight scene in a movie.
