It's just a small story illustrating how involved he was with fans from any pop culture fandom. And he did brush with the Transformers fandom as well since he was the voice Emissary in Transformers Titans Returns. This is a sad day for many many fans and we wish his family our our sincere condolences.

Suicide is one of those things that can hit anyone, at any time, even if it seems like they have everything together and are living a happy fulfilling life, they may very well not be. That's why it's important to reach out and talk to people, they may be suffering in silence, but while a simple "Hi, what's up?Do you want to chat for a bit?" may not be a miracle cure or anything, but it can mean the world to someone going through that.

Rest in peace Jason David Frank.

I was a bit young to remember Mighty Morphin' when it was new, but I did enjoy Power Rangers Dino Thunder when I was a kid, that was my introduction to both Jason Frank himself and Tommy. I also survived a suicide attempt a couple of years ago, but still struggle with my mental health a lot and live with suicidal urges near daily.

Seconding this. I've been there a couple of times (never made an actual attempt always caught myself while I was still contemplating/planning), and one of the biggest things to have kept me from going through with it was the support system I was lucky enough to have.
Hope both he and everyone affected find peace.

Rest in power, JDF. You were loved by many.

TOO MUCH ENERGON! wrote:I was there from the very first episode’s original airdate in 1993 (Fox Kids had been showing commercials hyping me up for about a month prior), and instantly fell in love with Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. The Green Ranger was always my favourite, so much so that I collect Green Ranger stuff to this very day. I’ve always attributed me having long hair most of my life to Tommy from Power Rangers, and Duncan MacLeod from Highlander. I got to meet JDF back in 2018, and though I’ve met a lot of relatively famous people in my day, this was the first time I got starstruck and nervous. Got him to sign my reissue of the original “head morphing” Green Ranger figure, which has been up on my wall ever since. He later gave a presentation about his past struggles with addiction and depression, and how he overcame them. It was a really inspiring speech. It’s a shame his demons got the best of him. When I first saw the headline this morning about his death, I quite literally dropped my phone in shock. His death is hitting me especially hard given my own experiences with suicide, having just attempted it for the dozenth time this past summer.
Rest in power, JDF. You were loved by many.
Damn, sorry you had to go through that.
If you, Munkky or anyone else ever needs to talk about it, send me a pm.

To think that things could get ever that bad that one would even consider just ending it all... It's too sad to even fathom.

Life ain't easy, as they say. We all have our own good and bad days. Sometimes it simply comes to our ability to endure the worst of them.
RIP JDF

Been there almost every day of my life for over 20 years. Not saying this to get sympathy or anything, just a statement of fact.
