Last night's episode of Knight Rider also featured a teaser for the upcoming episode called "Knight To King's Pawn", which fan site knight rider online was gracious enough to host on YouTube. In the 20 second clip you can hear Peter Cullen as KARR say the line "KITT Must Die!!!"

Yep, this may be one episode I can make it through.
Peter is right: KITT (and this show) must die!

So grossing $800 million worldwide isn't "win" huh? Sounds like they won quite a bit to me.
This show is not good and does need to be whacked. They tried to make it campy like the original, but it didn't work.

Knight Rider also fails quite badly... But For some reason I keep watching it. It keeps me from stabbing myself with pens at work?

The new kinght rider is just as good as the old one...you might just be thinking the old one was some masterpiece when its just as cheezy as the new.
Plus Karr is a great big robot that sounds like an evil optimus prime what more could you want.
AND from the look of this image from the intro sequence hes a transformer too! (or could it be the new KITT has a bot mode too?)
Say what you like, I enjoy it!

Apparently they are scrapping a few characters and changing out a lot of the writing staff.
I've watched the last few epps just so I'd know what was going on for the KARR episode, and I'm curious to see if the change in staff will help the show any.
IMO, as it is now, the show is not just campy but epically lame.

The idea is that KITT only changes into other vehicles (which they will use less in future episodes and limit him more to just variations of the battle-mode) but KARR is more military driven and can transform into that drone. At this moment it is not clear if this KARR is the same KARR from the original series, but it has been suggested that this KARR has been around for a while.caitlindevi wrote:What do you mean fail?

I wouldn't mind... The only character I actually liked died in the last episode. =(bgrngod wrote:So hoping for K.A.R.R. to ACTUALLY kill K.I.T.T. and the rest of the entire cast, and then reformat into Optimus is a bit too much wishing right?

i'll definetly be checking this out.
didnt see the drone thing coming though. wouldve thought it just been anothe car with the same capabililties as kitt.
still should be fun and hopefully they wont kill him off so we can get a grudge match later on

It'd be cooler if he was a black '87 Mustang GT w/ silver ground effects, like the Trans-Am but better.
But he's a Mustang, so he could be an LX 4-cylinder and I'd still love him.
And he transforms?
And sounds like Optimus (somewhat ironic)
My god.

The only thing "special" about that truck was that it had KITT's bonded invulnerability shell (everywhere but the pin that connects the trailer to the truck), and that it was driven by the "prototype" of Michael Knight's face, evil relative Garth...
Nah, let Goliath rest in pieces, along with Garth, don't want any bright ideas about Garth and twins...

But... I'll give this one, single episode a watch.
And then it's silence again.
Of course, I might just scrap watching even this episode... yeah, it has Cullen and he's a robot... but he's a robot that looks like the awful movie robots.
Bah... I'll flip a coin. (Seriously, I literally am going to flip a coin on this.)

As usual, Peter Cullen delivers.... I hope this boosts the interests and ratings of the show.
And now they are going to be know as F.L.A.G.
The Foundation for Law And Government.... a nod back to the oringinal, well done.
I really hope that wasn't the end of KARR.....

It looked like it was supposed to be at least a 2-part story that got cut short.
It was like watching a show in fast forward.
On the flip side, I'm looking forward to the new direction for the show.

On the plus side, it was good to hear Cullen doing what he does best and this could be a great set up for a much better show. Was strange hearing Prime's voice coming from KARR though.
Sadly the negatives heavily outweigh the positives. I have had a problem with KITT's transformations in the new show, there is simply no need for them. The old show had KITT's super pursuit mode where a few bits of the car changed slightly but the new one goes over the top. Neons! What possible use could they have? Who designed the car, a teenager?
They killed KARR off way too easily. You would assume that KARR would have the same armour as KITT or at least something similar yet KITT managed to tear him apart while none of his advanced systems were online.
I was hoping that there would be a shot at the end of the show where KARR was shown to be still active, this would have kept those people who tuned in to the show to see him coming back week after week but no, it seems that is all over now and it will be back to the usual format with a couple less people.
I don't get the show, is it a reboot of Knight Rider, pretending that the 80's show never happened? It seems that way as they seemed to imply that KARR and KITT are new. Yet, Mike is the son of Micheal Knight from the 80's show which featured a KARR and a KITT. Its too confusing and I think that is what lets the show down, it doesn't know what it is, where its going or where it has been.
I was also hoping that KITTs transforming Mustang would be destroyed and he would the be built into another vehicle that was just KITT, they could keep the lasers and turbo boost etc but ditch the transformations.
I also have a problem with the way Mike drives, he sits in a very strange position and hardly ever looks where he is going. Also, the production staff dont take much notice of the film they use on the in car scenes. During the build up you can see out the window that they are driving through empty waste land or desert or something but when the camera cuts back outside suddenly they are surrounded by buildings.
Hmmm...think I am over thinking. Its only a TV show after all. Its good to vent though.

The whole KARR Transfomer thing...it wasn't too bad for a tv show but the whole human pilot thing seemed a bit too contrived and just a way to get rid of a character in the reinvention of the series.
As for Kitt I kinda like it as a Mustang...the trans am always was a bit conspicuous. I don't like the interious dash set up though...the plasma ball thing is a little too power rangers for my likeing
