I just found out that the new Shockwave KO reissue is already available, boxed, and that there are 2 versions, one with a purple barrel and one with a grey barrel just like the original. Please check here:

Vintage collectors must be careful with the grey barrel versions...
Best regards

It's probably shitty quality. The actual G1 Shockwave was already shitty quality to begin with. His legs and hands are notorious for breaking off, so I'm told. I'd buy a purple barreled version though. Just as long as it's for a knock-off price and not at vintage G1 price. Maybe we'll see it at BotCon.

It's a KO simply because it's an unoficial and unlicensed remake, probably done by Zhong Jin, just like the other high quality KOs. It's being passed as a Hasbro product when it's not and it's illegaly reissued.
As for it's quality I don't know as I didn't buy one yet, but I'm thinking about doing it next month as a brand new vintage one costs too much. But I have the Zhong Jin KO reissues for Mirage, Wheeljack and Reflector and I must say that they're just like Encore reissues, same good quality (even better than some: e.g. Jazz).
So, I guess that it probably is also of good quality. But the point of being a KO is because it's an illegal remake.

Quoted from one of the sellers answers:
"hi,the Sunstreaker KO and and Octane KO will come soon, maybe next month"
http://www.ioffer.com/i/Transformers-G1-Spotlight-Shockwave-KO-Reissue-IN-BOX-107072101
As for me, it's the first time I hear of an Octane KO, at least on this "good quality lineup".

But otherwise it looks real nice, and the Styrofoam tray just adds to the 80's feeling.
If this were the real deal I'd have no qualms about paying 85 bucks for it.
But for a knockoff it seems a little steep no matter how good the quality is.
30 maybe 40 bucks and I'd be all over it.

I am not a fan of the knock-offs no matter how good or bad they are,
but there is clearly a market for them but I am sorry to say that I have seen some people sell them as 'reissues' which I feel is wrong
not a great first post but I am overwhelmed by this forum and the substancial membership it has,

First time post here too for me.
I recieved my G1 accurate Shockwave knock off this morning and I have to say I am
VERY impressed ! The electronics work fine and the whole feel of the figure is
of exceptional quality, better than the recent Cassette Encore reissue and the re release of Sunstorm, both from Takara !
The only issue with it is the loose joints, however I have an old Shack-Wave I can use for
the "Ratchet" joints.
If anyone is on a tight budget I would reccomend these knock - off's, they are filling a gap in the market that Hasbro more than Takara are wrongly ignoring. If Hasbro cannot get off their arse and sort out the legal issues and give the fans what they want after 25 years of loyalty then Sc*ew them !

It's great to know that the Shockwave Zhong Jin KO remake is excelent . But about Hasbro and TakaraTomy not making a reissue for this one I think they already said that they really can't do it legally. They can't acquire the rights for them to be able to release the figure, so it's not their fault as they can't even if they want to. I bet that if they could we would already have seen this one reissued.

I appologies if I came across as angry trans fan, was not my intention.
I thank Hasbro for 25 years of great merchandise, I got my first Transformer back in 1984 and loved them since. But, as a U.K fan we do tend to get sc*ewd on the figure front.
Come on Hasbro U.K, get the message !

VaultKeeper wrote:That's a fair comment, if they have already looked into the legal issue on this then i suppose their hands are tied. Who owns the rights to this mould then, I assume that Hasbro own the likeness and name rights for the figure ? And if Hasbro do not hold legal rights over it is it technically classed as a knock - off ?

I'm not sure about it, but the news were posted in this site, I remember that. Maybe you can still find it...
I'm notsure I understood the question well. Do you mean if Hasbro reissued it if it would be considered a KO? It that's it, I guess so, as strange as it may seem :S .
Do you think you get screwed for TFs in UK? Well, think about it in Portugal... we don't get almost anything from TFs over here. Everything G1 has to come from online shops, and even apart from those reissues, not every other new figures are released here... I still haven't seen a single one from the Universe line-up in Toys'R'Us or any other place, except people buying online and then selling in eBay-like auction sites . Heck, not even the new ROTF figures are available on our TRU (yet, some are available on supermarkets! Ridiculous...)

I do believe "Toy Co toys of Japan" owns the rights to "Astro Magnum" aka Shockwave and Radio Shack licensed the toy under Galactic man.

$1 each!!!!! I only got Two and have blended the kits to get one figure in practically the right colours.

For those who believed, like me... let us all open a dispute on ioffer and contact PayPal by doing the following to get a refund:
http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/buyer-complaint-outside
I'm expecting the worst when I receive my package on Friday... I'll take photos to show to PayPal if needed. And I'm wondering if I'm also going to receive a pen just like that person who already gave feedback to the seller...
Yes, I feel like an idiot for having believed in this seller. It sounded fishy from the beginning because the prices were very good compared to the other sellers. But he answered everything and it seemed to be real.
I'll write here again on Friday after receiving the package and confirming if I was actually deceived just like others were.
Anyway, this is a warn to everyone not to buy from this seller... If was deceived I hope I'll get my money back from PayPal .

Yeah, I'm afraid it really seems I was con by that seller as were many more... he is in fact from China. But there are many good sellers from there, and I know some of those.
But I think we may be able to get our money back. I have a friend who once received a graphics card which was damaged, he filed a claim with PayPal and was able to get a refund. And that is harder to prove than this. So, I guess that if we fill a claim on PayPal and open a dispute on ioffer we may be able to get back our money. I'm going to document well everything upon receiving the package to use as proof with PayPal. I'm going to take detailed pics, possibly also film the opening of the package. And then I'll provide them with all the invoices and emails, plus the messages at ioffer, which are visible to everyone (and I assume ioffer can see even the private ones). I'll contact the seller both by email and ioffer. And that way I can show them that he didn't answer to me. I already sent a message yesterday and he didn't say anything. Also, on PayPal it says that when we fill a claim if the seller don't answer they will give us reason and a refund.
Well, I just hope everyone gets their money back and the guy should go to jail, although I don't know if they can catch them. But I guess they'll have access to his address through PayPal because I guess he must receive the money on his bank account. That may help to get him.

yeah, I prefer ko's that are oversized, undersized or retooled or coloured in some wacky way, a plain old copy isn't as interesting
you can get ko's here, I meet the guy before in China,

Yes, and it is different from his address on the invoice. The one on the invoice says he's from:

Panjin 124010, China
while the one on the package (it is actually a cushioned envelope) reads:

I just ordered a wheeljack from t800pro and it should be here by friday. This guy seems like a good seller on ioffer based on his feedback from the tfw2005 boards. The box is probably going to be banged up but what can you expect? Its coming from China.

The shipping company will know exactly who he is. usually in China if you want to ship something, you call a shipping company, and they send someone to your door to pick it up. I shipped a bunch of stuff back while I was there, and that's what they did. any shipping company info on the package?
Searching Xing ren co. ltd found other complaints
Searching "Hu Yi Gong Lu" found this map
