I didn't know Grimlock liked arcade games! XD
Was that a generic Decepticon minifigure, or an actual character?

Anyway... I am looking for something a bit more obscure. I have yet to see for sale anywhere the KRE-O Elite Transformers Optimus Prime that was given away free at TRU's in Canada on 9/27/14. If anyone has one for a reasonable price, please PM me, I would be interested. Thank you.

The RiD 2015 Bumblebee set has been found at some TJ Maxx stores here and there. Yet to see one myself. None of the others, however :/o.supreme wrote:Well, I was able to order the Class of 85 set from Hasbro Toy Shop yesterday, and both Kreon Warrior sets from Robot Kingdom a while back. So now in order to get the RiD 2015 sets, I have to find the least expensive way to get them either from a Hong Kong or Canadian seller on eBay.... This might take a while.

That Elite Optimus Prime, yeah that's elusive, I have never even seen a listing for one on ebay. Wonder if one of our Canadian members could confirm it actually came out?

The elusiveness of that Canadian Elite Optimus Prime baffles me as well. At the U.S. event in June where the Dinobot Ride was given away, my kids each got one, and I actually got 2 to leave sealed. The TRU I went to seemed to have plenty of extras, I wonder what happened to them? One Canadian seller on eBay told me (take this with a grain of salt), that the Elite Optimus Prime was given strictly ONLY to children. Whether that is true or not, I cannot say, but it does provide one possible theory, though I would think even some loose ones might have appeared on ebay. But yes, if anyone out there can confirm if the event did in fact take place (I assume since all the TF sites reported it), and if anyone has this Kre-O, additional details would be appreciated. Thank you

The TRU by my place had multiple events that day, with a LEGO one being the main attraction. When I headed in around 1PM the events were all being cleaned up, and it took checking with three different staffers to find one who had any idea that those where also being given out. She checked the back and handed me two of them.
In conclusion, Yes they exist but not in any large capacity I could see, (likely as they were sitting on Star Trek Enterprise Kre-o give aways for ages) for an event with little to no fanfare.

Way to go TRU/Hasbro. 2015 - Keeping the product away from the U.S. fans that actually want it, and giving it to the Canadian market that couldn't care less.

Where did I say that the Canadian market couldn't care less? I know a few people that were pissed when they found out the event happened after the fact, and also missed out.
Please don't marginalize your fellow fans for something that a retailer mismanaged.
And as far as keeping the product away, Canadians got shafted on the GIJoe line, the only release after the first wave up here was the 2nd blind bag set.
Posted by o.supreme on August 3rd, 2015 @ 10:15am CDT
I assumed you meant there were hardly any interested fans at the event. If you meant it was TRU that was poorly promoting it, then I apologize. At the U.S. event in July, there were tons of kids and parents at my local TRU, and I don't know if there was any promotion at all. Still they had literally hundreds of the things to give away, thus the reason you see so many on eBay etc...
Of course because I am about a 15 hour drive away from the closest Canadian TRU (which coincidentally would be the one in Vancouver). I imagine in my mind all these 2015 RiD 2015 Kre-O sets just warming shelves, as the AoE ones did in both U.S. & Canada since they produced way too many. Of course you would be the one to know. I only collect Transformers Kreo-O, so I wouldn't be aware of any limitations from other lines, but many U.S. fans missed out on other waves, because they were so obscurely produced.
Posted by Editor on August 3rd, 2015 @ 10:30am CDT
As far as the RiD sets, you can erase that thought right away. Most didn't show up at TRU, and were found at Walmart and locally at London Drugs (likely with stock that was originally set for Canadian Target locations) they definitively are not shelf warming up here.
[sarcasm] It's a 15 hour drive, but why not come visit the land above the 49th, and revel in our left over AOE stock and dwindling Kreon Warriors supply.[/sarcasm]
No it is a different world as far as buying at retail up here, but if you have questions feel free to ask.

If you are already heading to the PacNorWest for a week or two, it wouldn't be a bad add-on if your plan was to come up. Even if checking our local main comic, hobby, & toy shops you can make a pretty full day or week-end out of it.

Hold the phone, isn't this line not planned for a US release at all? Well, it certainly seems that way for traditional "Big Box" retail, but while out at the comic shop today I also stopped next door into a TJ Maxx store in Raleigh, NC and picked up this set for a measly $9.99 plus tax! This is not only discounted from MSRP, but also much better than recent secondary market prices for this set.
This set had first been seen in Canada several months ago, and has possibly been at discount retail in the US for a few weeks as well. Will this be a harbinger of future sightings of more Robots In Disguise Kre-O product, or could this just be a one-off order that's made its way to discount chains? Time will tell, but if you see other RiD Kre-O sets at US retail, be sure to let our News Crew know here, and if you see this particular set locally be sure to let your fellow collectors know in your local Sightings Thread.

I'm more interested in... well, just about any other RiD set. The humanoid Kreons don't do the bestial Decepticons any favors, and Clampdown in particular doesn't really look like himself. Plus this one has Bumblebee, blech.

And.... went to 2 TJ Maxx locations in my area. The first one DID in fact have one RiD Bumblebee Disc Demolishor set which I quickly snatched up ($9.99 as indicated above). They also had one AoE Dinobot Charge set for $7.99, not that great a deal, but odd considering my TRU's still have several of these.
The other TJ Maxx only had two of the AoE Dinobot Charge sets. So I can confirm one sighting/purchase for California/Sacramento. They are out there. Good Hunting everyone else.
I am curious to see if someone finds a RiD set other than the BB one.

I apologize is this was brought up in earlier pages of this thread however... Concerning the SDCC exclusive Yearbook sets for the past 2 years. Last years "Class of 84" was a nice surprise. However I think this years "Class of 85" was an even bigger surprise considering the Kre-O line for 2015 basically, with a few anomalies aside, is not available in the United States.
Now I think most fans will agree, the original Toy line was at its strongest though 1986 (basically the 3rd year of toys)- 1986 was the year the animated movie came out, and the TV series had a 3rd season that followed suit, however many fans dropped off after this. I myself collected toys through 1987 (mostly because of Fort Max), but after that I was done, additionally with the TV series coming to an end in North America, support for the toys dwindled, even though they limped on until 1990.
Now, all that being said. I am *somewhat* anticipating a "Class of 86" set for next year, although I wont be too disappointed if it doesn't happen. Still... If it does, who do you think will be in it? Here are my predictions (sayings are probably totally off but whatever, I was never on the schools yearbook committee for a reason)
Blurr Fastest Athlete
Broadsides Loves to Get Away from It All
Cyclonus Most Loyal
Eject Most Shy
Galvatron Most Changed
Hot Rod/Rodimus Most Likely to Succeed
Hotspot Team Player
Hubcap Most Cases of Mistaken Identity
Kup Best Memory
Metroplex Big Man on Campus
Motormaster Grease Monkey
Octane Best Negotiator
Onslaught Most likely to join the Military
Rewind History Buff
Razorclaw Most Enthusiastic
Runabout Best Twin
Runamuck Second Best Twin
Sandstorm Most Friendly
Scourge Best Suited for Middle Management
Sharkticon Loves to Eat
Silverbolt Well Grounded
Skylynx Most Undecided
Springer Most Jealous
Swerve Late Bloomer
Tailgate Loves to tell stories
Trypticon Least Mobile
Unicron Most Chaotic
Ultra-Magnus Most Inspired
Wheelie Best Poet

This includes Frenzy, Rumble, Laserbeak, and Ravage. All for $8, not bad.
TJ Maxx also had:
Battle Changer HOUND -- also $8, even though it's just one figure
AOE Drift, Slag, and Vehicon -- $8
RID Bumblebee VS Crab Cons -- $10

Haven't opened mine yet, but from what I gather there are no extra parts to make a regular Kreon, and the torso and legs have been redone in such a way that makes them incompatible with regular Kreons.

Prime is bad. Bumblebee is a little better. The only other one I would want is Starscream. I've heard some of the builds are a little better but you also can't man handle them
