Dear Pete, could you have picked a different week than one that Dadwas in the hospital to release P/CP? As it is, I'm gonna miss out on the one I want, because the guy who's name is on the credit card is laid up. I have money, but no card. Oh well.
Crap.

No disrespect to anybody but I see this figure making a comeback. Just like Thrust.

Maybe, but Thrust will took 3 years to make mass produced status in the US since his first appearance. It's also been said (and confirmed) that TFCC destroys the molds it uses to prevent KOs appearing in the future.
So I'm not holding my breath; and even if P/CP does make mass release, I'll have gottem my enjoyment from the fig.

Not only that, but if/when P/CP makes a 'traditional' release, if ever, it won't be exactly like the TFCC release, just like Thrust wasn't. In this case, that's a guaranteed new head sculpt.
I'd be right in line for that reissue also.; just like Thrust. Maybe Hasbro/TT would scuplt some new hands. 3rd party makers have an opportunity here. I wondering how long before those appear in the market?

No disrespect to anybody but I see this figure making a comeback. Just like Thrust.
TFCC licenses product from Hasbro, not the other way around. If Hasbro wanted to make more, they'd tell TFCC, "We're making more." I'd be shocked if Hasbro/Takara would ever do that, though, without telling the TFCC "you're through." Sure, they'd re-sculpt possibly, but never straight out reissue the club's exclusive works.

That's my opinion as well. I've been enjoying Thundercracker, Thrust, and Dirge from the GoD set for three years now. Making the set well worth the price I paid for the Iacon package.

You are officialy a borderline scalper who is out of his freaking mind.
Fun Pubs really needs to put a three per member limit.
And so many of you people are ordering around 5-10 of these things!
Are any of you not scalpers?

Call it an investment. Call me a collector. DO NOT CALL ME A SCALPER! How offensive to be grouped with that scum. Scalpers buy up as much of a product as they can and usually immediately sell it on eBay for rediculous mark-ups. And don't type as if you know me. I am a collector who is just now starting a Botcon collection. A MISP/MISB collection. And by the way, paying out the ass for it. I am getting my Punch/Counterpunch figures to help pay for my hobby, my passion, my obsession.
Why is it so understandable to get 3? Shouldn't 1 suffice? I'll proudly have a Punch on my shelves, I'll have a Counterpunch as well. I'll have a specimen to keep MISB for myself, and 4 more to sell as i please, or maybe give to friends. I'll probably sell them as most of my friends choose to blow all there money on getting high and wouldn't appreciate them. Or maybe, just maybe, I'll send one to a certain moderator who is likely lurking, real nearby.
If you want to call me a scalper, thats fine. I will call you Dickcheese. But lets not resort to name calling shall we?
Now i have to go to bed angry. Maybe an eighth P/CP will make me feel better.
And seriously, I don't think any of us on this board are scalpers. Just enthusiastic about vehicles that can change form into robots. Dickcheese.

You buy extra with the intention of selling down the track.
And that's not scalping.
Yes?

You'll have to settle for MIB since they won't be sealed. The boxed club and Botcon figures aren't ever. Bagged figures are a different story of course since they're sealed in a baggy.

This is wise. I'd edit your post a bit. Flaming isn't really tolerated bud.

Your right. What I said was over the line. I should not have called anyone a "scalper". And I apologize for it.
But I still strongly believe that there should be a limit on how many people order. Just to avoid such a thing.
Also Flux is right. They aren't MISB, only MIB. The most I've personally seen so far is a few teeny rubber bands on some minicons.

As for FunPub limiting the amount you can buy you have to understand why they CAN'T do it as they do not know which items will be popular and need to make their money back as quickly as possible.

Congrats to the Transformers Collectors Club on such a fast sell out. I surely would have gotten my hand on one of them if I had the cash.

This is bullshit! As a member of the TFCC I'm pissed that my membership means so little that I can't even pre order one before they are sold out. In my case I was away all weekend for work and I find out today that I'm SOL.
So here's what should have been done:
Members get the chance to preorder a week in advance of non members with a strict cap placed per figure, per member THEN open the preorders to the rest of the public.
Very disappointed in this... Don't think I'll be buying back into the TFCC unless this issue is resolved.

Has any other club figure ever sell out during pre-order? I have to assume some sold out eventually, but most likely after they were in stock at the club store.

All members of the club should have first refusal for exclusives then any extra made open to the public. You will see a glut of these on the ebay soon.
I ment to order one but meh, im not going to loose any sleep over not having one.

I very much doubt it. The production numbers were less than 2000. There's not a glut of ANY TF toy on eBay with production numbers that low, much less a highly desired classics-style toy.

Here's the actual text from the email:
Brian wrote:Response to the current club exclusives pre-orders has been incredible! Over the weekend Punch/Counter Punch has sold out!
However, we are checking to see if we can get the quantities increased. We will keep you posted if we are able to do this. If we are able to increase the production numbers, we ask that you give members who have not ordered a set, the chance to purchase before you order seconds...etc.
In addition, Cyclonus has sold through approximately 60% of the run. If you are interested in that figure, don't delay as we expect it to sell out soon as well.
BotCon update: We are still working on final details and the online registration system. We hope to have the brochure up very soon.
Thanks for your support!

Possibly but but with the amount of people buying 5/7/10 pieces there will be a steady supply on ebay.
Gotta love those fans who most definately arent scalpers, I would never dare colour them with that tarnished brush for seeing an investment to fund a purchase of a MISB Black Zarak by excessive over buying to sell at a grossly inflated price
Hopefully the production run will be increased to meet demand, but if it does im certain people will be buying them in multiples again.
the system is seriously flawed, atleast botcons is better than it was a few years ago, makes me miss when the Hartmans ran it and limited it to two per attendee.

I really can't express how sick I am over this argument, and I really don't want to offend anybody. If you're not able, or more to the point not willing, to fork over a couple of extra bucks every once in a while, you are never going to have all the figures that appeal to you. That's OK for a lot of people, but if you must have everything, and you don't want to pay, this is not the hobby for you.
This is all coming from a guy who has lost 50% of his pay since I started collecting.
The position that Downshift is in is a little different because he wasn't around. But I also don't fault the club at all on this. This is the first time that a club figure has sold out so quickly and they still lasted long enough for most interested parties to get one.
You wanna be enraged, try the Masters of the Universe Classics line. 4 minute sell outs and people not even able to get onto the website.

With Sunstreaker/Sideswipe the gun had a fixed barrel. This one looks like each mode has it's own distinct version. The engine closing over the gun wasn't an official gimmick and in this case it appears they've perfected it since they're advertising it.

If it ends up being lame, the response will be brutal.

Or they just don't have a production sample in finalized colors yet. The head in just black plastic wouldn't be much to look at.

I think not! I remember seeing the pictures for P/CP and having the reaction of HOLY SMOKES thats what those engine flaps are for and was the first thing I tried when I got home!
I'm glad I was able to preorder one of these. I feel sorry for those who missed out since the same happened to me with the Seacons! It wasn't about saving money for it. It was that there where so many SWEET figures being released at one time that I ran out of funds. I did feel irritated reading about someone ordering more than 3 figures as if it was an arguement waiting to happen! I do agree that fanpub should allow a 2 per order limit for one week and then open the flood gates. I barely found out that they where up for pre-order. If possible at all give us an exact pre-order date! If they did I'm sorry since I'm no longer a TFCC member.
