We're nearing the release of Movie Masterpiece MPM-14 Bonecrusher and we're already getting our first tease of the next MPM. Thanks to the finding of Jtprime17 we're now aware that what we're going go guess is MPM-15, Brawl, is on the horizon! At this point we know next to nothing about the release but it's probably a safe bet that it'll be a Target exclusive in the US and available worldwide through the usual suspects like Amazon Japan.
With this we're basically at the end of of the 2007 movie lineup, the only exclusion being Frenzy. Maybe Hasbro will find a way to fix that someday soon. Hard to say if we'll be seeing Brawl's reveal this year or not but we shouldn't be too far away from it. More as we learn it. Big thanks to EvasionModeBumblebee for posting this in the Energon Pub Forums!

They've been overly fiddly, a chore to transform, frustrating to handle, and they pose like a block of pig iron. The MP version would have to do a heckuvva lot to dispel the foul stench that all the other versions of Bayverse Brawl have left in the air.
Does that apply to the studio series release? I always thought that was a solid figure.

Besides the turret tail, the Studio Series one is pretty great! Not only fun but also very screen accurate.
And while it isn't as screen accurate, the 07 leader class figure is an absolute blast!
With the repaints they've done of Ratchet and Starscream, I wonder if we'll get a tan desert deco of this figure for the one that appears in DOTM. We need that in Studio Series too!

Funny thing is, Brawl is one of those characters where I'd say that, outside of his 07 deluxe arm connections in robot mode, he really hasn't had a bad toy. Nothing amazing (except maybe leader class), but he's always solid

I had SS Brawl for a while, and even reviewed it. But I grew weary of it and had the minions sell it off, for the reasons listed above. I dreaded transforming the thing because of the way you have to wrestle with the chest and the turret sections. And they make you stop transforming some areas mid-way through, so you can transform other areas, and shuffle back and forth between zones. It was just too much work. And in the end, you still couldn't pose it very well. The legs were especially frustrating. Not nearly as bad as the Leader 2007 figure, but close...
But those are my opinions - I'm sure other folks enjoy these figures and I won't take that away from them. I'm just saying that unless MP Brawl does something really amazing to step away from those past issues, I won't be tempted. And I have my doubts, because MP figures in general are really advanced and they often wind up magnifying the frustration rather than easing it.

And the transformations were the main reason. They were just too fussy, too fiddly, too complicated. The engineering necessary to get the tank figure to turn into the robot figure required too much effort IMO, and I felt it made it so the figures weren't any fun.
Secondly, the robot modes were too encumbered to get decent poses. In most cases, the articulation points were all there, so there was great potential for good posing. But there was so much parts crashing that the poses couldn't actually be achieved.
And while this MP Brawl does look amazing, it also looks as of both those issues would be front and center. So unless I saw it on deep discount, it's most likely a regretful pass.

Still waiting for this yet to happen Bonecrusher sale...
As for Brawl, how much will it cost? Same as Bony?

DeathReviews wrote:The figure looks excellent. But it lists 79 transformation steps. I've had several of the movie Brawl/Devastator tank figures over the course of years. The 2007 Deluxe figure. The 2008 Leader figure. The Studio Series Voyager. Because I like a good tank figure, and the movie figure looked pretty neat. However, as time went by, I let go of each one, either selling or giving them away.

Are you me?
Because I did the same with the same reasons.
Even if that MPM Brawl look nice, I doubt I'll ever buy him.
And if Bonecrusher serves as an example, I doubt it will ever go on clearance because of the limited number produced.

The benefit of him being a Target exclusive here is we get to use their random toy and Transformers specific sales on him to get $25 or 30% off him even during pre-order. I paid $140 for my Bonecrusher, others were able to get better deals with earned gift cards.

He'll probably be at the $165 price point at Target like Bonecrusher and Blackout were despite being drastically different sized figures. Not sure how that translates for you.

As expected.
So that mean that translate to: "Wait for a sale to buy, and if he's never on sale and disappear, eh..."

Kinda funny that he's addressing this before they've done a western announcement. I guess that means a Target listing is eminent.

Well this was a Hasbro announcement and not a Takara one, so I guess they consider it fair game.

That's why I said "western announcement". Back when they announced Tidal Wave in Singapore last year it took them at least a month to acknowledge it outside of the event.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Optimus Prime 2.0 please! I passed on him because I didn't feel it did anything than the Leader class retail figure did so MB-11 is my stand in MPM until Hasbro does something better. And I know they can do better. Heck, Takara Tomy did better with their MPM release. But with Brawl being so impressive that he barely looks like he transforms (from the front anyway) in either mode I'd love to see what kind of amazing engineering wizardry they could pull off on a second try.

We also get some insights on the color scheme, the tank in the film was painted with 3 different house paint colors, and Sam got the exact paint colors to use on the figure!

Honestly think he looks better in toy form. Just filling out the arms really makes a difference.

Looks awesome and the transformation does not look much harder than the original 2007 leader.
This video is around 2 weeks old already. Thank God it randomly appeared in my recommendeds.

At the same time, Amazon Japan has Brawl at a really good price, that being ¥19,394 at checkout, which comes out to $122 USD. Of course, both charge shipping on top of that. We just wanted to let you know of your current options whether you want the toy right now, or if you want it at the best price possible and don't care to wait.
Below are the two links along with a review of the toy.

I'll wait for the Canadian retailers price, but I expect that I'll just trade-in some old stuff at my local geek store to get him.
I still need Barricade to complete my 2007 .

The quatuor missiles launcher's blast effect fall off overtime. So, the only way for me to fix the issue is to point that launcher straight up.

Maybe but they were done before the 'Cons were. Maybe they developed the techniques and improved as they went?

They're also much bigger giving them more space to work with. At the same time be got a good figure later on out of Ratchet, but we also got Bee movie Optimus Prime and his truck cat ears on an otherwise decent figure.

Maybe I'm less picky, but I never thought that the cat ears detracted from the figure. Could they have put a joint in them so they could lay flat in truck mode? I suppoe but how easily would they pop off and/or break? I think it's a necessary evil...well, not necessarily an "evil" but more a necessary annoyance.
