You can see the new images of the Vibrant Red Alternity Convoy here, and the silver version here.
What do you think of the new Alternity concept? Is it a workable replacement for Binaltech? Do you think that HASBRO should import them to the U.S. for domestic release here? Let us know what you think.

Only the piece on the back of Prime's head distracts from his distinctive facial features.

So Tak/Has can make more money.. it's quite simple really.

I think the last story of Binaltech that came with Convoy basically turned it into Alternity. I don't think BT will continue except as Alternity.

I want Alts to come back, heck.. just a few repaints at first maybe, but the thing is that that same repaint strategy is costing has/tak.
I'll buy quality over quantity (alts/mp over animated/universe) but asking one new Alternator mold per year and a repaint or two is obviously too much already.
Dwindling intrest? don't produce 15.000 Sunstreakers and 2000 Swerves!

The mold looks great, it looks like it might be more detailed than Alt/Bin and maybe more poseable too - cos some of the Alt/Bins are quite poor on the articulation front.

I'd buy them for around $15, but not import prices, no way.
I really wish this was Bluestreak though.

heres an idea... or rather fact... prime, megatron, and the seekers outsell every other character. PERIOD. Of course you're gonna have more of those guys than anyone else... its because they sell... and its obviously working (you saying you have more primes and megatrons than any other character just proves this).wardamnpjm1 wrote:I am beginning to think we (the trans collecting community)are getting duped.I am tired of half lines(exeption animated)! Has/Tak/Tommy are milking me/us dry. They always start a new line the same way Prime/Megs then 1 or 5 other characters and the line dies, and we start over again.I have more Prime/Megs/seeker molds and repaints of these same molds than I have shelf space. Is it us?Have we become so picky that we lose interest in a line or characters that quickly that Has/Tak/Tommy has to scrap the line because of dying profits? or Is it that they know we will buy the 10,000th prime and Megs mold if they make it.G1 (toys r us)re-issue line died,binaltech/alternators,etc....etc....all dead. How long before encore and masterpiece follow? Then we start all over again with lines like alternity.I make a stand today,I cancelled my alternity orders.I want some continuity from a line before I start over with another with the same ol same characters!!!!Rant over.
Get over it. If they made a transformers line without prime or megs, then alot of people would freak out. Literally I've seen discussions on these forums over the past 5 years about what if they made a transformers series without prime... and they've all essentially come to a stand-still on whether it would be successful, and no one even knows because hasbro and takara wouldn't dare try it (especially not after the huge outcry after the original transformers movie, once season 3 ended on the note bringing prime back, the damage had been done and only lasted a few episodes before being canceled).
You may complain all you want that they make too many primes and megatrons, but thats because they're the most popular characters on the show.
Back on topic, I personally have a hard time wanting to buy the silver version, mostly because the look it has reminds me too much of alt Silverstreak (or bluestreak for those of you using his cartoon name). I didn't get the pickup truck version of prime (picked up the sdcc nemesis prime version, and snagged the japanese metal "scourge") so I'm pretty sure I'll get the "cartoon" acurate colors for alternity prime.

I have a few issues with these.
Firstly, the GTR does not exactly scream Prime and Megatron to me. Wouldn't they have been better off using the BT scale to make a line of construction vehicles (I can think of atleast 6 that would sell briskly), or a few more cars in the BT scale to finish off the Stunticons? How about some SUVS for Ratchet, Ironhide, Trailbreaker, Hoist? I'm pretty sure those would have flown off shelves. DUH HasTak.
Secondly, the scale...it really fits in..well...nowhere. And where does the line go from here? Well, you gave us Prime and Megs, than what? Recreate the whole BT line as different car models...yeah, good luck selling those.... Instead, why not use this scale and line to produce some high quality MP esque minibots? BB, CJ, Windcharger, now these I would have bough. The GTR mold as Windcharger? Pure Win and it wuld slide smoothly in next to my MP Prime. DUH, has Takara run out of creativity and marketing skills?
Thridly the price...are you kidding me? 15-20 bucks sure I'll grab 'em just for shits and giggles. but at this price point, its a little much for something I am not all that interested in.
So to reiterate, summarize and emphzasize...
P.S. HasTak, if you are reading this, I'll have finished my MBA next year and will be more than happy to come over and run your TF group.

And quit the lame Hastak screws us fans! It's getting old, without them there wouldn't be any...
I still hope they will release Beastwars 2 Unicron
+ Hope they make an alternity Megatron!
It's going to be imports via ebay scalpers since our little eu country will never get these in store (end of dutch rant)

Alternity Megs has been confirmed. He'll be A Nissan Fairlady Z in. And Like with Prime will have 2 color schemes: Silver and Blue.
Heck BBTS has pre-order for it already.
However I think I'll pass. if Hasbro can bring the over here and release them for under 30 bucks then maybe I can consider getting them. As it is, 50 bucks is just to much for such a small figure, even it is nice and detailed.

I'd like to pose Alternity Megs and Universe Prowl side by side. They have the same alt mode. I wonder if the scale of the cars will be exact or not. And i'm curious which robot mode will be bigger.
Alternity Prime red is good. But the "car seats" foot looks too obvious in that color scheme. I'd go for silver.
