The Official Transformers YouTube channel has updated with a brand new Designer Desk video aimed at Australia, giving us another peek into the Aerialbots and Stunticons, AKA Superion and Menasor. This is not the first they've been featured in the Designers Desk video series, as we've just recently reported on their appearance, which you can read about here.

Design Manager John Warden takes center stage yet again to briefly discuss the two combiner teams and you can see the video by clicking on the embed below:

I've noticed that John Warden has taken the lead on this last batch of Design Desk videos. Where did Joshua Lamb go?
I really hope my old signature didn't discourage him from being a part of these vids.

Dear Joshua,

I just want to apologize for any harm I may have done to your feelings. You did a fine job on the video. Although your facial expression may not have matched the sentiment you were conveying, that gave me no right to make you the butt of my joke. In fact a truer statement could not have been made. It is indeed, "a real fun way to play with Transformers". I haven't had this much fun with my Transformers in a long while.
Let's chalk it up to misguided hero worship. Heck, I would kill to have your job. Why you, John, and the rest of the TF design staff are not treated as Rock Gods is beyond me. I wish you and your crew much success. Keep up the great work. You guys are killing it right now!

No hard feelings?
With much respect and admiration,
your #1 fan,

Duuude. Seriously, that's awfully nice of you, but I think you give yourself too much credit. You weren't the only one who made comments on his appearance in the video, so if it was such a thing, it wasn't just you. Still, cool that you'd take that step.

No, most likely what happened was he's either behind the scenes now or moved onto a different department. It's not uncommon for Hasbro to play Musical Chairs with their staffers, a lot of the teams are moved around and broken up from time to time. Although, getting rid of Kyde and Archer was pretty big...

You know what would be a great third party upgrade for these guys? Adapters that allow Energon (and by extension TFC) limbs to connect to CW torsos. That way you could put TFC Groove on Defensor if you don't like rook, or buy the Uranos limbs and replace the godawful TFC Silverbolt with the CW version.

Well than, may my apology extend to all those who poked fun at someone who deserves our respect.

Autobot032 wrote: It's not uncommon for Hasbro to play Musical Chairs with their staffers
Through a reliable source with first hand experience, I have heard that the corporate structure and culture in the design departments at Hasbro is super competitive and down rite cut throat.I asked my source his opinion on why the TF designers aren't idolized like they are in Japan, and he answered, because Hasbro will not stand for it. Take from that what you will.

Autobot032 wrote:getting rid of Kyde and Archer was pretty big...
I've always hoped that Archer left on his own volition, possibly due to said culture. But, that is all speculation on my part.

Anyway...
Viva La Guerras Combinador!!!! :D

The other 2 should be easy to find via the front page news. They hit last week, I think.

OK, if you notice the white plastic sticking out is the head/chest piece for robot mode. If you're ok with that sticking out cool, but there's no way for it to fold flush with the hood like that. I'd also stress caution as those hinges are pinned in and the wrong kind of pressure could cause damage.

Well since Adventure Nemesis Prime has been delayed I bit the bullet and ordered Slingshot and Wildrider. It'll be interesting to see how they look in hand.

I note in this video, the guy did NOT try to rotate Menasor's arm in his socket. Due to weak tabbing, trying this without keeping a grip on the Motormaster sections of the torso will cause them to pop loose....

Ya! You know, Prime doesn't have this problem. I think MM wears the mold better than Prime, but he is a sloppy mess of noodlieness. :-(

Someone said they're on Amazon for £30 inc. postage. I couldn't find them but I haven't had chance to look properly yet. I don't know if it's Amazon.com or .co.uk but by all means, check it out so I don't have to!

Smaller retailers that sell on Amazon will probably get them, right? Maybe?

Kapow toys has them too. Since these are available through diamond distribution, I am certain there will be lots of other smaller sellers selling them in e-bay stores and on amazon, but once they are released (since only then will they know their orders have been fulfilled). So while you might not preorder your toys right now, I am sure that they will be available once released in May.

Arent they available on BBTS?
Re: New Designer Desk Video For The Australian Market (1680518)
Posted by Shockwave7 on April 29th, 2015 @ 2:08pm CDT
All sold out. There's some on Amazon. But I'm thinking more about HasbroToyShop.com (partly because I have a promotional discount coupon that would save a few bucks). I would think that Hasbro's 'official' online store would have first pick of the pre-orders, but there's no sign of them. Plus they haven't restocked wave 2 either - all 'out of stock'. The only ones you can really get are the wave1 figures, Armada Megatron (G1 is in constant 'sold out' mode). I would have hoped they would make a few more this time around. They seem to have severely underestimated demand for the CW line. Understandable maybe, since gazillions of unsold Movie4 toys are still choking the shelves at retailers. Maybe they figured they overdid it with the movie4 stuff, so they low-balled production on CW figures.

Still, why give people like Amazon and BBTS first crack at them and totally ignore their official online sales outlet?

Shockwave7 wrote:Still, why give people like Amazon and BBTS first crack at them and totally ignore their official online sales outlet?

Because most retailers if told or noticed that they were selling them direct first would complain and threaten if not just not order, if they feel they are getting product only after Hasbro has already sold the same products direct.

Plus even if you are using a discount the odds are Hasbro's profit margin selling something at say $15.00, will still be higher than if another retailer sold it for $20.00 simply because of the shorter supply chain. This alone will tick off many retailers, and honestly as a consumer you should question this too.

Think of an item that costs $5 to make, once Hasbro marks it up for overhead and profit sells it to retailers for say $10 to $15, and once marked up you see it at retail for between $20 to $30. If you buy direct from Hasbro for say $20, rather than the retailer making $10-$15 to go for overhead before profits, Hasbro who already has covered any possible costs and already making a profit at $10 is now making another $10 in pure profit.

Looking at the shape, I can only guess they go on the quarter panels, right above the wheel well. I could be completely wrong, though. Those instructions are downright awful.

It's nothing personal, it's partially what Jelze said and partially Andy himself emailed them to us. He's the original source and we have to go with the original source, we just didn't get to them until that point in time because all the news staff is busy with real life stuff. And Jelze is right, we can't possibly read every thread, every post, every page. It's literally impossible to do with the numbers we have on this server.

Please, always use the news submission forum or email us directly so we can get the news out there. (Today's an exception, we wouldn't have been able to get it out sooner, sadly.)

No cheats. The peg at the top of the foot is just nicely wedged under the panel that's flipped up. Also the gun barrels sort of fit over the rear view mirrors creating a bit of tension. The trick is the thumb on the hand foot. It is pushed up and bent in so it hooks around the grey thigh hidden inside that whole assembly.
I'd take some pics but I'm out of town, I can show you when I get back. ;)

How tall are the combiner wars figures(both deluxe and voyagers)?

I have noticed Hasbro has decided deluxes are 5 inches tall and voyagers 6 inches tall in some of the other lines. I'm just wondering if this shortness is in the combiner wars as well.
