Black Hat wrote:One slight nitpick: The game is clearly styled after 16-bit systems like the Super-NES and the Mega Drive/Genesis, which didn't come out until the 90s. The most advanced graphics you'd get on an early/mid 80s machine would be something like a Commodore 64 home computer, which would still look nowhere near that nice. You might get something like that on an Amiga or a late 80s arcade machine, maybe?
Still, awesome.
Actually the mega drive debuted in Japan in 1988, and then the US the following year. Europe didn't get it till the year after that. Though considering the movie is set in 1987, I would say the game is inspired by the latest arcade games that were making waves, some of which would hit the mega drive in its first assortment of games.
To be fair though, the mega drive didn't really hit its stride till a certain blue hedgehog turned up in 1991...

Huh, interesting! I assumed the movie was set in the early/mid 80s for some reason. But that makes more sense in any event- arcade machines always had an advantage over consoles in raw power/graphics (though nowadays an arcade machine with a comparable "power gap" over a modern console would be absurdly expensive).

On topic about this game, curse you will for bringing it to my attention! This game is too addictive! I've got writing I should be doing!

I really like this game. It's like a better version of the Mystery of Convoy game. If I could change just one thing though, I would add Blitzscream in the game. Other than that, awesome!

I just got to about level 93 (maybe higher, forgot to write it down), 1962 oil, 1751 Energon, 3195 Cassettes, and 18 boss battles!
I ultimately lost because the screen couldn't generate itself as fast as Bee was running across it. Not sure if the problem was on their end or my PC.

Let us know what you think and how that would fit within the film, especially since we already know he is a Jeep before turning into a Beetle.
Lunatic Prime wrote:At 0:19 this is either his version with Cybertronian alt mode parts or a third Earth based alt mode in this movie.
