It was a decent interview- pretty in depth, and they asked about Eeyore! Woot! He sounds pretty excited about the movie game, too. It's going to be pretty special, from the sound of things.

Seibs, you saw the part with the glasses. Did Cullen deliver the gag line he mentioned in the article?

WTF?!
Michael Bay, you are a [fill-in-the-blank]!
Mr. Cullen doesn't even remember whether he said the iconic line "Autobots, transform and roll out!" because they were always "changing things." Gee, that's reassuring. Bay, you myopic, clod, thanks for accomplishing what I didn't think possible--lowering my expectations for this movie even further!
I'm telling y'all now that based upon what I've seen and heard about this movie so far, there's no way this movie cracks the top five in gross receipts this year--and I have my doubts whether in makes the top ten.
I can think of a half-dozen movies I'm more eager to see this year.
Right now Bay is the early favorite for the Ang Lee award--for screwing up an adaptation of a cartoon/comic-based franchise to live-action film.
Scheiße!

If anything, it shows Prime's personality a bit more, rather than just having him being serious the whole time. Even in the G1 cartoon he would have a fun moment here or there.

Exactly. And if people had actually read the article thoroughly they would have seen that Cullen got a kick out of the "My bad" line and wondered if he would get to do more. I find it hilarious how people cut small little quotes out of this and turn them into an argument opposite of what the quote originally meant.

If Cullen *got it* then I think it actually might work as Prime befuddled by Human mannerisms.
IT looks like Cullen *got it*.

And Nightwatcher makes a very good point, too.
This was a good interview. Cullen gives interesting responses.

Believe me, 'My Bad' is only one of numerous clumsy lines that they will give Prime.

Sentinel Maximus wrote:Cullen seemed alittle troubled about the robot designs, Welker not being Megatron, & the "My Bad." line (My bad? OMFG how stupid.) But what else is he going to say? Bears gotta eat right!
this movie is meant to bring in non fans and relate to kids.. and MY BAD is widely used by all walks of life and kids these days, so much so that it has even prompted Peter Cullen to say it in the Transformers movie, i wonder if that phrase is going to be added to the webster's slang section of the dictionary because of the popularity and over use, even if its aweful grammar??

Yes, I couldn't quite decide exactly what Cullen's view on the movie is.

I was at Matsuri during this Q&A, and, in fact, I asked two of the questions posed in the article, though I was paraphrased. And that's somewhat unfortunate, as the “Q”s added additional humor to the “A”s. Verbatim quotes would've been great: one of my exchanges with Mr. Cullen was hilarious.
Anyway... I'm glad this was recorded for posterity. Mr. Cullen was an incredibly likeable and interesting person. Even my friends, who aren't devotees of TFs, thought he was awesome. Seriously. I'm 22 and I'd hang-out with this guy for fun. He also remains incredibly humble and gracious. That's a unique combination to see in such a confident and cool individual.
A friend of mine video-taped a portion of the Q&A, but exited the auditorium abruptly after embarassing himself by asking an inane and baffling question (something unintelligable about Mr. Cullen taking Will Smith's role in Bad Boys 2). Mercifully, that was omited from this article. He plans on turning the footage into a parody based on his faux-paux, mixed with footage of our group generaly doing insane things at the Con and elsewhere.
I'm going to attempt to get an unedited copy first and provide video of Mr. Cullen's Q&A (though he recorded only about half of it). Text doesn't do him justice; he was just fantastic. I overheard multiple anime fans say, after specifically stating only passing-interest in Transformers, that Mr. Cullen was the best part of the entire convention.
As an aside: I don't like anime, and therefore I can't judge the other aspects of the Con accurately. However, I was repeatedly told that the Con sucked and that Mr. Cullen was its only saving grace.

Michael Bay is such a great guy....NOT!
Peter Cullen wrote:He's a great director and I had no problems with him at all. He genuinely appeared to like my work. He never asked me to do anything, as a matter a fact he would say would Prime do this?
Although I am impressed you managed to go this entire thread without complaining about Megan Fox.
