Is there a benefit in dragging their feet about this? Is there benefit in not having any to release on their HasCon debut as well?

Who said the HASCON exclusives were going to be figures? It could be an exclusive Soundwave voice changing mask and an exclusive Bumblebee cannon arm for all we know.

ScottyP wrote:One figure sounds great, and I really mean that. One of the issues Fun Pub had, imo, was the mentality that less could not possibly be more. Did year X's set have Y number of figures? Fun Pub thought that year X+1's set had to have greater than or equal to Y or it was a step back. They said so. It didn't and doesn't make sense and seemed like a strange self-imposed guideline.
Anyhow, yeah I am very in favor of Hascon going for more of an early Botcon or Tokyo Toy Show type model where there are 1, at most 3 or so choice pieces to commemorate the event.
But $600 for a dinner and a goodie bag with one vague exclusive, which may not even be a figure?
At Botcon, $600 would get you a 5-figure boxset, the attendee exclusive, an original comic, a commemorative pin, tech specs, a goodie bag, 3-day pass at the con, hall of fame dinner, casino night, door prize entries, a massive dealer room entry, discount for protoform packages, a year's worth of the funpub newsletters, an annual exclusive mailed to you, and at least 1 more convention exclusive. You would leave with an experience and a haul of valuable figures.

UPDATE: It has been brought to this foolish news poster's attention exactly what 'early access' means -- it's highly likely that Arcee and Ultra Magnus are not exclusives at Hascon, but will be there first before being distributed to normal retail afterwards.
io9 wrote:Joining Rex in early access at the con is a new $30 Titans Return figure set for Arcee. Inspired by the retro generation 1 designs, the Deluxe-Class figure includes a “Titan Master” minifigure for Ultra Magnus, which can transform into an alternate heads for other Titans Returns figures:

Damn. If this and the Optimus Prime power bank were SDCC exclusives, I would have bought more stuff at Comic-Con.

Maybe they'll keep the exclusives to a minimum.
I know we had gotten REALLY awesome characters from BotCon. But even being a non-attendee trying to get all the exclusives costs you (well, costs me, at least) almost two whole months of income.
Just one exclusive is a little more manageable. Boring. But manageable.

Totally agreed. This Arcee looks way better than the Generations mold, super G1 Arcee just ends up looking odd to me. Makes me wish Nautica got more retooling.

I should of said my soul for all the Titan return and compatible (like cogman) figures cause that's what I meant.
I did not get the T30 Arcee myself so this is fine to me... I don't like the proportions of the T30 Arcee
and especially the Legends version so this is fine to me.

I regretted owning Takara Legends Arcee ever since I bought her, but if it means I have a bargaining chip to get one that looks as good as this, I'm certainly a lot more happy to have her.

What's wrong with Legends Arcee in your opinion? (I myself don't like her proportions especially her hips and how shellformery she is and is part of why I like this Arcee since she looks the right amount of feminine without over doing it like most of the Takara Legend gals)
Semi-related but I also don't really care for TFP Arcee myself since to me the show model looks like it cheats too much a lot more then other TFP/RID designs do.
Anyways the colors on this Arcee look amazing and pop out to me and I really like the new molding on the figure she will go with Nautica and Windblade just fine as well as my 1986 movie shelf which is mostly Headmasters anyways (Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr) so only Springer will be a non TR figure.

But then I realise it's kind of a shit design, so no matter how accurate the T30/Legends toy is, it's just not going to end up looking very good. It's... it's a bit like the movie designs to me -- I admire the sheer work and effort that went into it, but it doesn't mean it looks good.
And the Takara colours don't help for me. They ended up making her face look very creepy.
This one's the update I really wanted. Clearly inspired by the original design, but refined and perfected. Strikes a perfect balance, like you said.

I'm glad that you like it. I guess it just comes down to what aesthetic you're going for in your collection. As I tend to go for G1 screen accuracy whenever possible, I'll keep LG10 until the eventual MP version... sometime in the year 3000

Yeah I've myself have never really loved the original Arcee design myself since it's so much of a Princess Leia ripoff like a lot of the 1986 movie being a Star wars rip off and just there to be the token female which is a trope I hate since I think the genders in a cast should be balanced or on either extreme so I've more so enjoyed revamped designs like IDW.
Movie designs have never really made into good looking toys (not including off screens) I love most movie designs on the screen where they are more alive then any other Transformer even if most don't have a lot of personality or screen time but they won't ever get toys that do them complete justice bar a few exceptions like ROTF leader Optimus.
I'm buying TLK's Cogman and Nitro and have already bought Barricade but I'm not buying them to represent the movie versions but for them to be in my Generations shelf which is my universe where they do wacky adventures in the kitchen and fight Bionicles and Halo mega bloks and it's a big reason why I don't get upset when the toys don't completely represent the originals much like with non headmasters being turned into headmasters.
I find more things about Takara Legends Arcee to be creepy besides the face...

What were you expecting after all the rumors and the card art we saw? It was never going to be a brand new mold, being at the end of the line. Doubly so if it was a con exclusive, although in this case it's not, just an early release with possibly a better paint job. I'm getting flashbacks to NYCC Prime First Edition deluxe Optimus Prime from 2011.

I don't see what all the rage about this Arcee is. She looks nice, but not wonderful. The headmaster kibble shows behind her head and the paint is kind of splotched all over in vehicle mode. I don't hate it, but I don't see what you all are seeing.

Loving the Arcee as im a huge rebirth fan. Glad it will sell in retail at a later date. Sucks for the people spending $600 plus airfare and hotel just to get her a couple months early. Oh well, at least you get to meet Chewbacca Mom and the walking Play Doh can.

Basically it's charger you have with you for phones, tablets, wireless speakers and such.
