Finally doing MV6 Skywarp, so much for a bunch of the jets being exclusives (thankfully not).
Looks like they're trying to do a G1 Bumblebee yet again for SS86.

Seriously, what the fuck is up with that? Only a core class this year? I got my hopes up when I read "Frenzy", but it's probably just a repack of the 86 guy.
List of missing on-screen bots:
-Frenzy
-Dispensor
-Autobot Protoform
-Decepticon Protoform
-Demolishor
-Scalpel
-Que/Wheeljack
-Hatchet, we've seen renders but he still hasn't shown up
-Devcon
-Sand themed Brawl
-Bumblebee (AOE old camaro)
-Bumblebee (2014 camaro, this absence is particularly puzzling because it'd just be Stinger with a new head, you'd think they would have made it ages ago)
-Drift (car)
-Hound
-Scorn
-Slug
-Strafe
-Junkheap
-Daytrader
-Lieutenant
-Bulldog
-Infernocus
-Onslaught
-Dragonstorm
And these are just the ones I could easily remember, plus I left out anyone who already had proper toys done in The Last Knight.

I'm excited for Filch, Lockdown and Thundertron - who I suspect will be a retool of Tigerhawk. Its the only leader-class even in the ballpark. I should note this is the wrong thread, though.
For SS86, it's nice to get Steeljaw for sure! Bumblebee...best guess is the existing Netflix one with painted windows (which would be welcome).

Have they done any Frenzy's yet? I assume he wouldn't be a multiformer and they would likely release the boombox and coffee machine as separate bots?

Perhaps, but it's also listed under something called "A Level" assortment, rather than any traditional size class.Emerje wrote:Looks like they're trying to do a G1 Bumblebee yet again for SS86.

Considering that clarification has been made but none of the MV6/Bee movie characters that weren't actually in the movie have been changed, I have to assume that actually means they all are Bee movie versions? Who knows at this rate.

An 07 Frenzy in Studio Series scale would be a microfigure along the lines of Ravage/Igor/Scorponok which we've seen packed in with other figures, but core class would be cool to get as well since it doesn't necessarily need to scale. I imagine they would go with the Boombox alt mode, since that was his more prominent alt mode compared to the cell phone.
The only transforming Frenzy we've had before (excluding Human Alliance, which just folds up) is actually the 07 Fast Action Battler, which used the boombox alt mode. It's kind of a neat looking figure!

Yeah, but it also specifically says 86 and people have been literally begging Hasbro to either make a new Deluxe G1 Bumblebee or get the Netflix back out there. Doing something else that doesn't scale with the rest of SS86 would probably not go over well. I'm guessing A Level is some sort of "ultimate" version of characters at a new price point.

Yeah, the numbers don't work either. Just noticed they're listed as G0200 like the Star Seeker capsule so they might be another exclusive SS line like Buzzworthy Bumblebee. A as in Amazon?

It's been so long since I watched '07. I forgot Frenzy transforms into a phone as well. Seeing as HasTak do love their mold reuses, in theory they could do three separate Frenzy figures?

It definitely sucks that Bayverse has been almost completely phased out from Studio Series when there's still so much more that can be done with it, I would love a Voyager class Onslaught. This brand team must not like doing Bayverse characters all that often. At least Buzzworthy Bumblebee has been coming through with re-issues of older, popular Studio Series toys. It would be great if they re-released Ironhide, maybe adding his Dark of the Moon weaponry, and perhaps do the Wreckers together as a three-pack, Buzzworthy would be a fine place for those.

The Beast Wars MPs may have continued if Hasbro hadn't listened to the fans' criticism of Hasbro ignoring the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars back in 2016, and hadn't made the Kingdom line to co-celebrate both the 15th anniversary of TFTM and the 25th anniversary of Beast Wars.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:As someone following the Beast Wars MP line, I feel for the fans of the SS Bayformers line. In other words, the Beast Wars MPs seemed to have relied on Hasbro maintaining a refusal to celebrate Beast Wars.

Still there is a silver lining to my cloud. With rumours of MP Rhinox being sighted in Japan. The future for SS Bayformers though? That's a little more murky.

Mysterious.
Specially because A Level AST is applied to the probable next movie Prime, and an 86 Bumblebee.
The game’s afoot.

We're not entirely sure, since it's also listed under "A Level AST" instead of "Studio Series", and have a product number that better resembles those that belong to a capsule subline.M. And the product number also changed from starting with F to starting with G. That usually means a different line of production as well with different guidelines for aesthetic. So I doubt they will be Studio Series, though being designated "MV8" and "86" does give me pause.Sabrblade wrote:We're not entirely sure, since it's also listed under "A Level AST" instead of "Studio Series", and have a product number that better resembles those that belong to a capsule subline.M. If we indeed get a SS86 Bee, will it be another use of the Netflix mold, perhaps in a brighter yellow like Buzzworthy Bee was? And does that mean Prime will be a figure of Prime from the fully animated movie scheduled to come out next year, which is apparently labeled "movie 8?"

That's what he was saying, G0200 series is the Star Seeker capsule so these are probably also exclusive.
I wouldn't trust the MV8 part too much. Just like how MV6 Frenzy is most definitely SS86 Frenzy, MV8 OP is probably SS86 OP. I would be very surprised if movie 8 happens next year or even in the next two years given ROTB's poor performance.

I wouldn't use product numbers as a mean of indicating new lines per se, as there's no special formatting to indicate them: across all of Hasbro toylines, it's a first-come-first-serve in assigning them, and now with Power Rangers on board, the numbers are going faster than ever.

In a sense it did, actually. Unlike G1, Beast Wars with its smaller fanbase is more prone to oversaturation of its market and we have seen what oversaturated markets do. Now that lines are moving away from Beast Wars Masterpiece is ready to fill that void again.

For everyone that commented on my cynicism with regards to us not getting to complete the original mission of SS because they moved the goal posts: told you so.
The fact that it will now be at least 2025 AKA SEVEN YEARS since AOE Grimlock before we get another Dinobot is disheartening, especially since they just re-released him.
I am also willing to bet that at least one of those listings is for a Transformers: Reactive figure.
Anyways, happier topic. I spent some time with the SS RotB figures this weekend, as well as some time with the mainline figures taking some comparison pics for squads. SS Bee is definitely better than the mainline figure, but mainline Prime is a better figure than the SS one.
I also am splitting the beasts up into 1 release in bot mode, and 1 release in robot mode for display. SS Primal will most likely be in robot mode.
Scourge is still awesome!
I also took some updated group shots of the SS shelves. enjoy!

Robot mode is pretty much a case of what you see is what you get. Vehicle kibble is obtrusive and severely hinders articulation. Head articulation, waist articulation, and leg articulation are all neutered thanks to the vehicle panels, most of which are pinned in. As mentioned above, a ton of the figure is made out of transparent plastic, including the entirety of the forearms (as they form the windows). Not too big a fan of that.
Interestingly enough, you can collapse the double shoulder hinges to, in my opinion, improve the look significantly. It does mean that the arms can't come down straight against his sides because of the kibble, but it does slim him up quite a bit and make him look more accurate to the on-screen model. In fact, a number of the pictures above already used the shoulder-down configuration, and I think it works.

Still, I may buy him but only on sale. I'd customise it into some sort of "alternate reality Jazz.".

Also, SS86 Rumble and Frenzy both already exist (even though Frenzy isn't out yet), so what you're suggesting would mean that either the listings are even more screwed up than already speculated (since they would be saying the wrong movie and be missing the PR designation) even though having a repack in wave 1 is basically unheard of below Leader class, or that Hasbro is genuinely going to try to sell Rumble (Red) and Frenzy (Blue) as separate figures from Rumble (Blue) and Frenzy (Red)....even though that would still mean the red cassette would be in Wave 4 this year and then immediately repacked via technicality in Wave 1 next year.
I honestly think that at this point the listings being 100% accurate is just more plausible, the only one I could still see maybe being mislabeled is maaaybe Sunstreaker (and even then, why would he not have been corrected when Steeljaw was?).

That alt-mode is good enough to make me want to pick him up, If I ever find him.
Can anybody that has Mirage take a comparison pic him with SS-86 Jazz in car mode, just for kicks?

I wouldn't trust the MV8 part too much. Just like how MV6 Frenzy is most definitely SS86 Frenzy, MV8 OP is probably SS86 OP. I would be very surprised if movie 8 happens next year or even in the next two years given ROTB's poor performance.

The animated movie is confirmed for next year. So one can assume figures from there will make it into SS. So, this MV8 Prime makes a lot of sense there even if he is being voiced by Chris "The Mighty Thor" Hemsworth.
What's still confusing is why MV8 Prime and Bumblebee are both in whatever sub-group / line "A Level" is supposed to be. Some type of more accurate figure sub-line? Special detailing , paint apps? Who knows.

Frenzy wasn't in the Bumblebee movie so I doubt the accuracy of that listing unless it's another Freezer repaint they're sticking a Bumblebee logo on. That feels like a wasted Core slot for a mold that doesn't need a third retail repaint if that's the case.

It's an animated feature and RotB was delayed due to other factors.
I don't see any reason for them to delay the movie, worst comes to worst, they may choose to just release it Direct to streaming instead of theatrical if they don't want to spend the money on advertisements.

But anything can happen as you say.
But if it's not for TFONE, then what is this Prime? a 40th anniversary SS86 version?

People seem to be sure SS86 Prime is going to be a Commander class figure so I don't think this is that. The whole "A Level" thing is a total unknown so I couldn't even venture a guess what it'll really be. Between the G0200 numbering that's being used for exclusives and lack of price class it could be anything from a true "mini Masterpiece" new mold line to a "Premium Finish" style Hasbro line for Earthrise molds (since Takara Tomy handled Siege, SS, and Kingdom), to a 1-step Generations line to something that never sees the light of day. Could literally be anything. Only thing I don't think it is is TF:One.

Unfortunately, that speculation was based entirely on speculation about SS86 Commmander class Ultra Magnus having an inner cab robot that could be redecoed into Optimus for a SS86 Commander class release, but said Ultra Magnus ended up not having an inner cab robot after all.Emerje wrote:People seem to be sure SS86 Prime is going to be a Commander class figure so I don't think this is that.

Maybe they are both MV8 figures. BB is slated to be in that movie too.
The lack of class size however is a bit strange.

I am practically begging now.
