This game will be for PC and consoles. We thank all the wonderful fans who brought this to our attention.
For toy fans, we have already had listings for toys from this game, though we do not know what any bot designs look like yet.
Here is the trailer:

More like Destiny/Anthem from what I gather. But yes, definitely band wagon type.

nah man, real-time strategy similar to Age of Empires.

Perhaps we do now: designs for Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron claimed to be for Reactivate have leaked and are online on this Reddit post.

If those are real then Prime's alt mode was definitely influenced by the Classics toy.
I'm not a big fan of online squad shooters, hopefully there's a solo campaign.

The designs DOES feels like a "sequel" to WfC/FoC...

Hmm... that Optimus I could believe, not so much the Megs / Bee unless they're fairly early concepts. They don't really seem to share the design aesthetic with OP or the trailer IMO - I'm looking at details like the hands and comparing to the POV shot at the end of the trailer. OP has a AAA hyper-detail look to him that fits that shot; the others don't. (Note that the hands seen in the trailer are black with yellow panels, so very likely Bee.)

Then I saw ghuman faces and I was like nope.
Then I pressed play and I was like, wow this actually looks very promising!
The whole idea that the perspective rises above the humans and seeing the robot arms is very cool!
I think I saw Ratchet and a version of Bulkhead or movie Hound. Unknown non-Transformers aliens invading.
This looks fresh guys!
Only huge problem I have with this is online multiplayer.
That is where games go to die, They tried an online shooter with Transformers years ago > dead
They made a Legacy of Kain game online (which is a story driven franchise) > dead
This is going to die and without the servers you can't even play against AI by yourself offline.
This is all assumptions of course. But if this has good gameplay and story, man I hope they retool it to be a single player version or somesort with a story / big skirmish mode offline.
And hopefully on consoles, my pc can't play modern games.

Yes, I very much agree. That is the game I want, also be nice if it was a MMORPG where I could make my own Transformer character. This new trailer seems ok, but it didnt really show enough to say.
Hmm, thought I might have gotten the news credit on this one since I sent the news in yesterday 3 minutes after the trailer was put on YouTube. Guess not.

Splash Damage has issued a press release about Reactivate:
SPLASH DAMAGE ANNOUNCES TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE
World Exclusive Reveal at The Game Awards Offers a First Look at a Brand-New TRANSFORMERS Video Game
London, United Kingdom (December 8, 2022) – Splash Damage, the developers behind Dirty Bomb, Gears Tactics, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, today announced TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE, a 1-4 player online action game, being developed in collaboration with Hasbro, Inc. This PC & Console co-op game will offer players an opportunity to explore a fresh, new story within the TRANSFORMERS universe.
The Game Awards saw the World Exclusive Reveal of TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE, offering fans a glimpse of what they can expect with a cinematic trailer. The gravest threat to humanity has arrived. And it’s already won. Earth is no longer ours; it belongs to them. All we have left is our hope for the Autobots, as we salvage them from the rubble left behind.
TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE will offer players a chance to immerse themselves in the TRANSFORMERS universe like never before. They will get to play as some of their favourite characters; unique, weighty, and powerful, seamlessly converting between vehicle and bot form as they battle The Legion; the greatest threat the Autobots have ever faced.
Richard Jolly, CEO of Splash Damage, says, “Growing up with G1 TRANSFORMERS in the ’80s means it'll always hold a special place in my heart, it's both an honour and a privilege to work with such a beloved franchise. We know fans have been waiting a long time for a new TRANSFORMERS game on consoles and pc, and we're going to give them the experience they deserve.”
TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE marks a new era for Splash Damage and is being developed & published exclusively by the London-based group. As part of this new era, Splash Damage recently acquired BULKHEAD and have been developing TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE in collaboration with the Derby-based studio. The 500+ people strong development & publishing teams at Splash Damage and BULKHEAD are expanding rapidly and TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE is one of several original titles currently in development at the studios.
Eugene Evans, SVP of Business Development & Digital Licensing, at Hasbro, says, “Fans have been eagerly awaiting a new game that immerses them into our iconic TRANSFORMERS universe. We’re thrilled to share a first look on one of gaming’s biggest nights. Splash Damage has an amazing track record with some of the world’s most famous IP’s and have a strong creative passion for the TRANSFORMERS brand. We’re confident that TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE will be hugely popular with the TRANSFORMERS community and continues the Hasbro Blueprint 2.0 strategy of creating first-class branded entertainment across diverse categories and platforms including video games.”
TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE will be available for PC and consoles. With the Closed Beta planned for 2023, players can sign up right now at www.playTFR.com for future updates.

What would work best would be a hybrid approach where you go third person for vehicle mode

I'd love the option to change (hehe) the camera - based on the trailer I'm inclined to think it's at least first-person.
Mind you it's all moot for me as my PC likely won't run it and my wife and I are still on the last gen of console!

- also on Twitter, someone decoded the cybertronian text in the trailer: https://twitter.com/CodenameVODID/statu ... 2133856257
- while the trailer is from a first person point of view, and hopefully a trailer is meant to give some impression of the game and what it entails (to create some hype), it being first person is not part of the game's description

Just based off that, this should be a good multiplayer shooter, making those is Splash Damage's bread-and-butter. Whether it's a good TF game, that remains to be seen.
Also, because of these:

CINEMATIC REVEAL TRAILERS ARE NEVER INDICATIVE OF THE CONTENT OF THE ACTUAL GAME, DO NOT TAKE THEM AS PROOF OF ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE GAME EXISTING AND THE GENERAL CONCEPTbluecatcinema wrote:Those graphics are fantastic.
Unless they blatantly say what they're showing is in-game footage or a cutscene rendered using the in-game engine, then it's safe to assume what they're showing is gonna look better and/or different from the real game because they paid to make a fancy cinematic. Most companies these days don't start showing that kind of real footage until at least the second time they take a game to an event like this (or the first time, if the game wasn't announced at an event).

Oh God, so the and must band together with the humans to fight against "The Borgs" or something. The story looks EPIC! But it will be all for naught if the game is online multiplayer only that consist of either deathmatches, or mowing waves of ennemies à la Wireframe or something.
Please, game, have at least an epic 20 hours single player campaign with heavy story elements!

SykDealer wrote:I wonder if this "Legion" is something new or if they're a different take on the Quintessons. Some of those aliens looked a lot like the tantacly Quintesson things from Cyberverse. Either way, it's nice to see the Transformers and humans together in darker, grounded scenarios. It annoys me so much when the human characters don't or can't join in when the action starts. Hate on the live action films all you want, but those scenes where the military and the Autobots fight together in DOTM kick ass!
Well, there's already a Unicron-related Legion in Transformers, which also involved infecting/fusing with other machines and beings. It's just...not one fans like to remember.
Anyway, I really like this concept! It's a completely new idea for Transformers, and I always like when we explore and enrich more of their universe beyond Cybertron and Earth. If the toy rumours are true, I hope we get figures of the Legion units themselves.
The multiplayer aspect, however, does nothing for me. Hopefully we actually have a solo story mode.
Also, anyone else notice this?

“Transformers Reactivate News” (@TFR_News) has shared a “gallery screen” which may be character selection for the game. The tweet is here: https://twitter.com/tfr_news/status/160 ... 1k6UR4l5ow. This gallery shows seven Transformers in robot mode with smaller images of the alternate forms. Characters featured are Starscream, Slipstream, “Hotrod”, Soundwave, Sunstreaker, Ironhide and Windblade. The fliers’ altmodes are very Cybertronian in design whilst the other bots and cons have vehicle modes more akin to Earth vehicles (including an off-road 4X4 truck Soundwave).
A video by RoboGamer1HD is also doing the rounds where the YouTuber talks about what we’ve seen and heard both officially and unofficially, and hypothesizing about the beta. This video includes glimpses of gameplay footage which indicates the game uses a third-person view rather than the first-person seen in the announcement trailer. The video is here:
Another Twitter account, “Is Transformers Rise of the Beasts Trailer 2 out?” (@ROTBTrailer), has shared screenshots of the gameplay footage from RoboGamer’s video from 2018 here: https://twitter.com/rotbtrailer/status/ ... l2JArcjztA. Another tweet from the same account (https://twitter.com/rotbtrailer/status/ ... 1k6UR4l5ow) suggests the game‘s development started with Certain Affinity in 2017 before moving to current developer Splash Damage. The poster is adamant all leaks confirm that Reactivate is a third-person perspective game.
One can only hope more official reveals are coming and, for this fan at least, that we see toys based on these designs!

In his video RoboGaming1HD explicitly states several times that material he has seen from as far back as 2017 consistently describes this as a third-person shooter.
