Movie trilogy deluxes shown at SDCC will only be available in Asia.
Well, so much for Movieverse...
But hey, 40+ new Generations, can't complain about that. Curious as to who will be in, though. We know FoC, hopefully more than just strictly G1 stuff (would LOVE guys like Sky-Byte or Barricade reimagined in that style).
Sounds like they are trying to avoid distribution problems with Bruticus, but seeing how just the last few months played out I'm still pretty worried.

40 Generations figures? Hah. Repaints, maybe, but new molds? Not a chance in Hell. It'll be repaints out the wazoo.
I'm highly disappointed by Hasbro this year. F.E. received the back burner treatment, may never see the light of day (I don't listen to their promises anymore) and PRID, for the most part, sucks.
Why are they running it like this, this year? Geez. Come on, Hasbro! And having to wait until 2013 for most of the stuff? Are you kidding me? REALLY? WTF?
I'm starting to think all of what's coming this year is filler stuff. I don't know what they have planned for 2014, but it better impress me. It. Better. Impress. Me.
Hasbro? My ass, you can kiss it. Well... Bandai, you just found a steady buyer of your wares.

Thanks as always for the updates, the Generations announcement is a huge shot of happiness. Now to figure out who I import those last Movie line figures from... although I am NOT liking the price of importing the HA Soundwave, ouch!

Judging from the e-mails sent out, First Editions could reappear in generations. Isn't that the line they were meant to be in anyway? Just saying, that would partially explain some boastful numbers, though it's hardly definite.
Posted by craggy on February 11th, 2012 @ 2:29pm CST
if all of bruticus is in one wave, then that's a lot more cases than normal that will be selling, i'd imagine. especially if they put it up online as a pre-order for a case of 8, with OP, Shock and Jazz. that could just be a license to print money that one.
sounds like they know there's been some...disgruntled?...customers following the whole "ooh look Transformers! NO! YOU can't have them!" debacle with FE Prime toys. I did think it a bit unlike Hasbro to not take full advantage of the interest in the molds. Hopefully we see them all back again at some point, although as I said elsewhere, the current line of "in some form" could very well result in something akin to a Universe line of ridiculously garish repaints, so I'm not holding my breath too hard.
good to know the MMO is still getting focus. would love to learn more about that. FOC isn't something I'm worried about, because I've faith that High Moon can make a good Transformers game. I just hope the online experience is a bit better (it was fun...but...more frustrating than it needed to be, IMO) and would like to see a larger range of customisation options for online, but am definitely on board for it because I have faith the single player/online co-op game will be worth the money.
GI Joe news isn't terribly exciting, but the movie designs do look a little better this time around. I may reconsider yet. I'll probably see about getting a little Rock and Bruce Willis at least.
can't wait for all the pics!

I'd agree with you that I doubt we'll see 40 entirely new molds, but even this announcement of 40 new toys is enough to get me excited. Maybe I'm the only one, but sometimes a new paintscheme or head can really sell a figure to me that I've either passed on before, or sometimes one that I already have. Still, I understand your frustration, I mean, no TF line before has ever utilised repaints effectively...coughSeekerscoughcoughProwl/Bluestreak/SmokescreencoughETCcough

But I guess it will be like 20 Classics and 20 FOC, with a couple of useless repaints, maybe even a few re-releases?

yeah I could see them re-releasing a few figures in the Gen line. Possibly WFC Prime as FOC Prime.
People asking about the movie deluxe figures that didn't come out yet...those could be in Generations as well possibly.

That's the most likely outcome. A few Deluxes, perhaps a Voyager or two, a whole slew of repaints....and Cyberverse.
Well, we already have proof of that. Redecoed DOTM Legends Soundwave in Cyberverse packaging that says TransFormers. The rest of them clearly say Prime.
We might see some movie stuff and things like that in Generations, but for the most part it's going to be stuff we've seen already. Or stuff we don't care about.

We'll see what kinda stuff they put together for the new Generations, but ... honestly, with 40+ there's BOUND to be some great stuff in there. The fact taht they're even making a REAL Bruticus tells me that the game is ON.

They meant the Rescue Bots show. As much as a season 4 of Animated sounds delicious, too much time has passed since the end of season 3 and now for there to
be a season 4.

Whoa.
I'm pretty sure they said at the toy fair in London that the FoC figures were going to be part of Generations. Think about it, if they weren't Hasbro could be running PRIME: RiD, Generations and FoC simultaneously. Is that likely? I'll answer that question once I'm back from my snowball fight with Satan.
40+ characters is still hellish impressive and there's a lot that could be done with it. If PRIME and Generations are going to be the main lines in the foreseeable future then it can't make sense for Generations to stay exclusively deluxe, I just hope that they don't go smaller.
What do we say:
Confirmed= 8
FoC Optimus, Jazz, Shockwave, Combaticons
Theoretical/pure speculation= 8
Remolds/repaints of RTS Laser Optimus, Gen. Kup, FoC Cliffjumper (seems like an easy one to do), FoC Megatron and Starscream(because you would), FoC Thundercracker and Skywarp (longshots but easy money) and a rumoured Sixshot.
That's 16. Thought about including the First Editions, but if they already know there's 40+ but aren't sure of the fate of FE's then don't suppose it'd make sense. I'm pretty sure we're in trouble though.
Still, AWESOME!

Lately, they've dropped the ball and seem unrepentant about it. I'm not saying they won't wow us when it's all said and done, but at least prepare for the possibility of getting shafted here.
It's better to go in with realistic expectations and a little bit of hope, than to get your hopes all the way up and end up being completely destroyed.
I'm biased, I don't deny it. I don't have a lot of faith in them because I know they're capable of great works, just don't follow through.

I'm incredibly disappointed.
FOC Optimus sucks.
FOC Jazz looks good in robot mode, but the vehicle mode doesn't impress me at all.
FOC Bruticus looks much better in these pics.
PRID Starscream is a joke. So glad I bought the First Edition. No way the Voyager can top him.
PRID Bulkhead is horrible. I can't even begin to explain it. Just saddening.
PRID Leaders... I knew they were unimpressive, but Optimus is terrible. Just...no.
Generations looks to be my only viable option for TFs this year. Outside of a few PRID molds such as Breakdown.
I'm angry with Hasbro. Almost enough to tell them to stick it. What's gonna be the straw that breaks the camel's back? Because this is darn close.
