TF fan Chico reached out to us to let us know that they found the Transformers Cyberverse Adventures Dinobots Unite Roll and Change Bumblebee at a Walmart in California for $49.67. While they only found Bumblebee, the toy's wavemate is Optimus Prime. These are both big toys that have an auto converting gimmick. Chuckdawg has a video review of the Optimus figure below. and I made a review of the Bumblebee figure, which I really did not like (would not recommend to parents for their kids).

chuckdawg1999 wrote:The Cyberverse line has always given us new and inventive ways to transform and play with our Transformers, the Roll and Change line is no different. Optimus Prime features lights and sounds as well as some snap-on Energon blue body armor. The included sword is a great weapon but is also used as a lock to the changing gimmick. While the price might be a bit high for most, the toy is a solid, beefy, fun figure.

The new Transformers Cyberverse Dinobots Unite combiners were found in Canada a little while ago (image of sighting below) and now we have a video review for both the Slugtron and Bumbleswoop combiners. Each of those consist of an Autobot or Decepticon paired up with a Dinobot. We will be getting a combiner for each of the five Dinobots, it seems. They use the same mechanisms as the RID crash combiners but are much larger, as you can see from comparisons in the videos.

Enjoy!

We have news that the Transformers Cyberverse Dinobots Unite Slugtron and Bumbleswoop combiners have been found at US retail. Thlinux found them at a local Walmart in Pooler, GA. The Slugtron set comes with Dinobot Slug and Megatron while the Bumbleswoop set comes with Swoop and BUmblebee. We have already seen another set coming later with Wheeljack and Grimlock. These retail for $25 USD. To get an idea of the size of these, since they are much bigger than the previous crash combiners, you can look at the two video reviews below.

With the new Cyberverse Dinobot combniner 2 packs making the rounds in Canada and the US, some fans are asking if it's possible to mix and match, especially with just the dinos. And it turns out, yes you can. Here is an image below of Swoop combined with Slug. You can see how it looks like front and back. Of course, the issue is that the combiner head is no longer a combination of the two bots. These sets can be found at Walmart right now in the US and Canada for $25 and $36 respectively.

I'll have to look up for these.
I like that Energon vibes from Grimswoop. 8-)

Having a head behind the robot mode head, reminds me of Revenge of The Fallen Soundwave.

I think the TF:Energon combiners had better appearance and articulation. This just seems rushed and gimmicky.

I have many Energon combiners and they CANNOT be compared to the Cyberverse duocons. First, the Energon ones were deluxes. And those deluxes were BIG. The Cyberverse are barely legends scale and they have an automorph gimmick. That design is from years ago in the RiD line. There is a gimmick, but there's no "rush" here. Well, unless you want fast gameplay.

So, apples and oranges, really.

Still, one thing you can compare both to are their weird proportions and the fact that most bots are silly looking. Especially in combined mode. Like, really. Don't tell me that this Swoop/Grimlock combined mode look "good":

Image

It also can't pose at all due to the top-heaviness.

That is the exception, not the rule. I meant in general for that line. Ironhide+Jetfire. Rodimus+Prowl. Outside of that Dinobot combiner, all the others in that line are far higher in quality and poseability than these are.

Once again, I have to point out that it's an unfair comparison. My initial comment was about those Cyberverse thing to be "in the spirit" of the old Energon combiners. Not "exactly like them".

You point out "poseability" and "quality". "Quality" make no sense because they are pretty solid in hand and the gimmicks work perfectly. Nothing break here. As for posing, you cannot compare these at all because they are not in the same category. If the individual bots of those Cyberverse duocon teams were the same size and the same price as deluxe figures each, then maybe. But here, it's like comparing regular WFC deluxes with the 1 steps Cyberverses.
What's next, comparing oranges to bowling balls? 8-}

I hate most of the autobot deluxes from Energon. That Hot Shot is one of the worst toys of all time. I preffer this cyberverse Megatron/Slug over him for sure.

Anyways, these Cyberverse toys are more about the combined gimmick and not the individual modes (which I admit, are not good). It was the inverse with the Energon deluxes which don't even have a combiner head.

Also, them being simpler in articulation and design means that a younger audience can appreciate these, despite what it says on the box. While the Energon figures would be too complex (possibly) for 3-4 year olds.

That's because they weren't true "Combiners" per se, but were instead a new take on "Powerlinxing", in which one Autobot augmented the other instead of it being a Mini-Con who augmented the Autobot in question. It's like when Optimus Powerlinxed with Jetfire and/or Overload, who augmented Optimus's super mode instead of making a new combined identity. The Energon gimmick was basically "Every Autobot gets a Super Mode with help from someone or something else".

Just to guve an idea of the size of these toys, they are 1 step size, exactly.
So much bigger than legends size and less than a head shorter than deluxe size.

So they are not the same size as the previous batch, who were just a re-release and repaints of the RiD Crash Combiners?
Nice for the size increase, but unfortunate for the cross-compatibility.

That's ok, they are releasing as many sets of these new ones so they have their own compatibility.

I'm curious to see those combiners in stores, I am probably going to get them.

Also, Deluxe Slug was revealed today, and dang does he look great! He is both original and a great callback. He made himself all brand new, and I love it. His aesthetic rocks!

Between Ultimate Grimlock, deluxe Slug, and ultra Sludge, we are shaping up to have some great Dinobots from this line

Well this is quite the surprise. Fellow Seibertronian D-Maximal_Primal and others have told us of a new review for the upcoming deluxe class Slug (Slag) from the Transfomers Cyberverse line. We had never seen an image of this toy and now we see it's already been packaged and ready for distribution. Then again, this is now how we get to see these Cyberverse toys since Hasbro no longer reveals them and relegates them to retail finds. It is understandable since the line is not meant for collectors, but this toy in particular is the kind of toy collectors have been asking for. Not something meant for them (us) directly but at least the type of toy we used to find in the lines supporting a cartoon, like the RID warrior class figures. Something meant for kids but that any age group would enjoy, like the Beast Wars toys of old.

Since there is no BAF component, this Slag comes with quite the arsenal, including a long cannon and an axe that can be mounted atop the Triceratops mode.

For those wondering, there is a Snarl that will also be coming to the deluxe line and a bigger Sludge figure released in the Ultra class.

The review is from Prime vs Prime.

Between this new Cyberverse Slag, and the previously shown Cyberverse Sludge...I'm starting to get fairly excited for these. I find the aesthetic of these Cyberverse Dinobots interesting....stylized, but with (mostly) more anatomically correct\modern dinosaur modes vs the G1 Dinobots. Not only is it nice to see other Dinobots (besides Grimlock) finally getting some Cyberverse love, but these new figures should be easier on my wallet as well... :D

Not gonna lie, the article title (and the fact I tend to zoom down to look at the photos before reading the article), I got super confused when I saw the color scheme. It looks amazing, tho. I may pick this dude up if I ever see him in my store.

If he was generations leader class size, or even a bulky voyager, I think I actually would prefer this over the studio series version. He is G1 enough, while having a more modern design.
