I am working on the remastering now, and Hasbro and I are excited and looking forward to the releases of Transformers, G.I. Joe My Little Pony, series and movie, as well as Jem & the Holograms – starting around 1983 through 1988 or so. The original master tapes were in great condition, and I plan on remastering everything into 5.1 surround. We are not definite on this part yet, but may produce this in a boxed DVD set with newly filmed interviews of cast and crew and original artwork and some video footage. This is fairly large orchestra very well recorded with an MCI console in a European recording studio, and it’s sounding pretty spectacular so far. Sony Records will be releasing the albums.
This should be coming out in summer 2016 or later.

I hope all three seasons of music get released, as each season has a different style.
This music is ICONIC to me, being a part of my childhood, as much as that of the '86 TransFormers Movie. The Optimus Prime trumpet/horn fanfare and the Autobot theme are my absolute favorites, and I love the Vince DiCola inspired third season music, as well as the shared GiJoe background score.
I've watched the old 1970's Dan Gilvezan SpiderMan & Friends series on NetFlix and the background music in that series is also very similar. That show even has the precursor to the Autobot theme in it. Has anyone else ever seen that series and listened carefully to it's score?
It's such a surprise that this will finally become a reality, I don't really care too much about the price, I just worry about it's availability. I wouldn't want it to be rare like a "limited run" sort of thing or super exclusive. With this new release, I wonder how this will be packaged; individually or as a set? Honestly, only the music from GiJoe & TransFormers interest me, but I'll buy it all if there's no choice.
Robert J. Walsh, Johnny Douglas, Ford Kinder, and Amy Bryant are all unsung musical heroes and co-creators of our beloved G1 Series and I'm grateful to them for their music which has provided us 30 years of epic fun & good memories. They all deserve the fans' respect, and a place in the official Hasbro TransFormers Hall of Fame. And thanks also to Sony Records & Hasbro for this.
This is exciting, unexpected news; I can't wait to finally own this and listen to it, at my convenience, in crystal clarity. Having this in restored 5.1 stereo is gonna be AWSEOME and can't be too soon!

This is AWESOME news! I Absolutely loved the music of the original Transformers cartoons, Seasons one through four...
I recall G.I. Joe having many of the same musical numbers as Season 3 of Transformers, but who cares. Sony will get my money for these!

The songs from Jem were written by Anne Bryant, so they're probably not in this.chuckdawg1999 wrote:I wonder if this means that finally the songs from Jem will be available to the home market. I also hope the GI Joe Movie theme is included as well.

*sigh!* I'm giving this up as a lost cause now! coz it's been over a year since this item was posted(& prob even longer when the news item broke elsewhere)
YES! people might say that the remastering of these prob takes ages to process, but since it was initially due out last year...& we're now a year on from then! it's becoming less & less likely to happen(HEY! i hope i'm wrong! & the thing is released next week or whatever? but...i think we would've heard something by now...if that were the case)
but anywhoo....at least we've got the guys at TFCog to rely upon...in terms of tf bgm
