It is a good question as to why they went with the black version first. My best guess... to avoid the long arm of HASBRO's law department. With the black version at least it cannot directly be related to HASBRO's intellectual properties of Frenzy/Rumble, as it would if they were colored with their colors, as everyone wants. Black is a workable background palette, customizers could probably make their G1 versions without too much effort (at least I imagine).

Makes me wonder what Rumble and Frenzy will transform into though? I mean the SC guys look badass already. Personally, I can never have enough new cons!!
Well that will never happen. Everyone knows that Rumble is BLUE and Frenzy is RED!!!!!
j/k, lets not start this again.
Back on topic.....oh yeah, pass.

I really don't think so because they would draw more attention from HASBRO, and may lose their business. Intellectual properties and all (as I mentioned above in response to the black colored question).

It's tactics. Make you think it's not coming, then do a "Limited Edition" in the more desirable colors to jack up both the demand and the price. See also: D.I.A. Commander.

I fully expect this to come out in blue and red. Maybe they just want to see how it sells. OIf they were so worried about color, "Springer" would be blue. That said ... not interested. In the end, they don't work with any Soundwave of any sort and so fail as Rumble / Frenzy / Black Frenzy. Rumble and frenzy were never Ultra Magnus' guys, nor Optimus Prime's guys. I suppose they could concievable be held by G1 Soundwave, but ... no. Just no.
Total pass.

Well when I preordered two of these and the Defender figure who is about 80, it came to about 150 total so idk, it depends on the weight with Robot Kingdom so I have no idea other then this.

Well for one thing "springer" and the "Bruticus" add-on are made by Fansproject, this is made by Perfect Effect, the maker of the TAW God sword. I preordered these, honestly, I don't care about the colors, I just want me some shoulder guns for a commander kit.

Oh, I see. Well, even so. The people who run Hasbro aren't idiots. I'm certain they're seeing the point of these miles away. Whatever alarms can be rung have likely been rung

Yeah, I see your point, but honestly, I don't think that Hasbro cares, after all Fansproject made the TFCon exclusive Powered Commander, and Hasbro did nothing, as long as they don't use the names they can't really sue them either, Hasbro obviously doesn't hold a patent on transforming toys, and they can't exactly patent likenesses either.

Yeah, I think you're exactly right about that. I think that, any alarm bells that can go off probably have already. To little effect. Alarm bells have likely been raised and .... nothing. Maybe Hasbro doesn't think it's worth their time? I dunno.

I would've much preferred if he transformer into something more Decepticon-esque (and no, dark Autobot doesn't count), maybe if his pistons could've become a silencer for Classics Megatron and his body was the stock, then that would've been more appealing, but that's just me.
What's more Decepticonish that a big freaking gun that can be held by most Transformers?

I like the idea of a Frenzy/Rumble type figure being released for the Shadow Commander. I wonder if the next two releases we heard about will be geared towards the DIA Commander and City Commander to give us a closer representation to Rumble/Frenzy...
I'll be getting the other versions regardless...

Big guns aren't really a faction style, since, barring Animated, the Autobots pack just as much heat as the Decepticons do, heck, some of the biggest, most badass guns are wielded by the good guys.Mkall wrote:What's more Decepticonish that a big freaking gun that can be held by most Transformers?
